I found James on Craigslist. I told him I had two love seats that I was thinking of having…read morereupholstered. My only reservation was that people were telling me that it would be so expensive that I should just buy new. I told that to James and he said; "Once they are reupholstered, they are new. Only you know they fit the space, you know they are comfortable, and instead of having to be limited by fabric choices I could choose whatever I want and have custom chairs." He has fabric books to choose from. If you have an idea of what you are looking for, tell him in advance so he can narrow down what to show you. I ended up buying my own fabric in Los Angeles in the fabric district. If you do that, talk to James first about the pattern repeat and how much yardage you'll need. All that said, his work speaks for itself. It only took two weeks for the chairs to be completed! That was a delightful surprise in itself. If you look carefully at the chairs you'll see the design pattern not only lines up on each chair, but the chairs are across from one another and the pattern lines up across from each other. Incredible attention to detail. I bought extra fabric and asked if he could make me pillows. He did a great job with those as well. Pillows for less than it would cost me to buy at Bed, Bath and Beyond. And they're custom! I highly recommend James. I couldn't be more pleased.

While I was at first a bit surprised at the small space, I quickly realized there was A LOT to offer. HELLO Joseph! I asked for black cotton and he showed me a sampling to check out while he finished with other customers. I found THE PERFECT SHADE OF BLACK! I just needed 1 yard, so Joseph got that cut quick as a whip, I paid cash, and out I went. $8 for a yard of 60" black cotton is VERY FAIR. Sorry I forgot to snap pics, I think I was delirious with delight at being able to tick this errand off my list! I now have a new fabric option for the rare times - yeah, like once a year - I have a project to complete. While there is a Public Parking lot behind Canoga Fabric, I parked at a meter on the street and fed in enough for 2 hours so we could check out a few other places I was surprised about along this corridor of Sherman Way. The quality of the fabric is nice and the guy helping me went out of his way to recommend a different thread to more closely match the fabric I was buying (I just grabbed the closest almost-color I could find). I would definitely recommend going in with a plan as there isn't much room to wander, but very nice establishment!

Huge Selection I…read morewalked in and looked through almost the whole store. I found sequence fabrics which I need for vacation outfits. The only difficulty was getting to the fabrics to see which one I wanted. There were other customers in the store that needed help so I just took it into my hands to go through the fabrics. The owner helped me select zippers and gifted me extra spandex fabric. Walked out with ~ 11 yard of different fabrics for $32 I do wish there was an easier way to see all the fabrics.

Service is great and I love supporting a small shops. One of the last ones we have left in Oxnard, if not the last one! I don't think it's super expensive or much more expensive than a bigger store like Michaels. I just love supporting locally owned spots!
