Mario and his team were wonderful to work with. They did a great job with installing window tint, springs, body kit installation, ppf, ceramic coating, and powder coating wheels. Fairly priced and most importantly did quality work. Would highly recommend! read more

Right off the bat, I already had good feelings about this place based on the communication aspect from Mario. I had my car serviced here for springs/spacers and it looks more beautiful than before. Thank you team and congrats Betsy on your day 2! read more

TLDR: come wrap your car here if you want it to be wrapped by incompetent amateurs. And if you criticize their ppf work, they'll insist that they do "paint protection not paint perfection". Check the photos for just how badly they messed up our car, and ask yourself if this is what you want your car to look like. I initially visited this business in late 2025. I, like you and countless other prospective clients, saw that they are a well-reviewed and mature car wrap serving the Bay Area, and they are even certified Inozetek wrap dealers. Unfortunately, I had the (mis?)fortune of totaling my car that year and wasn't able to do the wrap with them. However, I held them in high regard and was eager to recommend the shop to all of my friends. When my boyfriend bought a Lotus Emira in the summer of 2026, I eagerly recommended that he bring his car to Carmodz, and so we brought the car together under my advice. We were greeted by Brandon. They had a GT3RS parked out front and he opened up the doors to let us inspect the corners. I let him know we were looking for a high quality wrap job, meaning tucking the wrap into all the edges and corners. This is where the miscommunication begins. He shows us the GT3RS, we compliment the corners and see that it's tucked well, and I remember distinctly saying that we're looking for this kind of quality. So we got around to pricing, and we agree on $4200. After a few hours of leaving it at the shop, we notice the car isn't being worked on, since there was no availability until the next week to start, so we took the car out with a $1000 down payment. The day after we get a facetime complaining about water spots. They demanded we pay them extra money to polish off the spots. My boyfriend said that we definitely wanted to address that before starting the wrap and that they should call us back with the actual quote (they called us without having a number of how much it would cost). After a few hours we found out they had already started the "polish" and said we would just have to pay. They quoted us a much higher number, and we said no you started working on our car without confirming the price, but we'll still pay $200. They messaged my boyfriend later telling him that they were mad he let me talk during the phone call, and that they only wanted to talk to him, not his partner, because it's not my car? So we leave them to continue with the job, letting them know that we would like the car for Monterey car week, but we never implied in any capacity to them that we would like the job to be rushed and compromise on quality for this specific event. The week leading up to the first weekend, they message us to say the car is ready. We show up, and find the car in this state (pictured). I run around the shop with my boyfriend, agitated that this has happened, and we express our frustration to the shop techs. Apparently the owners already left for Monterey car week. So absolutely we did not take delivery or make the rest of the payment. The shop techs seemed stressed and called Mario, who was very dismissive of our concerns. That night, Brandon calls my boyfriend. The same shpiel on the film being precut and not a custom "full lay", to which we were indignant that on the day we agreed to let them do the work, they heavily implied they would be doing a full lay on our car like the GT3RS, and conveniently forgot to clarify this until the wrap was on the car and it was too late to stop the work. And then, Brandon lays into my boyfriend, demanding to know what girl he brought to pick up the car, and demanding that communication needs to be between him and my boyfriend alone. Says he pulled the camera footage from the shop and saw us running around the car and like telling all the imperfections to the shop techs, who called Mario, to which Brandon is like, why are you talking to Mario, everything you do should be through me, now you got someone else involved and I look bad etc. So there are rules on who you can talk to in the shop now if you get your car wrapped here? We go in person to check on the car and sign their newly proposed contract, and both Mario and Brandon are there. Mario seems somewhat apologetic and they admit that they didn't check the car before it was released to us. They ended up being extremely rude to us so we end up taking the car back and going with someone else. *all of the photos posted were taken on my phone by me, and I was present for everything reported in this review *i wrote and stand behind every word of this review, this is my experience and no one else's read more

38carmodz is THE place to go for all car services from wrapping, to installing mods, to basic maintenance services. The owner Mario is super friendly and communicative and walked me through the whole process of getting my project done. Their prices are super fair as well. I took my MK5 Supra here to get some work done (Lowering, mirror cap swap, aero kit). All of the work was done within the same day and the car looked absolutely insane! I chopped it up with Mario and some of the guys and they were all very helpful and gave me good advice for my other projects. This place is a one stop shop that literally can do anything and everything. I wanted to get a wrap and upholstery done in the future, and Mario walked me through the materials they use and how that process would work. I definitely recommend coming here for all your aftermarket car needs and I will be back to finish up my other projects. read more

