Like I always say,…read moreI hate showing up to someone's house empty handed so I popped open Yelp on my phone and found this awesome meat shop. It's a bit hard to find as it's actually inside a larger grocery store... so once you walk into the entrance, head all the way to the back and to the right (not to be confused with the deli meat counter, go passed that). I got 2lbs of NY Strip steak and they were cut perfectly. I used a cast iron pan, put it on high heat and I let it get reallly hot as I prepped the steaks (while watching a youtube steak cooking tutorial at the same time... it's always helpful to have a reminder). I patted the steaks dry, added some grinded pink himalayan salt, pepper and garlic and seared them over some ghee butter for about 3 minutes on each side. I overdid them a little bit as I tried gettting fancy and covered it with another pan for about a minute. Next time I'll probably skip that step but all in all, it came out delicious! My friends were pretty impressed with my youtube cooking skills but there's always room for improvement. Oh and I forgot to mention the best part... their customer service! When I went to pay I realized I left my wallet at home and they were totally going to hold the steak for me for when I got back. Luckily, they also took apple pay so I was good to go, but I really appreciated that they didn't scoff or make it a big deal! I told my buddy who lives in the area all about them and he's excited to give them a try himself. While I wasn't a fan of the grocery store (it seemed like none of the customers there had an aisle manners), I can't blame them for that.

Came for restaurant week and made the earliest reservation at 11:30a. Just an FYI, they only had the RW lunch menu (no dinner) which consists of a 2-course lunch for $60pp. They open at 11:30a, so the hostess sat us by the bar right away while they got ready for the day. The bartender made sure to let us know that he'd be ready if we needed anything. We were seated in the first floor dining area and a server came quickly. While we were looking over the menus, another server came and gave us bread and water while we waited. Here is what we ordered from the RW lunch menu: - Yellow fin tuna tartare: Calabrian chilies with crispy shallots - Green goddess chopped salad - NY Strip steak: medium - filet mignon: medium rare Here is what we ordered outside the RW menu: - whipped potatoes - dry-aged porterhouse meatballs - double espresso - chocolate cake stand: amarna cherries, sliced crunchies, malt ice cream Everything was made to perfection and the serving sizes were generous. We were reuniting with a friend we hadn't seen in nearly a decade and we couldn't have picked a better spot to catch up. Two bottles of white later we nearly finished the butter service and enjoyed some escargot and their steak frites. We threw in a chopped salad and finished it off with their caramel dessert that somewhat resembled a tiramisu. Upon lifting the cylinder sleeve the delicious and light caramel sauce pours over the cake with crunch chocolate nibs sprinkled on top. When my in-laws come to town, they bring is meat from Fisher Brothers in manhattan, which is delicious but too rich for our blood. We got an offering from living social for $100 of meat for $50. We went in and spoke with the butchers and owner. They were all incredibly helpful and knowledgable. We bought some beautiful rib steaks and skirt steak. We made the skirt steak the other night and it was AWESOME!!! Tender and flavorful. I couldn't have been happier. Can't wait to try the rib steak and go back to buy more. So glad to have found Aarons!
