The butchers will give you ideas on how to prepare meats. For example, the last time I stepped in they had a cut called a cowboy cut. I had never heard of it. At $17 a pound, I wasn't taking any risks so I asked for advice. my daughter and I loved the meaty flavor with a respectable chew. VERY flavorful. Caution: you will not be able to resist all the fresh organic grass fed and finished beef. You will leave much poorer than when you arrived but you will eat really well. surprise of my visit: fresh wild-caught halibut . It was the best HALIBUT I have ever consumed. Absolutely gorgeous to look at and beautiful to prepare. Super expensive so make it a treat for that special night in. I opted for the Banh Xeo Crepe, a Vietnamese savory crepe with pork. A tear and eat with your hands type dish, the addition of all the different aromatics makes this a extremely unique dish. Went back thinking we had a bad bag and was told it's "old school jerky" but in all our years of trying different jerky (homemade and bought) we never had stuff that crumbled like that freeze dried astronaut ice cream. It's summer, it's hot, so of course expect the heat to sizzle up but if you pop in a bit on the earlier side you'll be sure to have a breezy experience. The day we went they even had a cooler with free ice to chill off! I loved the layout of this market and the amount of different vendors there and variety. From cute tote bags to dog treats and fresh produce. Beacon's Farmers market has you covered with so many local businesses ready to welcome you. It's the perfect chance to do a little stroll if you're in Beacon but also a great chance to discover and shop local. Many years ago there was a place called Casa Moneo on 14th street in Manhattan that catered to the Hispanic community. Now there's an on line place called La Tienda that does the same thing. We were surprised to see the variety of pan-hispanic foods and utensils there. And no wait or the inability to examine what you want. Their produce displays were impressive.
