Checkout ended up being a little more complicated than expected, but instead of getting frustrated or making us feel like we were holding things up, the employee was extremely nice and patient with us. They took the time to help get everything figured out and made what could have been a stressful situation feel much easier. That kind of customer service really makes a difference, especially when something goes wrong that isn't necessarily anyone's fault. I really appreciated how friendly and understanding the employee was throughout the whole situation. It was one of those interactions that leaves you with a much better impression of a store. Even though we had some trouble at checkout, the employee handled it so well that I still left feeling really positive about the experience. Overall, I was very happy with our visit to Publix in Pigeon Forge. The great customer service and the way the employee treated us made this a five-star experience for me. I saw that there was a Publix in Pigeon Forge and knew that's where we'd need to go to get our picnic supplies! Because we had flown in (and didn't have picnic basket on our pack list), I knew that we needed to get a small cooler to keep our drinks and sandwiches cool on the warm spring day. Fortunately, Publix had a nice variety of small lunch box size coolers and we found one for a reasonable price that was perfect for what we needed and would collapse down for easy packing to bring it home. We then made our way to the deli and got fresh, deli made sandwiches made with boar's head meats and cheeses. They're fully customizable and we very much enjoyed them! We were also able to grab some fruit, pretzel crisps, boar's head hummus, and bottled beverages to round out our picnic. Everything was great, prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed a beautiful picnic in this beautiful area. One note would be that the deli does get busy. We were there in the ease of spring (ie: no big National Park crowds) and we still had to wait in a bit of a line for our deli sandwiches. So, just something to factor into scheduling. That said, we didn't mind a bit and the sandwiches were worth the wait. Get to it!

I said I only wanted two and he said "What am I going to do with the remaining pound?" As if it is my problem. I was NOT wanting to spend $100 on stone crab. Then, they didn't keep fresh for more than a day. DAMN. I bought raw whipping cream and it wouldn't whip (there was too much milk in it) and I spent $12 or so dollars for a pint. Another disappointment. The last visit was a couple months ago. I bought a piece of grouper (with the skin on....which is adding weight and you don't eat the skin) and a smoked mahi fish dip that was HARD pieces of fish. NO MORE! I'd rather drive to Gainesville to buy fresh fish than constantly be over charged and disappointed.

Sent an email to corporate asking a few questions and got a canned "AI" type response, I've since emailed back TWICE asking for clarifications on the labeling and crickets! Tonight we went to Gainesville Seafood Market. One of the advantages they have is a large parking lot with plenty of room. The food at both places is so close it is hard to call an overall winner. I would agree with someone's post that the clam chowder is a bit thin and could use to be thicker, but they make up for that fact with the sizable amount of Clams. Everything we have tried here was well,prepared and tasted great. Service was fast and efficient. The attitude of the employees was very welcoming and wanted to be sure we had everything we needed. It was a Friday night and close to closing, not much of a crowd, but still over all an enjoyable meal.
