Run. Do not use Carolina Climate Control. I have been waiting for 3 weeks for a follow up to repair a part and fill my refrigerant. After multiple days of a no show for the first visit, they finally came but didn't have enough Freon to even adequately finish that task. Was told they would come back in a couple days to finish the Freon refill and replace the part. No one has come back in over 3 weeks. Multiple "no shows" with no notification. Terrible communication. Rarely answer their phone and voicemail isn't set up. I repeat: Run to another company. If your warranty company chooses them for you, request a different contractor. read more

This company was sent out with our homewarranty company. They called us Monday morning (on Memorial Day) and I was thrilled to have them say they would be here between noon and 5 that day. 5 pm came and went and still nobody showed at our house. Called twice and left messages, finally got a call back at just after 6 saying the tech was on his way there was bad weather (but the tech that showed said and that our number got messed up on the work order so they couldn't call.) Ok, fine. They get here around 6:30 and found the contactor needed replacing. They did not have one with them. Tech said someone would contact me the next day to set up an appointment to install a contactor. Tuesday came and went, left two voicemails, no call back. Wednesday morning and early afternoon came and went, left two voicemails, again, no call back. Called the home warranty company, who also tried to contact them, no answer. Ended up canceling the work order and found a company that could come out same day and fix our AC! The techs that came to the house were polite, but some chemical stuff was left at my house accidentally that made me feel a little concerned beings I have a young child as well as dogs, but the tech was kind when he called and worked it out to pick it up right away. The communication for 99% of the experience was absolutely terrible and super frustrating. I even left voicemails that said "I have family in town, just let me know when you think you can come out so we can plan their visit and tours around it". Still no call backs with any updates or even confirmation they ordered parts. I would not recommend this company. There are far better companies (the one that I found to come out same day and fix this is even also authorized by my home warranty and was so much better with the communication and safety!) Put in a claim with my home warranty company. They assigned this company to fix the problem. They came out right away and found the problem. Then the problem started. They had to order a part which was OK but then I never heard back from them. The first call to them to come out was 5/14 I called on 5/17 to see if they had the part. They said they would be out on 5/18 to replace the part. The did not show or call. I then started my daily calls to them, I only got no answer and a message that said the mailbox was full. that continued for the entire next week. I finally had another company come out and the entire job took only 2 days. I would not recommend this company for anything. read more

Terrible. They dont deserve a 1 star to be honest! I was scheduled for a Friday appointment of 8 to 12. When asked if they dont have shorter time frames she said I can do 9 to 12. Not impressed with that response and that should of been my clue to get out! 2:30 comes on Friday and I had still not heard from them. I tried calling their office 2 times (before noon) personally and my wife did multiple times as well. Finally at 3PM I get someone on the phone and they inform me they cant come. Why did I have to call to be notified? Between all this my home warranty company was not able to make contact with them either. I was then resechudled for Monday. Again 8 to 12 time frame. I asked if we would be first call of the day and was told yes. I aso asked about a weekend chance and was told they do installs on the weekend but I could be "on call" if they finished an install early they could come work on my HVAC. Fast forward to Monday and again same issue. No call and noon comes and goes. 3:00PM comes so I decide to call the office. I ask for the owner who tried to put the blame on me and "he deals with people like me every day." He claims I was never scheduled for Friday, Saturday(on call if they finished their installs), or Monday. Again he placed that blame on me and said all of this was my fault! How that is my fault I dont understand. He wanted to know the number I called and I verified it was the office AND his personal cell which he failed to respond as well! I had asked for the service charge to be waived as my wife took the entire day off and the lady said she would have to clear that with the owner. She placed me on hold and came back to notify me it would be waived. So I know he had found out they missed the call on Friday. Upon talking with him Monday he informed me he would of taken care of my issue Saturday as he was in Wilmington all day on service calls. However, he claims he didnt know we were missed Friday so he never received notification to contact us Saturday. After making me feel like I was the one to pay for all of their mistakes, he let's me know he would of never waived the service fee. He didnt care to take ownership of the problem and even mentioned how mad he was, then tried to retract his words. It still baffles me that he could even try to blame me his customer. Only reason I stuck with them after the first mistake is because the claim was processed through my home warranty. Since this issue and phone conversation on Monday I have contacted my home warranty company and refused to use their service even for free, if they were even going to honor their word on waving my service fee still. No way do I trust a company who refuses to take the ownership of their problems and fails to show up twice to fix something with my house. Looks like I am not the first to have an issue with this company showing up for work. Hopefully this owner will learn to be humble and take ownership of issues within his company. read more

