These guys fixed my laptop and now it is so fast! Better hard drive and double the memory installed for less than $200. I was about to throw my laptop in the trash because it was so slow. Best decision I could have made!! read more

We've been using these guys since they opened. We have not had any issues they could not handle or explain to us in plain English that a senior citizen can understand. We've gotten our computers back in reasonable time with the problems fixed. The service is more personable than sending it out thru Staples, Best Buy, etc. because you do know who fixed it or broke it, and it wasn't some random who-ever on a building floor of dozens of repair geeks that may or may not find the correct problem. I'll stick to who we know. They've done great work so far and given us sound accurate advise when needed. read more

I've been dealing with this company for a long time, they've never disappointed me! My most recent experience with them: While on a job my computer started to freeze, I was out of town at the time and I've had such bad luck with other computer repair shops I decided to wait till I got home for them to take a look. Within a day they had an answer for me as well as options for me to get my computer going again! (I had dropped my laptop a few days prior to going out of town, that damaged my HDD inside of my computer and it was quickly failing). On their recommendation I decided to replace my failing HDD with a Solid State, it was a decision I do not regret. Not only is my computer faster than when I first bought it, the new drive is shockproof which I obviously need :) End all, I would HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone. The good news is that the owner and techies at Carolina Computer Solutions are friendly and will bend over backwards to satisfy a customer. On the competence issue, that is altogether different. Their proposed solution to my PC problem was to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows 10 and my existing programs. They told me it would take two days, then three days, then five. Then, they said my machine was working. Next day, they said my motherboard was not functioning. They did not know why. Said they had never seen a motherboard stop working like mine had done. The entire process took almost two weeks. After I picked up my desktop machine, they offered free support to make sure that all was in order. I did have problems; but preferred resolving them by going to Microsoft's and other software publishers' websites. After a couple of weeks, I called the owner of Carolina Computer to discuss my issues. He proposed another reformatting of my hard drive. I declined. I am not qualified to assess them on a technical level; but i know when something feels right and I definitely did not feel comfortable using them a second time. My recommendation is shop around. Check out alternatives before concluding that Carolina Computing is the best vendor to solve your problem. read more

Absolutely incompetent service. Told me they will be able to resolve my easy problem in a couple of days. A week later they still did not do anything and gave me an excuse that they've tried to call me to ask what they should do next and could not get through to me on my cell phone. read more

My experience with Carolina Computer Solutions was overall a terrible one. I initially needed a motherboard replacement. I was told that due to the nature of my system, a similar mobo would be over $200, and that it would make sense to replace the mobo, RAM, and the processer all at once for around the same price. Seemed logical, so i agreed. Over a week later, after having to call several times and always getting the run around, I was told all of my parts were destroyed in shipping. Seemed sketchy, but whatever. I was then told that they found a used motherboard that they would only charge $40 for, so we went that route. About a week later (2 weeks now) I got my repaired PC back. It was so sluggish and out of whack i ended up having to reinstall Windows, which isn't a big deal because I expected to have to do that (although I was told that i wouldn't need to by CCS). Two weeks later, I noticed that TWO STICKS OF RAM WERE MISSING FROM MY PC!!!!! When i first went to Carolina Computer Solutions, i had 3 sticks of RAM, when i got it back, I only had 1. Now furious, I stormed to their shop and told them i wasn't leaving without my hardware. To their credit, they apologized, and gave me two GB of RAM on the spot. I drove all the way home, installed it, only to find that the dumb asses DIDN'T even give me the correct kind of RAM. I went back AGAIN, explained that I need correct RAM (6400), and after a lot of stumbling, bumbling, and scratching through clutter in the back, Luke brought me 2 sticks of the correct RAM (at this point, i'm sure the actual hardware that they took from my machine was long gone). He even had the gall to act as if I was in the wrong, having me read the label on the RAM ( now being new sticks that both read 6400...which is what i needed in the first place), and saying "SEE"? I just wanted to turn to all the poor souls behind me waiting for service and tell them the truth about this crappy establishment.These guys look like they're fresh out of high school, and even though they were sometimes polite, they do not handle their business in a professional manner. They give the runaround,"forget to reinstall" hardware on the PCs that they disassemble, take way to long give "service",...the list goes on and on. Oh and i forgot to mention that the speaker line out jack was damaged and will not produce sound now, meaning i have to stretch the line around to the front of my tower and use the headphone jack....Luke said that a raindrop could have fell in it and caused crud or corrosion (i also overheard tons of questionable advice and consultation given to other customers - who were mainly older - like bad weather corrupting emails and other inaccurate explanations). What a mental midget that guy is. He said they would fix my speaker jack for free since they stand by their work, but i wouldn't let these guys work on anything of mine. Ever. Again. If i were to let them look at my line out jack, my guess is that he would call me two weeks later and say it was due to a virus, and then he would return my PC missing a power supply. read more
