I ordered one 3-piece chicken tenders, and it was $7.50! For three pieces! The worker at the drive-thru window said, "Yeah, I get a discount here and I STILL go across the street to Taco Bell for food!" And then they made me wait 15 minutes and drive around to the front to get my order. I finally went inside where my order was sitting on a shelf! Horrible drive thru service! I went with my family and my dad asked what I wanted and I said chicken tenders and basically as my dad told the drive thru person if he could give us a minute. They were eavesdropping in your convo and told us they couldn't make the chicken tenders and as we asked for something else they said they couldn't make that either. My dad then proceeded to just leave to go get McDonald's or something then the guy opens the window and asked what was the problem, The "manager Sal" threatens my dad by saying he has fist and he's fought guys bigger than him. Pulled up when they opened and the person said, "welcome to Carls Jr. what can I get you," in an extremely lackluster voice. I then asked if they do burgers for breakfast and after FIVE MINUTES of silence another voice came on and said, "we don't open for ten minutes." Site says the open at 7am I got there at 7:10am. I find it so interesting that a job in food used to require at least some customer service skill. It's starting to seem like the fast food industries never have their ducks in a row. I'm not expecting a free meal or anything but at the very least apologize for the inconvenience. "Sorry we don't open for ten more minutes," I worked in customer service for almost ten years. Honestly I can say that if you can't work at a fast food restaurant and have some form of manner then you don't deserve a job at all. I think this is meant to be New Mexican rather than Mexican, but whatever it's meant to be, it's not pulling it off, not for me anyway. Usually found hidden inside a Carl's Jr (so the two corporate chains can make corporate jokes and count corporate sales together)... it's not worth your time or your dime (did I just make that up?) Only because I was starving, I stopped here. I ordered Green Burrito (actually some other Tex Mex rip off with weak green chili on it and in it... ugh)... I should mention, I only rate national and global chains on a scale of 1-2. I rate family businesses on a scale of 3-5. Here is why: Would you rather support the local family, or the multi national corporations and the rich men on yachts in the Carribbean? Why are the parking lots of the awesome local places usually half empty (or completely empty)? Why are the so-called Mexican chains always so busy? Why can they afford to open so late and get all the TV advertising and all the prime intersection locations? Why are they taking over all the airports, stations, and rest stops? Why go and support Taco Bell, Del Taco, Baja Fresh, Chipotle, and so on? These places have systematically and coldly taken over the Mexican food scene by using the cheapest ingredients, pre-packaged frozen systematic Americanized knock-offs that are identical across the nation, ridiculously cheap prices for the polystyrene food on dollar menus, overpricing for everything else, rude underpaid servers on way less than minimum wage, and a ridiculously expensive mass brand advertising campaign that gets inside the heads of all the kids and the 20somethings and keeps them under the illusion that if it's not a brand name, it's not worth visiting. They spend all the money they should be investing in food and service, in advertising and cornering the market - the local places can't compete - and someday all we will be left with is the same chains serving the same food all over the world. That is our future. It's the way we're heading and you know it. Every time you eat at a bland national chain, you buy into that, you support that. Boycott chains. Support your local Mexican eateries. It's an embarrassment that generic brand national chains are even listed on a proper foodie website like Yelp, let alone getting 4 and 5 stars from so called foodies. OK for what it is, the one and only late night food in Nipomo. Not a lot of choices at that hour, so you make do. Nothing is ever better than OK, and sometimes a lot worse, with stale chips, soggy burgers, and limp fries the norm. Sometimes it's decent and you breathe a sigh of relief, because there are just no other options. The manager/owner is hilarious to watch, though. I feel bad, but she cannot manage even everyday stress without blowing up and snapping at her employees endlessly, and probably has the highest turnover business in the area. It's almost worth coming just for the spectacle. Dropped a star because the green burrito closes at 11 while the Carl's jr closes at 2 am (or not at all on weekends). In what world does that make sense when the same people cook the same food in the same kitchen? I went through the Drive through on Monday, Labor Day to pick up a late lunch for the family since it wasn't busy. The young lady at the pick up window was very rude and when I got home to Guadalupe to hand out the food the order was not right. It was too late to go back and get the correct order so we made due with what we got. There was no reason for her rudeness and messing up my order so I don't plan to go back there again. Not even a seam of good service. My friend and I were in the car laughing about our day before we even pull up to order. Pulling up to the empty drive-through with no one behind us or even in the floor room of the store, I wasn't too sure what I wanted so I told the female worker that I will need a minute to decide. Mind you, as were looking we're still laughing about our discussion prior to pulling up. Not a minute passes and we hear another voice "are you guys going to order or not?" in a rather rude tone. After hearing her we decide to go elsewhere. I make a call to Carl's jr to let the manager know about the lack of proper service. Turns out the manager is the same rude women whose additude pushed us onto looking for another business to dine at. After telling her that the lack of service is unprofessional and rude, she tried to flip the conversation onto me trying to say that my friend's and my laughing was rude. I probably won't be eating at Carl's Jr. anymore after my experience here the other day. After dropping my boyfriend off at work he texted me and said he forgot his lunch at home... I told him I would just run through Carl's Jr. and grab him some breakfast sandwiches so he didn't have to worry about stopping later in the day. I ordered 4 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. The lady even repeated it back to me and my receipt said BACON on it but instead I got 4 sausage egg and cheese sandwiches. It was already too late to return them since I didn't realize the mistake until 30-45 minutes later when my boyfriend texted me asking where the bacon was, lol. He ended up saving 1 for me since he couldn't really stomach the sausage but when I bit into mine I didn't get a bite of sausage. Instead I got a bite of something white and hard (like a bone). It was disgusting and I immediately spit it out. I ended up throwing away the entire sandwich and not being able to eat for a few hours. I move to Nipomo 2 1/2 yrs ago -and have eaten at this location 4 times over that time span. when I went for Breakfast everything was fresh and fine -but the 3 times I visited in the afternoon or evening I was severely disappointed each time - and don,t plan ever going back. each time the Burger patty was obviously cooked hrs ahead of time and just nuked for 10 sec to warm-up and melt the cheese. The last time I went before i finished eating the Manager came over and asked how things were? -and I told her I was not happy with the dry-luke warm Burger -and she took it back and brought me another that was better but still no where near as good as they were 15-20 yrs ago when everything was cooked to order -before they started following suit with Burger King and pre-cooking the meat. I've dined 3 or 4 times at the location in N. Arroyo Grand when in that area -and the food has always been hot and fresh every time -and the place is had a much nicer atmosphere (50's decor) always spotless -so from now on they'll be getting ALL my business read more

my order is always correct and my food is always fresh, except for the rare (rare!! so rare idc) time that my fries are cold, haha. remember that most people only review when they're upset- people are less inclined to review when they are satisfied or receive what they ordered than when a mistake happens and they're angry. this is the closest carl's jr. to me, i go here pretty often, and they've never given anything to me but good service and good food. it's a tradition in my family to order breakfast burgers from here on a certain holiday morning, and we love it. the employees are sweetie pies and the food is tasty. of course my giant family and i will be back :) read more

In Nipomo there are not many chioces to chose from when it comes to fast food. I've been to this location a few times in the past 2 years, and every time I have been disappointed. If I want a decent burger from Carl's Jr, I have to drive all of the way to Santa Maria. How can one Carl's Jr. be so much worse than all of the others? Stale bread, dry meat, wilted lettuce.
