Do not buy a car from them!!! It's took them 2 weeks to get all paperwork in order, and still out wrong information on! Also 3.5 weeks later wanted the car back! Even though everything was done and approved! If we had the time and energy we would of taken it further and kept the car! They wouldn't even tell my husband why they wanted to back out of the deal, the finance manager refused to speak to my husband, and would not give him any reason as to why! Our credit got ran multiple times and for nothing! Our credit scores dropped big time because of this! This is the last place you want to buy a car from. I've always bought my cars at the big box dealerships but they had the car I was looking for so I went to check it out. There was a nicer car on the lot that I casually mentioned would be nice to own & they said they could get me in if I wanted it. We ran the numbers, & they told me the bank wanted me to have a little higher income. So they suggested that I inflate my earnings & try another bank. I told them I wasn't gonna lie to the bank, that's blatant fraud. As soon as I said that the salesman went to get his manager who is also his uncle or something. The dude came out & was immediately being rude & condescending. Tried to get passed it, & went for a cheaper car instead. I drove it home & the next morning it wouldn't start. When it finally did I drove it straight to the dealership & they offered to fix it or put me in another car. I told them I didn't want another car, I was going to another dealership. Salesman goes to get his uncle & the guy comes out fuming, yelling & cursing me saying "you're f*cking crazy if you think you're leaving this lot without a car". They had me in a bend. It was either I take another car or be stuck with the dud they sold me. I reluctantly chose another car. Service was terrible & cold from this point on. A few days later I get a call from the bank asking me to confirm some details in my application. These guys had inflated my income without me knowing. I told the bank about my experience with them & how they pushed me to lie earlier but I wasn't for it. Thankfully, the bank took my side & stopped the loan from being issued. I took the car back & that sleazy manager told me no other dealership would get me into a car & I was an idiot for not playing along. I went to a big box dealership the same day where they treated me like family & put me into a certified pre owned car with no issues. I'll never buy from a small dealer again. I have bought four cars in the course of two years, I put an extra guarantee on all of them. The last car I bought had a transmission failure after 6 months. I called JC from the Carmotive service area to activate the extra guarantee and coordinate what should be done. I've been on this for almost two weeks and they haven't resolved the issue and everyone fools me by saying that they are waiting for a confirmation that takes 48 hours, then 48 hours more that they will call me in two hours, etc. and nobody tells me anything, I have to be calling. Really be very careful with this issue of the extra guarantee and buying in this place because they do not fulfill what they offer you, and they only cause you a problem by paying for a car with an extra guarantee that is useless. read more

I just wanted to update and renew my review. We have had the car for a couple years now and it has been nothing but problem after problem. We have spent thousands of dollars fixing it. Hundreds on multiple alignments alone. This car has definitely been in at least one accident that was not on their report. We would love to sell it but we still owe more than it's worth and unlike Carmotive, my conscience won't allow me to sell a potentially life threatening lemon to anyone. I have never heard anything from Carmotive. Not even a simple apology. I will admit though, at the time my wife purchased the car, we had not met yet and she didn't know a whole lot about cars. Just goes to show you, though, how they see people like that as prey instead of someone they want to help. I informed them that if they were not willing offer the same price or higher then to forget it and let's not waste each other's time. They informed me that they could do better, so an appointment was scheduled. At the appointment they proceeded to lowball me out at 35% less than the other offers I had received. They didn't drive the car, turn it on, or even look inside the car. I hate it when people waste my time and play me for an idiot. I sold the car private party within less then 24 hours after posting online for 2.5 times more than they offered me. First and foremost I want to say that I am thankful for them getting a car for me asap. Same day with a co-signer. However moving forward it was a nightmare. How people have given this place 5 stars baffles me given how many horror stories I have heard and experienced. We had to go back 3 times to sign paperwork. The shady business actually had Coast Hills DENY my loan a week after, I had to go back and re-do it again. Mind you I was working 2 full time jobs so super inconvenient - but I needed to buy a new car after an accident so I had to push quickly. I wish I would have gone another place. I was so eager to get the car I did not inspect it as much as I should have. Not only were there scratches and chips all throughout the paint, but I noticed a raise where the stereo is. The manual for the stereo showed a different stereo, which made sense why the stereo did not work. They did not care to help but sent me to a different company to look at it, they could not help me. I am fortunate that I knew someone at Ford Buellton who was able to help me get it set up correctly. When my coast hills loan went through and the woman started the inspection she claimed they have had nothing but issues with Carmotive. ALL OF MY TIRES were different ages and brands. I've had issues left and right and ended up buying new tires. I can't afford getting a full paint job to fix the chips ALL throughout the car, sadly but I will survive. Then whilst waiting for my plates I never got anything, I drove around for months sans plates. I am fortunate that I never got pulled over, so when one of my odd tired gave this week I went over to the great tire shop behind the place who also confirmed the tires were all not the same nor the same age. I get it is a used car but for how much I Had to get a loan for this car it is unbelievable!!! I went to the office at 9, greeted as an nuisance. I explained I was a customer who never got plates. She was kind and changed her attitude after she knew I was a customer ( the week before when I called the man who answered said he could not help me with my plates and hung up ) they called ONCE for me to get my plates. This is not a $100 dollar purchase this a purchase that ends up being over $20k between used and different tires, excuses for not getting my plates to me, hidden scratches and chips in paint, and what looks like a stereo change I am so angry with myself with my purchase, damage and rust that was not immediately noticeable. Not to even mention the horror stories from friends And family who told me their experiences that they had here. Even the tow truck I just dealt with said his gf had a contract revoked!!! It took her 5 to 6 months to get her $4k down payment back!!!! Coast Hills even doesn't like doing business with them if that gives you a clue. Please do your full research before getting a car here. It will be a nightmare unless you ensure your way through. I don't usually enjoy being a bad reviewer but this place does not deserve 5 stars. I'm sure most of the clients are taken advantage of.
