I work in a professional where my hours are unorthodox. Of course, my hot water tank malfunctioned…read morein the middle of a very busy stretch of days for me. The manufacturer would recommend swapping out parts, which I did in the middle of the night when i got home from work. Finally, after the manufacturer recommended i swap the upper thermostat for a second time, I felt like i was on a bit of a wild goose chase. The manufacturer agreed to swap the tank. While, the manufacturer would warranty the tank, I was on the hook for labor. This left me a little uneasy since I would need to have the tank removed, brought to Home Depot, exchanged, and then a new heater brought to my place and installed. Upon recommendation, I contacted RA. These guys had dealt with warrantied heater exchanges before, which was a relief. And, the best part, they were available to complete the service the next day. The original price estimate quoted was high. However, the final bill was a fair. John, the installation expert, was a pleasure to work with and very competent. I will reach out to them for future plumbing services.

Their price was fair, and workmanship was impeccable. Thank you Rob and Andrew.

BUYERS BEWARE.... $820 to replace toilet tank components and remove buildup on faucet cap…read more This company will not provide itemized receipts or breakout costs by service/product. EXPENSIVE, predatory level expensive. That price above was to replace a toilet tank reservoir component (guts) and take of a bathroom faucet cap/remove buildup on nozzle/put cap back on. The tech was at our house for 60-75 minutes tops (including diagnostic time). They did not give a quote over phone beyond a $95-135 service fee to just come out. My wife thought the service was fixing the whole tank for that price. Truth is, you can have an entire toilet removed and new one paid&installed for $760. It's reasonable to state the charges here were predatory and incredibly overcharged. As a business professional, I understand companies have expenses and up charges. That everyone has to get paid from the service tech to the business owners and the admin staff. That also includes overhead costs of their operation... but in what world do you not explain your pricing with transparency??? This company "doesn't itemize or break out service fees." is what was told to my wife, then to myself via the phone. But I can... -tank components: $30 (round it to $100 for up charge and margin) -service appointment/diagnostics fee: $95 That leaves $565 in there bill... FOR 70-90minutes of service???? They didn't replace anything on the sink, and only the tank components (guts). Then threw the old ones in our trash can next to the toilet. So they can't claim "waste removal." I could understand $200 (or $100 a hour x 2). This isn't a union plumber, but even a union plumber would have been $150 a hour. That's still about half the gap missing here. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. When I followed up on why it was so expensive and I thought they over billed my wife, I was told "we reviewed everything and are all set on our side, billed 5% off for 'a senior discount you shouldn't have gotten.' but we are good. If you still are not happy, I'll throw in a service guarantee and wave $150." I'd be good too if I just profited $300-400 extra then what my competitors are charging. Being informed that service should have been between $350-500 tops. ****CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!*****

I called at 4:00pm and by 6:00pm the Tech Dan was at my door. He was professional and explained every step of the way. Thankfully it wasn't anything much wrong. I have used their services prior and was impressed with how they never try to sell you a service that you don't need. My trip was a total of $85.00 for basic service but I am now cool and refreshed. I absolutely recommend this company to anyone in need. Thanks Dan I appreciate it.

Additionally the tech removed a plate from the unit and didn't put it back on. When I asked him about it, he said oh it's a pain in the ass to get off and you don't need it. He then left without putting it back on. The cover exposed wiring. I called the service center, but was ignored. I had to fashion a piece of sheet metal to cover it. I've used them three times now, but won't likely be using them again. The first time was a good experience, the second time they sent out a different tech, even though I made a request for a specific tech and they confirmed that the requested tech would be there. I just feel like they are somewhat disingenuous and I don't think I will be using them again.

Magtek was the 3rd of 4 quotes I had scheduled to replace a 20 year old AC unit. I had also heard…read morefrom Home Depot/King HVAC (Carrier), Four Seasons (Lennox), and another local HVAC provider (American Standard). The first two attempted to oversell me on high SEER (high efficiency) AC Units (15 SEER and 18 SEER) alone without discussing the limitations of my current furnace and zoning to actually realize the efficiency of those very expensive AC units. The last quote was to upgrade my AC unit slightly (3 ton to 4 ton, still 13 SEER, no efficiency rebates) go with the same 80% efficient furnace that I had from American Standard, which was much more economical, but they were not offering any promotional financing of any kind. Darryl from Magtek was the first to explain to me the limitations of the higher efficiency AC units without upgrading your furnace and zoning at the same time. He did not try to oversell it, just gave me the facts, and quoted 4 different scenarios (AC Upgrade Only, AC/Furnace mid-tier upgrade, high efficiency AC/Furnace upgrade, and also new damper/zoning install as a separate add on to any/all of the above). After looking at costs, and taking into consideration Tranes/Wells Fargo, 0% Financing for 60 months offer (an offer we did not see matched from any of the other major providers), we decided it would be best to go all in and upgrade to the high efficiency systems (14 SEER 4 ton AC, 96% Efficient Furnace, and new zoning dampers (not the absolute highest, but a substantial increase from our 20 year old system). Darryl was also very considerate in closing the deal with a few add on's to secure the bid. We scheduled a Saturday install, they came immediately on time, and worked with a crew of about 3-4 from 7:30 am to about 5 pm to finish the job. All of their techs were very professional and friendly, answering all of our questions along the way. With the addition of the high efficiency furnace, they needed to add a 3 inch exhaust pipe directly to the outside through the brick wall, and they went to great lengths to keep that pipe high and tight to the ceiling making it hardly noticeable (not an easy thing to do on a replacement system with a finished basement). They left the place cleaner than how they found it, helped us set up and make sure we understood the new wifi thermostats, and from all appearances, did an excellent job. Hoping this system will last us another 20+ years and lower our utility bills in the process. Extremely happy with Magtek and would recommend to anyone.

It at that time. So when I called back she told I will get billed the $99 again plus the price of the labor. Horrible customer service. They did fix it so I updated to a 4.