We were sent them from our warranty company 2/10 and 5 months later with Carolina Climate Control/Chris Barbour our AC replacement has not been done. He is a smooth talker in person but all conmen are. After numerous phone calls, taking time off from work and messages with Chris saying he will be here at specific times and dates absolutely nothing happened. Do not give him any payment of any kind. Do not waste a second of your time with this person or company. This company needs to be closed down! Make sure you scroll to the bottom and read the other 20+ negative reviews on yelp that for some reason is not recommended by yelp. We've been trying to get this company just to simply answer their phone (three numbers!) for over two weeks now. They don't answer their phone EVER. It took over a week for them to submit their diagnosis of our AC problem to our warranty company and now they haven't called us to schedule the approved fix AND they won't. answer. their. phone. so we can make the appointment ourselves. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star! We went through our home warranty and waited a week for a delivered part once the part was in we set the date of Friday right before Memorial Day to have the part on our unit fixed. Chris the guy who was suppose to come never showed up and cost us a days worth of pay sitting around waiting for him on top of that he didn't respond to our calls or texts until we called the warranty company. That night about 7:30 after we called yet again he stated he would come Saturday am from 8-12 we waited at 11:50 we called 2x no response we then called the warranty company again then he texted us upset we called the company stated he then would be there at 4:30 Saturday because he got behind but didn't get to the house till 7:30 he then recharge our free-on so we would at least have some cool air which worked but instead of fixing the coil he said he was tired it would take two hours could he come Monday and do it we agreed to that(not smart)...He never showed up yet again called at 730 at night to tell us when he was suppose to be there at 4. He then said Tuesday but never responded to what time and he never showed up and never called we had to call and text him he eventually responded to text and offered us a free service due to his lack of showing up ... we can't even get a paid service why would we want a free one. Then Wed am we called no answer or response we called again that afternoon which he didn't call us or gave us a time he would be there or even that he would be there. He said we can try and send someone out in an hour we told him we were at work he said ok and that he would come after we got home we agreed on 4 he never came! ... finally Thursday rolls around were pretty much done he says he can come out that evening. We tell him this is the last chance. He has someone drop a box off on our porch with our coil in it without us knowing he was even going to, and said he would be by to fix it that evening. Gets late so we text and call he didn't respond and he never came to fix the ac! I added some pics of our convos I left some parts with our address and his number out but this is pretty much the worst company I have ever experienced in my life I say company because who would keep someone like this employed that's a company issue! Horrible and I would say with a week of waiting for the part and five times of the technician no showing with out even a call or a text on some of the days I would say we were very patient! I do not recommend them at all!!!!! Funny he came in the rain on the Monday to fix the other reviewers ac but not ours after no showing us Friday! He was even in the area idk if everyone is like this guy Chris that we got but just to be safe don't use this company! He no showed with not even so much as a call or a text to let us know he wasn't coming and we always had to call the warranty place so they could get in touch with him that's the only time he responded really! Jay S. My Gaspak quit working and my Home warranty company contacted CCC. These folks dispatched a technician who was knowledgeable and courteous. He had the issues diagnosed and a game plan for repair in 20 minutes. When replacement parts arrived, a second crew returned to make the repairs. They worked extremely good together being attentive to the job at hand. I was pleasantly pleased when I felt the heat blowing. Man what a relief it was. My appointment was 11am-3pm. So I waited and waited till 2:30 but no calls what's so ever from tech so I called them. The receptionist told me she will get in touch with the technicians and get back to me. At 3pm, they still didn't call me so I called them back. The receptionist was not in a good mood at all. It has been 15 days since Carolina Climate Control has been out to diagnosis our AC unit problem and a total of 19 days without air conditioning. It has been tough​ getting someone to answer the phone, almost impossible to leave a message, AND if you can leave a message, no one returns your call. I had an appointment confirmed with the owner yesterday that they would be here today between 12-5 and no one has called or showed up. I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. 12 days ago we started the process of working with this contractor through the warranty company, of course. He showed quickly, and then the issues started. The company took 72 hours to turn the diagnosis into the warranty company. They do not return calls the majority of the time. The owner said he would be out Friday and did not show. I called this morning, Day 12, he ignored my call. He had no problem answering for the warranty company when I called them. He will give you excuse after excuse, but if you look at the reviews, you will know the truth. They are not staffed appropriately and that is apparent. The owner, Chris, had told us several times he would be out, always either at 10 am or 4 pm and was a no show and no phone call. Finally showed up late on a Friday afternoon and said we only needed Freon. The next day the air was not working. Said he would call on Saturday and never a phone call but I wouldn't have had him back out anyways. I work for a property management company and called in an AC problem to a home warranty company that assigned Carolina Climate Control at: 910-375-8300. Missed appointment on day four with our elderly tenant. Says, "I don't know what happened". Didn't answer phone from both tenant and property manager. They failed to show up again on Day FIVE and this morning on DAY six our tenant purchased two window units due to extreme heat and expected company. Six days and their phone can not or will not accept phone calls 100% of the time. Missed appointments and excuses for them. If I could give no stars, I would. This company is not closed to my knowledge, I had been in contact with "Chris" for quite a few weeks now in and out. I have constantly asked when he was coming, and I either got no response, or a "we will be there today" that lasted at least a week. When I finally had someone come out, I opened the door to a very.... large man that smelled of urine. He asked me what was going on with my unit, after multiple times of me telling him over the phone what was going on and him saying "I know exactly what it is, it'll be quick." That being said, he asked where my unit was, and when I showed him to the access to the unit, he couldn't fit , and said he had to "come back." Mind you, this is the man that stated that he was also OWNER of this company. Don't you think that you shouldn't be out in the field if you can't fit in attics?.... after another week of me calling repeatedly, he finally came back out with someone.... only for them to not fix the issue that was "quick." After all this, he tried to sell me a whole new system..... if you happen to read this, please..... choose another company, a group of five year olds could probably fix my a\c system better than said owner Chris can. read more

Multiple lies and work was never completed. Chris had my work order from 2-10 home warranty for over 45 days. He was quick to come to my home and diagnose and cash the check for the diagnosis fee but never returned to complete the work. His lack of communication led to the part never being ordered because he did not submit the diagnosis in a timely fashion and then claimed the unit was still under factory warranty, which it was not. After multiple attempts to contact the company Chris assured me that he was in possession of the broken part and he would come the following day to complete the repair between 12-5. He did not show up and did not call for an explanation or answer my calls. I contacted 2-10 to complain and they were able to contact Chris, he said that he would come out the following day between 12-5. This appointment resulted in the same result. He did not call with an explanation for the missed appointment and did not answer calls or text. The following morning I called Chris again and he apologized and said he was going to come after the job he was on in the morning. For the last time he did not call or answer calls about this missed appointment. I would stay as far away from this company as possible. Salt Air Heating and Cooling quickly came to the house to diagnose and repair my system and saved my family from dealing with the unbearable 90+ degrees. read more
