I really enjoyed my time there and thought that they did a great job. One of the things that I really liked was that I always worked with the same therapist, Tri. Tri was great and asked me lots of questions about what my desires were for post-operative life, and came up with a treatment plan designed specifically for me. He always listened to what I had to say and then would modify a day's treatment to address any problems I may have had since my last visit. The treatments never felt rushed and I really felt I got the most out of the regime. They also seemed to have a strict COVID protocol which they followed closely, so I was never concerned with catching the virus during a visit. I would highly recommend Terrapin to anyone who needs PT on the Monterey Peninsula.

I went in with a torn calf muscle from basketball, after 2 weeks on crutches, hoping to return to the court in 8-12 weeks. I chose Performance PT almost solely bc they had quick availability while other places were scheduling weeks out, and I wanted to get started right away. The facility was excellent, clean, and bright. Dana at the front desk was really nice and helpful. Avery, the PT, was amazing--so knowledgeable and so fun to talk to. I saw her twice a week, always looked forward to it, and went away with lots to do on my own at home. After 7 (!) weeks I was able to return to the court at full strength--in time for my team's championship game (which we won!). My results were better than expected, and I'd recommend Avery to anyone.

It is hard not to wonder if I was tricked. And I do not know the name of the therapist who works there-- not the temp but the long-term employee. She never introduced herself and remained consistently chilly. I have reluctantly concluded that she is not an asset to your practice. I don't know if your inattention to detail is incompetence or purposeful. There is also a lack of follow-through. For example, I asked if I should be doing exercises at home and was told twice that I would be given some. She gave me none. She then promised to email them to me. Nope There is also a general failure to explain the purpose of exercises, which is fundamental to the practice of PT. I see a reluctance to talk with patients beyond what seems absolutely necessary, keeping a distance that may benefit therapists but feels a bit chilly. The casualness with which staff treat patients can feel like neglect. . And now I see reminders for appointments that I KNOW I cancelled. I have decided to cease therapy with Ryan Ranch. This is clearly not a therapeutic relationship for me.

This is after almost no improvements from 7 months of physical therapy at a different medical center and being told by a specialist I would never be able to move my thumb normally again. I was overjoyed by the progress after seeing Hiromi for only a few visits. I would estimate I had an 80 percent improvement from two visits with her versus approximately a 5 percent improvement of twice weekly physical therapy, cortisone shots, doctor's visits, etc. for many months elsewhere. Hiromi is precise, very informed, and extremely talented. The studio itself is spacious and spotless, and includes all types of Pilates equipment. I can't recommend Hiromi highly enough. She truly listens and understands the human body and turned my "hopeless" case into a success story! I went from not being able to bend my fingers to being able to write again in just two visits! I am beyond grateful to her.
