My girlfriend bought a 2015 Kia Soul less than a year ago and had a death in the family recently that caused her to have to redo her insurance. Well no insurance companies will insure her car now because of how easy it is to steal so she went back to carmax to get a new car. Even though a brand new engine was installed during this year they appraised the once $16k car as $5k. So essentially she has to pay $8k more on a car that is fully worthless and now pay for an entire new car. Definitely be wary of criminal behavior when buying vehicles in the modern age.

My new to me 2015 Kia Soul +. Less than 33k miles on it.

As I wrote just last week, I was in need of purchasing a car. I chose CarMax because I bought my last car from them. I love the no haggling pricing. Everyone I encounter there are so nice and friendly. I never feel like they are swarming at me like a bunch of rabid car sales people. I had my chosen car transferred from another location to the Chattanooga location. I also put another car on hold to just compare the two very similar vehicles to decide which one I wanted to purchase. My sales person, Pam Meade, was busy with another customer when I came in on Friday. She had another sales guy, John, help me out. John had assisted me in test driving a couple of cars the week before. I checked out both vehicles and decided to go with the one with less miles on it, even though it didn't have all the bells and whistles the other vehicle had. The vehicle I chose, is not lacking in anyway, it just doesn't have a lot of add-ons. Hey, I've lived my whole life without a backup camera, I think I can still do without. - LOL. The pricing and loan agreement was explained to me very clearly and again, with great customer service and helpfulness. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed on the vehicle, so a service request was put in and I spoke with the service manager who assured me that they would be able to deal with the issues. I have every confidence that they will. I really feel so much more comfortable dealing with CarMax and their business model as opposed to a traditional car dealership. CarMax really makes you feel welcomed there, like you're a part of the family. I appreciate that this helps take away some of the stress of a major purchase.

They put a bow on my car!!

I had an amazing experience here. Every sales associate has been so polite and well mannered. The cars and building are in pristine condition and the complicated process of getting a car was lessened significantly with the help of the sales associate. They have thought of everything and take excellent care of you. They do not haggle, but because of that they are more willing to hold vehicles while you figure out your financing. The vehicle can be held up to 7 days and the whole process was quite stress free with carmax. I got their warranty and am so happy with my new vehicle. I would definately recommend carmax to all my family, friends, and to those of you looking for a new vehicle.

My wife and I searched for the right vehicle for several months. We searched this dealerships…read moreinventory online and found a vehicle that fit our criteria. Nice van, low miles lots of features at a price that our family of 6 could afford comfortably. We were now down to 1 car. My wife stays at home with our son and 3 foster-children while I work 13.5 hour shifts. So, you can understand why we desperately needed a second, dependable vehicle. After reading the great reviews on this dealership we decided to give them a try. When we arrived at the dealership on Wednesday June 12, the van that we saw online was on the back lot awaiting a new rear seat as well as a part to fix the built-in DVD player. After test driving the car we informed the salesman about a constant chirping under the hood. He informed us that he would have the service department check it out. Since the car wasn't ready we placed a deposit on it in with intentions to buy it when it was ready. We were told that the issues should be repaired by no later than Friday, June 14th...... the 14th came and went..... no return phone call or update on the van. I started calling daily on Saturday June 15th, Monday the 17th I went to the dealership to check on the car and found that wires were hanging from where the DVD player once was and the backseat was still missing. I was told by the service department manager that my van was being made a priority. Tuesday the 18th I called again and was given the run around AGAIN ......each day I was told that the van should be ready anytime and finally on Wednesday the 19th I spoke to my salesman and he said that if I really needed the van that I could come pick it up and they would call me when the parts and seat came in...... I took the van home on Wednesday the 19th without the repairs, but, they did put in writing, everything that they promised to fix. The service manager informed me that they would provide a loaner vehicle while my car is being repaired. Fast forward to today, another week later, I have called this dealership several times and they have yet to fix the van like they promised. This van began running hot while I was driving it today. and last week , the van stalled out on me WHILE I WAS DRIVING........ an issue that I made the service manager aware of immediately. He assured me that he would take a look at it when he repaired the other issues. Today I had to have a tow truck return the vehicle to the dealership. They sent a guy to take me back to work and later informed me that they no longer offer loaner cars to its customers....... I'm not angry about the van having mechanical issues..... it just happens and you can't predict it. I'm upset by the lies and run arounds as well as the poor customer service that I've received. It's been nearly 3 weeks that they have not kept their word. I feel like I've been more than fair and patient. I'm regretting my decision to do business with them and yes I have, in writing, the promises they made....... so frustrated

