I was a customer of their cafe on Front St in Patterson, and their smaller shop / cafe in Carmel. The look is so cute outside Carmel Creamery - all the columns and picnic tables are painted in pastels. Carmel Creamery offers some cool stuff - an ice cream flight, deep fried oreo dippers, and a churro option. They are also offering food, and if it's the food from Reverie then its da bomb for sure. Today I just had time to grab something for my drive home. I got a Cold Brew with Irish Creme M & M Brownie ice cream. How cool is this drink? We loved the unique and tasty flavors of Carmel Creamery when we visited for a character event and decided to host our daughter's 5th birthday party here. The owner, Megan, was very accommodating and even held the next day for our party in the event of rain. Although the weather was unseasonably chilly, the girls enjoyed the private yard space and bouncy castle, as well as a generous-sized lunch and ice cream treat at the end of the celebration. It was a perfect and unique outdoor party for young kids. We will definitely be back for more delicious food and treats, and would highly recommend as an outdoor birthday party venue! read more

The Carmel Creamery has some of the best ice cream I have ever tried in my life! The ice cream is always fresh and served with care. I visited a few weeks ago and tried the Salted Caramel Oreo, which is now my favorite flavor! I have also tried the Acai Bowls and they were amazing, as well. The owners and staff are super welcoming and friendly to all customers. They always greet me when I walk through and out the door. They also offer samples and thank customers when they pay. I'm picky as hell about ice cream. I tried this place several years ago (possibly different owners?) and sadly had a bad experience with the quality. I gave them another shot recently.... Whoa. *****Edit: Once again it's really sad not to see professional business owners with customer service etiquette. Coming from a family who has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years; bakers, chefs, restaurant owners, servers, and so on, these owners need a course in customer service. In the years (and currently) of my family owning multiple restaurants, we have been given bad reviews (thankfully not many of those) but we made sure we made the majority of those right. That meant a gift card, dessert on the house, a free meal, or just sometimes honestly a simple apology works and goes a long way. First off I'd like to respond to Megan's comment about the $10 gift card she was going to leave for me, honestly, you couldn't pay me to go back for free ice cream, I saw the email and just ignored it, not being able to speak to someone on the phone and walking into a shop where the staff is beyond confused is someplace I don't want to do business. My sister is her own person and she can decide for herself. Second I'd like to respond to Megan's edit in her comment about us actually eating the cake, we did not eat the cake nor did we tell her we ate the cake. Megan told my sister that she does not have time to get on the phone with her customers because "it's a game of 20 questions that results in no order." Those are her words exactly, as you will see in the emails to follow. As a new business owner, you should really make time to speak to your customers and be at your place of business. She also told my sister that she would have considered giving a refund if I did not leave such a bad review. Then proceeded to tell my sister if I remove my review she will gladly give her a refund. Megan, I am not sure if you realized that we live in the land of the free and have freedom of speech and that Yelp was created to help spread the word about amazing businesses, businesses that need help, and businesses that just sadly won't make it. As my sister stated, you can keep her money, we will promote the businesses that should be promoted and help the businesses that need to be helped. Yesterday I picked up a cake for my sister for my BIL's birthday and wanted to give the soft serve a taste. I ordered a large, a very small amount was given to me and it was melting as the young girl was handing it to me. I proceeded to go to my car and the ice cream was probably the worst I have ever eaten. It was not creamy, it was gritty, icy, almost like sand in my mouth. I could just not eat it and threw it away. My sister ordered directly with the owener via email, chocolate cookie dough and vanilla. Fast forward to just a few minutes ago, we sing happy birthday and cut into the cake and it is not what she ordered. The chocolate ice cream is just not right, not creamy, weird texture, and dark chocolate hard balls in there, which turned out to be whopper chocolate balls. The vanilla is not creamy, reminds me of frozen sweet milk, and bits of ice throughout all of it. Then on top of that they have this weird white cream (which was the texture of styrofoam and not creamy) inbetween and on top which has such a strong chemical taste. The writing as well has such a bad taste. Everytime we called the store young girls who do not know answers to any questions answer the phone. And it happened again this evening. When I was there yesterday the girls looked way to young to be running a newly owned business. Sadly my 10 year old took a bite or two and pushed it away. None of us could eat it and it will be in the garbage. read more

The artisan Ice cream is flavorful, rich texture and an amazing variety of unique flavors. When we want to splurge The Creamery is our go to place. My only wish is that they had indoor seating. The servers are helpful, fast and produce amazing ice cream creations . The prices are commensurate with the high quality ice cream. My only hesitation about giving them such a good rating is more people will find this hidden gem of an ice cream shop. Ambiance: It is a well stocked Ice Cream Shop with hand packaged pints/quarts, frieze dried Ice Cream and other sweet treats. I have been there at least 3 times, hoping it would get better. im sad that they did not use the recipes from Jim and Patti. The coffee seemed to have actual coffee grounds in it, and the vanilla was so bland that it tasted like ice milk. The freeze dried candy is really good but overpriced. I also had the chocolate chip ice cream sandwichs and at $4 or 4.50 a sanwhich i would think they would be better. It's all cookie. The chocolate chip cookies were good but so big with a little ice cream that you couldn't taste. Also, $10 a pint is way too much. I wanted to love this place. But i just don't. read more

The flavor I ordered tasted like freezer burned ice cream and had ice crystals in every bite. I don't think I will go back to see if the food was any good. We came here for the first time and unfortunately will not be back; first impression was it's VERY cramped in there, no space to sit and enjoy our ice cream/food inside. There's several picnic tables outside in the grassy area, but during winter time...no good. Second, I ordered two child-size ice cream cones, and I paid nearly $13. That's way overpriced, locally sourced dairy or not. Not budget friendly at all. We go to a few other favorite ice cream shops who also source locally their dairy, and never paid this much for two tiny scoops of ice cream. The taste of the ice cream was ok but I wouldn't say it was worth the exorbitant money we paid. when i went here for the first time when it opened i was very surprised to see many different ice cream flavors. although my ice cream was not the best i was willing to give it a second chance and try something new. when i went back to the store a few weeks later many of the ice cream flavors were taken off the menu and new flavors were added, but not flavors that sounded appealing. there was a mac and cheese flavor and a spicy doritos flavor. this is not a normal ice cream flavor and these foods should not be made into ice cream. when i tried my new ice cream flavor i still was not pleased. the texture of the ice cream is not normal. it is very powdery and it crumbled as i was trying to eat it. about two minutes later i could not eat it anymore. my overpriced ice cream was thrown into the garbage with two bites taken from it. it seems as though they are trying to do too much at once and they need to slow down and make their ice cream better. i am a very big fan of ice cream and usually never complain about it but this place is just very disappointing. not only is the ice cream not the best the owners are not very friendly. one time i went in and saw the owners and they rushed past me and into the back to tell the workers, who are all very young, what they were doing wrong. these children are trying their best to run the shop by themselves and if the owners want them to do things right maybe they should be in the store with them. read more
