The anchor tenant is Safeway, located toward the back of the shopping center. That is where much of the traffic comes from and results in difficulty finding parking if you're planning to patronize the other businesses in the center. Another big draw is Starbucks, which is situated directly at the front of the plaza, and which always seems to be packed full of customers, both inside and outside. Some of the shopping center's businesses are located on the second floor of the two-story building that is occupied by nine tenants. If you enjoy going to dive bars, Farrington's is a popular watering hole for the locals, located on the ground floor next to the two-story building. There are many eateries among the tenants within the center: + Nation's Giant Hamburgers + Mountain Mike's Pizza + Taqueria Los Gallos Express + Plaza Cafe + Matsu Sushi + MAI ZO Taiyaki + Thai Osha + Orange Leaf + Milk Tea Lab In addition, there are several lifestyle tenants as well: + Skincare by Hope + TJ Salon and Spa + New Spring Day Spa Plus, there are some essential tenants: + SAS Shoes + Diablo Trophies & Awards + GMG Cleaners + Union Bank At the far end of the shopping center, in its own free standing building, are a few more tenants: + Trendy Nails Spa + Pleasant Hill Dental + Chase Bank + GOLDSMITH

This review is ONLY about the changes to the way you pay for parking…read more The new parking app makes me never want to shop at Broadway Plaza ever again, and I've been shopping there since I was a girl in the 80s. There was a period of time when I probably shopped at Broadway Plaza 1-2 times PER MONTH (now I'm stuck paying off my credit cards but that's my own fault and a separate issue). What was wrong with the old system? It worked just fine. But now you have to download an app to get out of the parking garage, EVEN IF you were there for less than the three hours of courtesy parking. It's absolutely insane. And even worse, there's NO cell reception in the garage (at least with AT&T) so you can't download the app without returning to the open air mall. Maybe that's why they changed things up? So that for people who haven't been to Broadway Plaza since before the app was rolled out, they might be able to charge for more time? It's unbelievable. And... you have to enter a bunch of personal information. Why do I need to download an app to pay for parking after I've already shopped at the mall, potentially pushing one of the tenants over their percentage rent breakpoint? It's outrageous. I don't mind having the ParkMobile app for parking because it allows me to park on many different cities' streets with little to no hassle. So I'm not anti-parking app. I am anti-Metropolis parking app. At least before, you got a time-stamped ticket so you knew exactly when to leave if you wanted to avoid paying. Now you have to remember to check the precise time you entered the garage, assuming it's even time-stamping accurately. And how do you know precisely where it time-stamps you? Macerich, do better. Relegate this parking situation to the annals of retail hell. Thank you for your consideration. [curtsy]

While there's no longer music that plays in the morning and the main street is now closed to…read moretraffic, Broadway Plaza is still one of my favorite places to be in Walnut Creek. There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year.

It has such a nice layout, they have a water fountain area thar feels like a mini Bellagio (Vegas Strip) water show. This space also has the Luxe Movie Theater and big play area for kids. They have lots of great eateries like fancy Italian, Mexican, Shabu Shabu as well as chains like Yard House and Dave N Busters. Also, they have lots of shopping options, Whole Foods, and a plethora of other stores. Our favorite stops include the Humphrey Slocombe ice cream shop, Wine Bar and Barnes and Noble. The only reason for the 4/5 stars is how hard it is to park on the weekends. Stop by sometime, you'll have a blast!

There's plenty of places to shop and plenty of places to eat and probably fits with budgets of all different sizes. It has the staples that you tend to see at other outlet malls and centers but have unique eateries and shops as well. During this time of year (November), there's also an ice rink that lots of people seem to enjoy. Some family wanted to go to Sephora and man it was packed! Which is not surprising, since we were there on the busy shopping day of the year. I got to do some other browsing at J Crew. It was a short trip overall, but I can easily see people spending hours here if they needed to do some serious shopping. Came here with family because they wanted to do some shopping on Black Friday. It was really hectic as you would expect. The parking situation was pretty crazy and it took a while of driving around and luck to get a parking spot.