Poor…read morejudgment of management I purchased a 2013 vw Jetta that was supposed to have 108k but when I got in it, the car had over 117k that's a huge difference I had to get mrs kidd which is an awesome employee there to correct the mileage otherwise it would have been over looked and from the door it had issues! I was promised it would be fixed. The vibration in the front end was never corrected and it continues to get worse the car has put me on the side the road more times than I can remember the dealership says they have a warranty for 6 months 6,000 miles they fix it but every time they give me the car back it has another issue I've asked if they could give me another car they said no! I've almost lost my job twice because of this car breaking down with me! I work home health care and just the other day I had a patient in the car with me when the car quit running! My job my career is on the line with this car they keep saying they fixed it and days later it breaks again! The ac goes off and on the blower cuts in and out the cars windows go down by themselves the speedometer gauge stopped working I got a speeding ticket cause of it. The headlights keep blowing bulbs and not just one they have blown all four bulbs at once the first time the dealership replaced them the second time I was in Nashville and I had to pay to have them replaced! The cars breaks don't work properly they make noise and grind! I've taken it in they told me I need new pads new rotors and I shouldn't need all that when I just purchased a car! On Sunday of last week I was leaving church and the car wouldn't start I left it there I got church friends to bring me home later that afternoon I went got the car it ran fine on the way home! Monday the car ran fine all day I worked a double and didn't use the car Tuesday and Wednesday I filled up with gas and while the keys was in my hand car turned off I was pumping gas when all four windows rolled down and alarm went off. I started the car after pumping gas the car seemed fine there is no warning light on my car no check engine light. I got back to Chattanooga late Thursday night after being out of town for work then I was gonna boring it to the dealership after work on Friday afternoon. Well at 11:30 am Friday morning one of my patients fell I had to go make sure he was ok so on my way to his house the car stalled on me I ended up getting it towed to the dealership! Time off work and waiting on the side the road hours at a time cause this car keeps stranding me is very frustrating! Not to mention having an 85 year old woman in ur car and the ac stops working and the windows going up and down when they want to. Or sitting at a red light and the car won't move cause it's running but no power! It was as if it was in limp mode. So I calmly explained to mike the manager how I felt about the car having issues and asking if they swap it for another and he laughed and says this ant Walmart we can't just exchange it.! I mean why not? It's been a problem car from the door! How much money are you willing to throw at fixing it and giving it back to me it's a waste of time for me and it's costing me tons of money and time off work? Is this just to hold me over til my warranty expires then I'm stuck with a car that don't run? I'm paying almost twice as what the car is worth and I haven't missed a payment I've taken well care of the car in the very short time I've had it and what now I'm stuck with a lemon? If it's hard to swap it out how about offering me a full refund of the down payment and money I've spent I. Payments and I can go somewhere else where I won't be screwed over again and again! I got the car back less than a week ago from having work on ecm and now the car jerks really hard while shifting going up a hill it's making a wining noise, the car still shivers and cuts off when the ac is on and you come to a stop! Also the ac doesn't blow cold air when you're sitting still and now eco light is on check engine light is flashing! They say it's fixed every time they give it back to me and it's not!And that's not all the problems this car has but I'm limited to how much I can write in this review!

They put a new batter, new tire sensor, oil change. Little did I know when I went in for my first oil change at Subaru a list of way past overdue maintenance services were overlooked by Acura. I ended up spending over $1200 dollars to get the car up to date. Nothing on the vehicle history report stated that any of these required services were completed and when Subaru checked their records none were found on it either. I'm very disappointed that Acura did not take care of this before selling the vehicle. At this point I will never do business with them again in the future.

Not Negotiable, High Prices, Dishonest, Rough Trade Values…read more -1 Star: This dealer basically says the price is the price, so Acura gives you $1k off if you had a competitor luxury car discount and we got $1k off for getting a 2023 instead of 2024 model MDX. I wanted to negotiate more and they literally wouldn't budge. So out the door for around $72k without extended warranties or any add ons. I wanted to leave and forget getting a new car but my wife was frustrated and just wanted it to be over after all the time spent. I gave up on reasoning with her and told her she can do what she wants if she pays for it. We left and literally the next day she had buyers remorse already and asked why I let her buy it. That's marriage in my experience. Women don't listen to your advice and then ask why you didn't tell them what you already did tell them... ugh.... - 1 Star: They quoted us $476.30 "at their cost" for the roof rack cross bars, we looked online and got them $274.59 from Acura.com and oddly they ship and we picked them up at this Acura dealer, so don't order upgrades from them and just use the website so you do not get scammed. -1 Star: As for our 2022 Tesla Model 3 with 18k miles like new... they beat us up hard on tue trade saying they wouldn't even try to sell a Tesla because they are too hard to sell so they could only give us 33k trade for it because that's what they were selling it same day to Carmax for. Fast forward a week and our car is only there lot for $40,900... PS: I checked the Tesla app that night after we left and someone was driving at all over at 80-90 miles per house and then it was parked in the hood at some rough apartments afterwards until the battery was about stone dead.... Ugh... I feel like I already miss the Tesla in comparison to the new car, it was just not a roomy car when you have kids. PSS on the MDX: I think the car is visually appealing. I really like the brown interior. The weird touch pad for controls is strange and why there are no touch screens is beyond I do like the color and the wheels for sure. It really lacks power and isn't very stable on the road. It's not a bad car, but I don't see the value for the price. I feel Lexus gives you more car for the value. We will run it a couple years and do something else anyway... All in all it wasn't a fun experience. - 1 Star: Our sales guy was frustrated when I said I wanted to pay less than MSRP and literally rolled his eyes in irritation when I told him to ask the manager. He seems to expect people to just come in and want to pay full price and not bother him. The Asian sales manager was polite. He ave my son a little drawing pad of paper. 5 Stars for Mike in parts. He was a funny guy, good sense of humor and knowledgeable. He took good care of our needs. 5 Stars for The finance guy. He was the most polite person in the sales process. Very professional and didn't try to force anything on us. No drama. They had a huge selection of MDX vehicles and not many other new vehicles it seems.

