It takes me about 15 minutes by car to get here and it is a synch to find. Parking is super ample. In fact there are three different parking lots. The trails are so well marked and plotted that there is almost no way to get lost. I admit at first try I got a bit side tracked, but then found my way in a few minutes. Be ready for friendly four legged furries coming over to say hello to you. I was actually pretty stoked about this, but some people are not so big on dogs. I took the perimeter trail down the hill and stumbled upon the hidden pond and little falls trail. It was super peaceful and beautiful there! I also saw tons of beautiful flowers and even spotted a butterfly. The sound of birds singing was lovely to hear during my walk. If you need a rest there are a few benches along the trail. I really enjoyed exploring this place and will be back to explore further.

Quite a statement, I…read moreknow, but there was something genuinely arresting about sitting at the confluence of three major rivers - the Allegheny, the Ohio and the Monongahela - and punctuating the green space with an unshielded fountain that shoots water 150 feet into the air (Photo 10). The park is not that big, just 36 acres. When I visited just before the dead of winter, I was struck how empty it was, especially the Great Lawn where I would've expected more adventurous urban travelers to be tramping about. But no, it was mostly just me enjoying the views of the surrounding city including the Fort Pitt and Fort Duquesne bridges. Situated across from a popular miniature golf location, the park features basketball and tennis courts, a soccer field, a skatepark, a dog park (sectioned by dog size), and other family friendly features. You admittedly won't find any major trails to explore here, as the park isn't big enough for that. It's also heavily geared towards family friendly outings and local youth sports games. But those features are exactly what make this place such a nice addition to Carnegie. And no matter what, you'll still have plenty of greenery to take in and enjoy! If I had to name a downside about this place, getting to the park by anything other than car can be less than ideal. Sidewalks cease to exist in certain areas surrounding the park, so if you don't want to drive in, you'll need to stroll in with caution. Other than that, though, I have no complaints - and I'll still walk here on a semi-regular basis to get some exercise, clear my head, and see what my fellow community members are up to with their families and dogs.