I've had a lot of headaches with car shops in the past--places that either misdiagnose the problem or try to squeeze every dollar out of you. But Mario? Totally different story. From the start, he was upfront, honest, and actually took the time to figure out what was wrong. No fluff, no pressure. Just straight talk and real solutions. He even gave me solid advice on maintenance, not to upsell, but to keep me and my car safe in the long run. That kind of care and attention is rare. I don't usually trust shops around here, but with Mario, I feel like I'm in good hands. Some of my guys go to him now too, and we all say the same thing: this is the shop we've been looking for. CarModz is officially my go-to. read more

I don't know who else to recommend with great amount of flexibility, trust and creativity. Who else would call you bro on day one and produces quick turn overs with quality work and execution to what he says. I came over for him to look over my air setup on my Tesla Model 3, I wanted to reduce noise, make it more practical when it comes to maintenance and also make it look good. I expected the work to take 3 days worth to look into but, Mario turned the project around in one day. Carmodz is fairly priced and provides open minded suggestions, Mario is great to work with. Also, if you're curious about their wraps, Ronaldo is a cool guy to talk to that's in Carmodz. I'm definitely coming for more projects like wraps or even some wheel works. Thanks Mario and his team, y'all gained a happy local customer! read more

I've gotten 2 of my cars bagged there. Both times left with check engine light. The first time I thought it was a fluke. So I took 2nd car to get worked on and same. The first timw the check engine light went on and had a lot of issues with my car when I left and Mario was saying my car probably had the check engine light for a while. I never had a CEL before. I take car home and tell me why they tapped into an ecu fuse. Like wtf. I move the tap to an accessory fuse and cel gone. 2nd car got bagged and I got another cel. Same deal. They tapped into an ecu fuse. I take my car to get height sensors at another shop (tired but f getting cel from modz) and they tell me 1 compressor isn't working. Modz didn't even check it. I bought new compressors and wire cuz they told me to and they didn't even wire it right. No wonder my tank would fill too slow. Once your car leaves the lot, they are the hardest to get a hold of. read more

It was previously known as 38 Carmodz, but now Carmodz, Mario, and his brother were super helpful to me. I brought in my car to get quite a few things done, including: Aircup suspension, throwout bearing, lsd and lsd bushings installed. Not only did they meet my expectations, but they also did the jobs for a very fair price. Mario was super responsive and communicated well. They specialize in Nissan and Infiniti. So, if you own any cars under that brand, send them on over to Mario and his team. I am confident that they can get anything you need fixed or installed on it. I am happy that I was recommended to them. Will be going back to them for future upgrades/service. 10/10 read more

I have gotten alot of work done at 38carmodz, all I can say is it is not worth the money and not worth your time. if your willing to sit and wait 5 hours every single time you go to get anything done even a simple oil change just be prepared for that wait time. ive been told to come at 12 and I've left at 5pm it's ridiculous these guys don't know how to manage the different cars that they have to work on and leave people waiting forever your better off just leaving the car but even then the work they do isnt worth what you will be paying. They are all pretty helpful but the waits and everything else is just a shame. read more

Called, got a quote, and they had me in within the next hour. I was greeted upon arrival and everyone working was very friendly. I was allowed into the garage to see all the cars and what work was being done to them. Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere, not to mention the cool cars. It's clear that everyone here enjoys what they do. The work being done on my car was a small job but they still took it seriously with three people working on it. The job was done quickly and perfectly. They were not in a rush to get me out and we had a nice conversation about cars. I can't imagine anyone coming here and not being completely satisfied. I've been fussing with installing a car stereo that did not come with screws that would fit where it needed to be mounted in my vehicle. The dash kit I purchased also did not have screws that would fit my radio so I was stuck after visiting several local stores and coming up empty because they don't sell screws with the proper thread pitch or head. I thought to visit a shop that installs car stereos and this was close by my house. I stopped in randomly on a Saturday and a few very friendly people were happy to chat about what I was doing. One gentleman took the time out of his day to look through all of their spare screws to find four that would fit my radio and have the correct type of head. It was just a kindness that resolved so much frustration for me and I can't thank them enough. read more
