From the moment I called, the experience was seamless. CJ came out within a day or two, professionally assessed our situation, and gave us a quote for the chimney sweep. He also offered a ballpark idea of the gas line issue, noting that a technician would need to remove the logs to fully diagnose it. Once we realized our gas logs were over 20 years old, we decided to replace them--and CJ guided us through the process with ease. Within two days, we had selected a new fireplace insert, which was ordered and installed just weeks later. I opted to have the chimney swept and capped before the insert installation. I don't have much to add to the other 1* reviews found above mine, but this about outlines my complaints: 1) Sent someone out to do initial inspection and give me a quote. I paid the deposit (half the total) and scheduled an installation date two months out. 2) They proceeded to miss the initial install date because they went to the wrong job instead of my house. I got no calls telling me this until noon, at which point I had missed a half day of work to sit around waiting for them to show up. 3) They rescheduled for the next day, when David (the owner) showed up. He immediately discovered he didn't have the necessary materials because the original proposal was wrong. He had no good reason for why they did not do their job at the first visit two months prior. He then told me the materials would arrive on Thursday and he would 100% ensure that it was installed the following Saturday (his first available opportunity). During this visit he also made it clear to me that jobs like mine (a $3,000 job) were not big enough for him to really care, as most jobs bring in much more money. He also said he would be happy to give me back my deposit, but there's no way I could find someone else to do it in the area. I'm pretty sure that last statement is why they're still in business despite all the 1* reviews. 4) The following Saturday came and went with no phone call, but an email that informed me the supplies were backordered, and it was now going to be significantly more expensive than the original proposal. 5) I followed up with a phone call, at which point they said they would call back in an hour, and I have yet to hear back. This has happened literally every time I spoke to someone at the office, and have never gotten a return call. I always call back approximately 15-20 times with no answer (are they screening the calls?) and if I leave a voicemail I do not get a return call. I'm confused as to how they are still in business the way they treat customers, and as soon as I find someone else to complete the job I'll update the review with my recommendation so others reading it can go elsewhere.
