    Communion Cake

I ordered a cake for my son's Communion. The cake was 3 layers. Two vanilla one chocolate with buttercream filling. It was absolutely delicious! So fresh and decorated beautifully for his special day. We cant say enough how delicious they make their cakes. We had many items over the years from Brewster Pastry and they never disappoint!

Ordered a cake for a family gathering at a nearby restaurant. Cake was delicious! Chocolate layers with (real) strawberry filling. Counter help was very courteous. Wish I lived in the area to try other items; smelled wonderful and looked delicious!

Sausage "empanada." Beautiful, buttery, flakey pastry.

Brewster Pastry was, happily, able to stay open during all the COVID-19 craziness, keeping the communities around it well provisioned with wonderful baked goods. We finally tried those rounds of bread, which are soft, maybe almost like a Portuguese loaf, with a pleasant rise. Very kid friendly, but I was, in truth, hoping more for a tooth-cracking, Poilâne-style mini miche, given Thierry Danvin's origins. A small loaf, about 8" in diameter, is $3, which is a real steal for a bakery-sourced, bakery-fresh loaf. An almond croissant we tried today was filled with something that resembled pastry cream instead of frangipane. It was delicious, but not the traditional filling I was hoping for (and seem to recall getting in times past). Still, that croissant and the chocolate croissant were beautifully laminated as usual. A generously filled sausage "empanada" was nothing like any empanada I've ever tried, but rather reminded me of "curry puffs" or savory pastries found at Hong-Kong stye Chinese bakeries in Chinatown. It was utterly fabulous, with a thick layer of creamy (maybe) ricotta cheese, lightly studded with crumbled sausage. I was quite smitten and ate almost the entire thing before I remembered to snap a photo. Only tip to the friendly, capable staff: please remember to change those gloves between handling food and handling a credit card. I'm not sure the nice young lady who served me, today, changed her gloves after putting through my payment, to help the gentleman who came in after me. My immediate family is relatively spry, and I have a fair amount of faith in my stomach acids... but more attention to hygiene may just keep someone alive in these times.... Love this place. Still the best bakery I've found in the area by far.

The team at Brewster Pastry was wonderful and accommodating when I wanted to order a cheesecake for my friend who lives locally for their birthday. Their pricing was affordable and the cheesecake was delicious. They even offered to write Happy Birthday on it, which made this gift truly extra special. The pickup process for my friend was easy and the staff was friendly. I also love that they are doing deliveries for the local frontline workers. I would totally order from them again for future birthday treats or if I am in the area!

Out of this world! Their pastries are fresh and flavorful. Their customer service is one of a kind because they truly appreciate their customers. Brewster Pastry pastries are at all of our holidays, events and celebrations. Their almond croissants are a family favorite.

What you see is what I got. Not their finest. My daughter ordered it and I was surprised at the quality and presentation.

The owner of this shop saved the day for me quite literally!! I purchased a cake from a friend of mine in Danbury, CT. For a special birthday party all the way in Long Island. Well on my journey to Long Island the cake suddenly started to collapse. I called this bakery and the owner kindly allowed me to come in. He saw the tears in my eyes, and our of kindness of his heart, he fixed the cake. He somehow miraculously made it look as if the cake wasn't falling apart. I'm so impressed with this bakery and his knowledge in cakes. I should of just bought through him! At the end of it all he didn't even charge me to help me out and said just pass on the kindness Thankful to of met him and I'm thankful for all his help beyond words!! AMAZING OWNER AND AMAZING BUSINESS!!

They were fresh and hot when I got them. They didn't last too long! So delicious!

The cider donuts are so fresh and delicious! I came in at the perfect time. The bakery smelled so good as they were fresh and hot. I asked for 3 without sugar and 3 with sugar. I'm glad they were able to accommodate me. I'd go back for the donuts any time. I enjoy them without sugar just as much.

From the moment you walk in and order till you leave you'll always find something new to try. Great fresh baked pies, cookies, pastries and soups to name a few... you won't be dissapointed!

We stopped back in for a quick snack and I was delighted to see all of the seasonal halloween cookies out. I had my eye on the canoli and had been waiting all trip for this pit stop. So glad we did! I also tried the coffee this time and it was good as well. Brewster pastry you are a winner!

I got the salmon bagel, and added capers, onions and tomatoes (which is $0.75 extra). They whipped up a unique take on this breakfast favorite, with the salmon, onions and tomatoes chopped up and topped on the bagel like a bruschetta. It was fresh and flavorful. Also got my beloved cortado, which came in a huge mug & I could actually hold the cup because there was a handle vs. the normal cortado cups that are burning hot with no option to hold them other than to burn off your finger tips on the hot glass. (Who invented those?!) The chef (who I suspect is also an owner?) was super chipper and friendly, and he delivered my dish, while the sweet barista brought out my coffee. This spot is giving homegrown local vibes, and I'm here for it.

The food turned out to be utterly delicious - we got the Guatemalan chicken stew kind of dish (pollo guisado), rice, 2 kinds of black beans, and plantains. The chicken dish was so fresh, and surprisingly light and very flavorful. The black bean paste was tasty too. The lady running the place asked if we wanted tortillas. So glad we said yes. They were thicker than Mexican tortillas, but light and slightly spongey and not dry. They were making them fresh inside, I watched them make these. I haven't had tortillas this tasty since we vacationed in Guatemala some years ago. The horchata was good too, not too sweet. Families were coming in, it was a very authentic kind of place and the food had a home-cooked taste. Theres's pre-made food, but you can also order from the menu. We were there on Saturday, around 11:30am, so the food was just being prepared for the day, but I think they cook throughout the day. Must say also a very friendly and gracious kind of place. A really fantastic surprise! Wish this place would open a location in Manhattan.

Not only is this place so cute, simple, quaint and filled with locals - the bakery items are absolutely delicious and drool worthy. I loved how kind and nice the cashier was, despite there being such a long line and it being so busy on a Sunday, she greeted us with a smile and kindness while helping us make the perfect choice for our afternoon treats. We ended up going for the orange zest and blood orange icing loaf slice (I wish I remembered the exact name) and the monkey bread. Wow. The monkey bread was out of this world and a pretty decent size! This isn't normally my go to, but my hubby loves cinnamon and soft - it was exactly that. Crispy, flaky, soft and pillowy when you bite into it. SO fresh and delish! We ended up ordering an unsweetened matcha latte but next time will for sure try their coffee! Limited seating and space is available, so I wouldn't say it's a good spot for large groups but the line moves pretty fast and it's totally worth it. Also, they're now open on Sundays, woohoOo!