Everywhere I looked was very pricey but they were super affordable so l checked them out. I test drove it and knew it was the one. I can say going here I learned the difference between a car lot and a dealership. I'm used to getting my cars from a dealership. The only real big difference is the lot is buy as is. When I got the car it was a few issues, it needed 2 new tires and new brakes all around which was kind of costly. I would rather have everything fixed and included in the price. But the car was great and my granny loved it and I got everything fixed the same day. I would like to say that this was the fastest process once I got back in town to get the vehicle. The whole process took like a hour or 2 not long at all compared to my other experiences. Their communication was Al and always picked up the phone and answered any questions or concerns I had when I called. They are very honest and straight forward I really love that because I did bring up the issues with vehicle and she let me know like this is a buy as is lot so that explains pricing of vehicles. They make sure the vehicles are priced well for what they are worth. So far no issues my granny rode it to Atlanta one weekend and there were no issues at all. My experience was pretty great. This is a very fine establishment and they even let me borrow this big bow to put on top of the car for when I surprised my grandmother. I appreciate you all a lot for making her day special and will attach photos and videos below. In a month or two l will make updates to review letting you all know tag process and if any issues come up with vehicle but so far so great and I enjoyed doing business with this establishment. Here with an update so the experience was great and very quick process the only thing I can say bad is it being, a car lot so it's buy as is. It was a couple of things wrong with the car costing roughly around $2000 within the first 30-90 days. Battery, alternator, tires, and the rims are scratched up bad and something else is wrong it keep making a noise but I haven't figured it out yet but I'm used to dealerships so I now see the big difference. They're good business but I would rather most things be good on the car and everything be fixed and added to the price or something. Then like every-time something is brought up wrong with the car even before purchase it's kind of like a oh well type of response. Like when I emailed about the alternator I was told," Alternators do go out on cars. It's worked fine when you bought it." Which I get it it's buy as is . But a lot of things being wrong the first 3 months is not so good. But at least they are always willing and quick to respond. But yes this is my update.!

I secured my loan through Southeastern Financial, and I purchased the Route 66 Extended Warranty that would cover the car for 36,000 miles. I went to pick up the car and found that it had a 6" crack in the windshield with several other severe chips. I went back in and asked when did the crack and chips happen. They acted like they didn't know, but Regina said that she could have it fixed and I would just have to pay her cost. I ended up getting the windshield replaced at Safelite myself. A few of days later after I driven about 200 miles the car started bucking when it got around 25 mph, and it threw an OBDI code: P0741 which states that the torque converter was faulty. I drove back to Southeast Financial and asked how locked in I was in this deal because I was already running into transmission trouble. They told me to call the extended warranty company to let them know what was going on. I did call and was told not to make any trips with the car but to take the car to a transmission shop of my choice as soon as it was convenient. I went to Midas Transmission Repair first because they have a very high consumer rating. Midas said that they did not work with Route 66 Warranties, but pointed out East Ridge Transmission a block from them. I took the car there and told them what was happening. It started with a little glitch, but then got a lot worse. A few days later I was notified that a claim for transmission repairs had been denied. I called Route 66 Warranty and they told me that the car's transmission problem was a pre-existing condition and that they would not cover it. I asked Route 66 what good was their extended warranty if they won't cover the bill. They told me that I didn't wait long enough to call for a claim. I asked them if they really thought that I would buy a car with a bd transmission? They said that the claim has been denied and that they couldn't do anything for me. With the car still at East Ridge Transmission, I went back to 423 Wholesalers and told them what was going on. Regina swore they never had a problem with the car (even though the car sat in the same place on the lot), and since it was past 7 days, she could do anything about it. She said the car was sold As Is. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a $4,000 transmission bill when East Ridge Transmission fixes it. I would never have purchased the car knowing it had major problems. I should have known better to accept the car with the cracked windshield. it was not cracked a few days earlier when I test drove it. I became very leary about 423 Wholesalers when Regina said she could have it fixed for her cost With no cost out of her pocket. I guess I was ripped off in every way possible With this vehicle purchase.
