Place has things you couldn't find anywhere in Pcola (as far as I'm aware)…read more Located just off Pensacola blvd and nine mile rd They have 2 building served as a restaurant and the store itself, Staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. CLEAN and organized Tons of authentic items, foods, cheeses , produce on and on.... To many to list. 4 stars just because price, but that's honestly because of the selection you couldn't find except here. Added some photos so go check this out next time you're in the area!!!! Will not disappoint

Love this Mexican grocery!…read more The bakery here makes some yummy breads. LOVE the Super delicious Mexican sandwich "Torta" bread made fresh daily AKA baked Bolillo buns. We use combos of Fried fish or Carne, chorizo, al pastor meats, beans, avocados, Mexican Oaxaca cheese, chopped fresh piña, cilantro, jalapeño & sliced red onion etc., to stuff the Torta with. Of course hot salsa too! In our case, fresh made habanero salsa. All ingredients which you can purchase here. The little fresh produce section in back has everything you need to whip up some super fresh yummy authentic Mexican foods. Ole! Also, the coolers in back have all kinds of Mexican drinks, fruit juices, coconut waters, beers to wash it all down with. Tons of Mexican brand drinks & snacks. They also carry all the usual seasonings, adobo, mole, tamarind, chipotle, etc., and tons of dried chili's! Ancho, Guajillo & Arbol The Holy Trinity of Chiles, plus New Mexico reds, hatch etc., a beautiful selection of dried chili's. I make my own chili con carne all the time & get all my chili's from here. The only thing they do NOT carry here is the green hatch chili's. Bottled or fresh. I usually get those in season "fresh" from Baileys. Also, what I love about This Mexican grocery is they carry all kinds of Mexican imported goods. Clothing, leather goods, Religious items, hats, pots, pans, glasses, toys, jewelry & POTTERY!!! I have purchased many pieces of hand painted, lead free signed pottery from here. The Mexican pottery collection is gorgeous. The little taco shop inside/next door is also fantastic. They make amazing tacos & tamales. They Serve Beer only. The best time to shop here is weekday, the weekends are super busy, packed wall to wall, people bustling about everywhere, yes, it's really that good. Ole! Highly recommend.

I would rate this place a 0 if I could. I ordered meat for tacos, and when the employee ran out…read morewhile preparing my order, he went to the back to get more to finish it. When I got home, I noticed the meat had long pieces with nerves and connective tissue in it. I asked the butcher what cut it was, and he said it was chuck roll. However, as a butcher myself, it looked much more like shoulder clod. There was also a 3.25% surcharge for credit card use added to my purchase, even though I paid with a debit card. When I called the store about the issue, they told me I could come back. When I arrived to request a refund, instead of helping resolve the problem, I had three employees arguing with me at once. They claimed they couldn't give a full refund because of "tax" and the "credit card fee," even though they never even looked at my receipt to verify how I paid or what was actually charged. Another employee insisted there was tax on the meat, which shouldn't apply to uncooked food. Rather than owning the mistake, they kept directing me to speak with the meat department for an exchange when all I wanted was a refund. I also asked to speak with a manager, and they said no manager was available. On top of that, the sanitation practices were concerning. The man working in the meat department was not wearing gloves or a beard net, even though he had a beard. I also saw him grabbing beef feet with his bare hands. That is not sanitary and definitely not what I expect to see in a meat department. As a Mexican butcher myself, I'm honestly disappointed in both the customer service and the quality of the meat. The situation was handled very poorly, and the meat is overpriced for the quality. I definitely won't be coming back.

The entrance to this unassuming spot feels almost deliberately off-putting at first--plain facade,…read morea sign directing you to a side door that leads straight through an attached market. It's a clever (or perhaps just pragmatic) setup; that market itself is a gem, stocked with an impressive array of authentic Spanish and Mexican goods. We'll definitely return for provisions alone. Inside the dining room, the space is spotless if somewhat dated--simple, no-frills decor that prioritizes function over flair. Our server was cheerful and energetic, a bright presence, though service proved inconsistent; she largely vanished after taking our order, leaving us to wait an inexplicable 30-plus minutes for food despite only two other tables occupied. When plates finally arrived, the portions were strikingly generous, almost comically so for the price point. We began with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa carried decent freshness and a mild kick, but it wanted for seasoning--more salt, a bolder hit of garlic and cumin would have elevated it from passable to memorable. No refills appeared, which felt stingy given the "free" promise. The horchata, however, shone: creamy, deeply flavored with cinnamon and vanilla notes, refreshingly cool and well-balanced--one of the better versions I've encountered recently. The carnitas dinner plate delivered on volume: a mountain of moist, crisped pork that had all the textural appeal one hopes for--tender interior, satisfying crunch on the edges--yet it arrived curiously underseasoned, lacking the salty, savory depth that should define the dish. Homemade refried beans were a highlight: smooth, flavorful, clearly made in-house with real care. The Mexican rice held good seasoning too, though it verged on dry. Steak fajitas followed the same pattern--giant heaps tender strips of beef and soft, well-cooked vegetables in generous heaps, but again, flavor felt muted, as if the seasoning hand had been unusually light. It's puzzling: everything executed competently, meats tender, produce fresh, yet the palate kept searching for that missing punch of spice, acid, or salt. No where else in COLGA gives this much steak, so very grateful. The shrimp cocktail appetizer (small portion) justified its price through quality ingredients--clean, plump shrimp in a classic tomato-based sauce--but it was straightforward, nothing transcendent. The queso fundido with chorizo fared far better: authentic, house-made chorizo with real spice and depth, melded into creamy, stretchy queso that felt genuinely homemade and deeply satisfying. Desserts redeemed much of the meal. The tres leches cake was textbook--moist without being soggy, richly soaked in the three milks, properly sweet and authentic in texture. The chocoflan, though, was the standout: flawless layering, silky flan with just the right caramel note, dense chocolate cake beneath, executed with evident skill and genuine flavor. In the end, this place offers undeniable value through abundance and some authentic touches (those beans, the queso, the desserts), alongside a market worth the trip alone. But the persistent lack of seasoning across the savory dishes left the experience feeling curiously flat. It's hard to muster enthusiasm for a return meal when so much potential goes unseasoned. Still, another visit to explore different menu items isn't out of the question--perhaps the kitchen's bolder preparations will hit the mark. For now, it's a solid neighborhood option for quantity and certain homemade elements, but one that needs more confidence behind the seasoning to truly impress.
