Main reason you go there is for their signature food. D- because it's the worst tasting canned beans for one. For two their chile rellenos are nasty. Took two bites and I was done. My husband and I have come here for years. The service has always been good. Today I guess our waitress decided to put politics into the mix and was very rude. She threw the bill at our table and decided to put a passive aggressive note on our bill because my husband is white. Mind you I had my granddaughter with me and we were never rude to her. This restaurant was very welcoming. The staff was amazingly friendly and checked on at the perfect times. Food came out quickly, and all correct. I ordered Tapiquenas sirloin steak and Horchata. My steak was cooked to the perfect medium I requested and was so tender and juicy. There was topped with plenty of onions, green chili, and cheese. The rice and beans were also very tasty. Had a good experience here. I've been twice and it was good both times. Everything was clean and they had staff constantly cleaning the front to keep it looking nice. The staff is friendly but they do get busy and sometimes take a while to get to you. The Jamaica is good. A little on the sweet side but I like it that way. The carnitas are a little dry so definitely needed the guacamole on the side. The caldo de res was really good. It had big chunks of meat and lots of veggies. So I was there today. I come here about once a week. Food is good. Somehow, today the service was not up to par. It was very slow and in addition, a young man a waiter was on the back booth laying down asleep, next to him was a large mop and a bucket right in the dining area. Our waitress took our drink order and we placed our food order as well. My wife ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I the Green Chile Chicken Chilaquiles with Eggs. Our food was quickly served with salsa and chips. My wife said her plate was very good and her eggs cooked as she had requested, over-medium. As for my plate, I ordered mine over-easy and they were a bit too easy as they looked undercooked so they served me up a replacement plate quick and the eggs were a bit better. The green Chile was Tomatillo based and not spicy at all, the green chile table salsa would have been a better option. The coffee hit the spot and our waitress was polite and helpful. read more

Unfortunately the food was not good. The carnitas meat is very dry. The waitress is a wonderful girl but unfortunately does not know how to attend to a customer probably due to company policy. We told her the meat was dry and she offered to bring more meat. Now this is after we've already had to meet for about 30 minutes and my plate is still untouched because I know good food. I had to go to the restroom and while I was in there my wife told her about the meat and that was her response. I've been back for 15 minutes already and they have not approached us at all. Carnitas Queretaro can be either a hit or miss. They had some good food items and some just not completely there. For example the guacamole was really good, but the tacos were okay. The tortillas were fresh but the ranchero beans was missing something. We got a queso fundido, the cheese was different but it was good. I didn't like the fact that we seemed to only get chips and salsa once and we never got more. Also, not all of the chips were completely cooked, which sucks because they were soggy. Lastly, I ordered a cheese red enchilada on the side, and the sauce they used just wasn't good. So... hit or miss for everything. As for the service, it was okay. Checked out this local Mexican restaurant after a long drive in from California. Decent food, but I needed to go to the bathroom and it was NOT stocked (no seat covers, no soap, no toilet paper ). I even politely asked the manager to service the bathroom. I finished my amazing meal, with an uncomfortably full bladder. In desperation, I checked just before I left because I felt like I was about to burst ... aannddd ... NOTHING. It didn't get done. I didn't say anything a second time because if I wasn't heard the first time, what makes me believe that these folks will listen. But really I had to go pee!!! Undependable hosts and an unpredictable bladder isn't a good combo. I couldn't trust it would get done before my extreme kegel skills failed me and I pee on myself. My husband was born and raised in Mexico and said this reminded him of being back home, so I trust that lol. It was amazing, and the tortillas with it were so warm and amazing as well. I hav]e always gone out to eat at Carnitas Queretaro and they have always replaced the chips with tortillas (they have always given me this option). Today they charged me $3 for the replacement. When I asked why the manager, Kimberly and Blanca said the policy was that any replacement had a $2 charge. I explained to them that this option had been provided to us in the past and that is why we always ask for it. The manager argued with us and gave us a hard time, finally she removed the charge. We go there once a week, I am amazed that they are willing to lose a customer over corn tortillas. Not sure if it's because other people loves it or for the same reason as mine....This was the only Mexican restaurant in the area that was open and I was disappointed with the food. Perhaps because of my own personal preference but I didn't like that the tortillas for the enchiladas. They were so thick and it did not help that they were barley stuffed with any meat. The sauce wasn't anything special either. The rice and beans were okay nothing great. The salsa for the chips were pretty spicy, don't get me wrong I can handle some spice. But that salsa was not enjoyable because my mouth was on fire. My mother ordered flautas, which I got to have a bite of, they were good.
