Best flooring experience we have ever received. Completely rebuilt sections and refinished our home. We had him come multiple times over the years (not his fault) because the kids kept scratching up the floors (lol- their fault). Absolutely professional and made everything gleam. Thank you! read more

Carlos has refinished all of my hardwood floor in two stages and did a great job. He is reasonably priced, timely, hardworking and professional. Highly recommend! read more

Carlos rebuilt a section of hardwood floor in our living room and a bedroom after we updated our HVAC system, which required moving an old vent. In only a few hours, he installed the subfloor and flooring, being sure to align the new boards so that there's no way to tell where the vent used to be. He and his helper were timely, accurate, and went over and above to clean up when they were done. I'd happily hire Carlos again. read more

Carlos is the best! I originally hired a different company to install brand new hardwood floors throughout my house. I thought I'd picked wisely but had a miserable experience from start to finish with the other company. Just lots of miscommunication and lack of attention to detail. Near the end of the project, the stain was uneven in a spot and they tried to fix it but kept making it worse and worse. Fed up, I went looking for someone else to fix the issue, which is when I found Carlos. He assured me that he could do a color match on the area where the first contractor had been making mistake after mistake. He also noted that the sanding job throughout was not very good and provided me a reasonable quote to do a buff and coat throughout the house. He wasn't pushy about it at all and would have just done the color match, but I was happy to have him do another coat of finish throughout to clean up what the first guys did. Carlos also noticed that the floor vents the first contractor gave me were an outdated style. I said I'd wanted the "flush" style vent covers but my old contractor said it was not possible. Carlos was able to give me new, flush-style vent covers for all of the rooms in my house. Carlos also noticed that there were some squeaks in the floor. I didn't even know this was a thing you could fix! He and his team were able to put very well-hidden screws into the floor to prevent squeaking. Incredible! Finally, there were some spots in the floor where the first guys did putty to fill in holes and the putty color stuck out like a sore thumb. Carlos did an incredible color match and I literally couldn't find these spots without getting on my hands and knees. While I wish I'd found Carlos a couple of months sooner, I am so glad that I know him now. He really saved me and I will 100% be hiring him for all future wood flooring projects! read more

I can not speak highly enough about Carlos! He installed hardwood flooring in our house and paid attention to every detail. He sanded the entire under floor to make sure it was level. He used the correct nail gun to install the floor (I had heard some installers only use one type which does not match every type of flooring}. He laid out the boards in advance to make sure the light and dark woods variations were mixed up and not bunched in one area. He explained what he was doing and welcomed questions. His price is reasonable and given that other people could do the job incorrectly, his price is great! If you are looking for flooring installers, or refinishing, don't waste time call Carlos! I feel very fortunate that he was highly recommended to me. We now have beautiful floors. read more

Carlos put in hardwood floors in a sunroom addition and did a beautiful job. We ran into a lot of problems with the first contractor we hired, who was referred to us by the hardwood floor supplier and insisted that our newly poured concrete floor was not level (it was) and that a threshold would be required to adjoin the floors of the sunroom addition to the rest of the house. Carlos patiently figured out a solution, corrected alterations to the concrete made by the first contractor, and installed a beautiful, seamless, continuous floor. Not only was Carlos very professional and nice, he was cheaper by a couple of thousand dollars than the first contractor, who had also raised their estimate after they began the work. We really lucked out finding Carlos, who was recommended to us by our sunroom contractor (California Sunrooms)! read more

we have hired Carlos and his team both for our Living/Dining room floor refinishing, and to install oak floors in our kitchen and bathrooms. Great craftsmanship, very satisfied. read more

We couldn't be more satisfied with the floor repairs Carlos' crew did at our Berkeley house. We had two floor furnaces removed from our dining room and hallway leaving gaping holes in the oak floors. We wanted the repairs to completely blend in. It was not an easy job as the floors were tongue and groove but Carlos crew did a fantastic job of weaving in replacement flooring and then staining to match. You honestly cannot see where the repairs were made. Carlos is licensed and insured. His crew arrived and completed the work on time as promised and cleaned up everything. Finally, his price was more than fair. I recommend him without hesitation. read more

Carlos and his team are top notch! They did an exceptional job of installing, staining and finishing a new white oak hardwood floor in a previously carpeted master bedroom. Carlos is a craftsman with an eye for quality. He made sure the white oak acclimated to our house. He took time to show us several options for stain/finish. The floor looks exceptional. Carlos also installed a missing "threshold" in another area of the house. Next, we plan to have him refinish our existing floors. We trust he will do an outstanding job, and we recommend him without hesitation. read more

Absolutely wonderful. Carlos listened to our ideas and created a beautiful kitchen floor for us. No hesitation to recommend to anyone looking for a hardwood floor! read more

These guys are great. Had a unique job that involved patching up an existing hardwood floor. I contacted Carlos and he was prompt to come over and give an estimate which I thought was very reasonable. Carlos and his crew were at my house within a week and completed the small job in a few days. I was amazed at how seamless their work was - I could not even tell where the previous gaps and holes were in the old floor, and they matched the color of the rest of our house perfectly. To my surprise Carlos even was able to install some baseboards to match our 1901 originals as well as some recently installed modern ones. The whole time Carlos was friendly, communicative and knowledgeable which put me at ease throughout the whole process. I would not hesitate to call Carlos again for my flooring needs. read more

Carlos is reliable and extremely competent. He did great work for me -- first refinishing the floors in a 100-year old house, then laying a new floor in the kitchen. I've recommended him over and over. read more

I reached out to Carlos off of recommendation from another floor installer. I needed help with my squeaky floors. He arrived to the appointment on time with his apprenftice/helper in order to determine what needed to be done to my floors. Before he left he gave a brief overview of the work that he could perform and explained that he would send an estimate with the options discussed. I felt assured with his attention to detail and professionalism. However, he hasn't responded to my text nor calls over the past month. He isn't the only flooring business that I has come out to my home to provide an estimate that hasn't provided an estimate. I'm not sure if my job is too much work but it would have been a courtesy to be told "we're not interested in this type of work at this time". read more

I last minute needed someone to install engineer hardwood floors in three rooms after my contractors' team took one look at the flooring and decided they weren't equipped to install it. Carlos came recommended to me by another flooring person who wasn't able to do it either. My partner and I knew right away we liked Carlos when he came to look at the project and give us a quote. He took his time looking at the space and noting details. His quote was comparable to other quotes we received. And we were also able to schedule a time for the project quickly. While Carlos had one of his team members do the installation, he did come by and check in on the work being done. And the person who did the install was fantastic, he was quick, organized and every day he left the flooring and his equipment neatly stacked to the side. There was a hump in the floor (an issue with the foundation) that was lessened and is now unnoticeable. There was a squeak in the floor that was removed. And they were able to reuse the trims that existed by sanding them down and refinishing them. We currently have our hands full with house projects but will definitely want to work with Carlos again by addressing squeaks in other parts of the house and giving new life to the old floors that we didn't tear out. read more

Carlos was recommended to us by another hardwood flooring installer who wasn't available to take our job-- he told us Carlos is a real artisan. We found that to be true, he did an amazing job and has excellent attention to detail. He's also very reasonably priced and responsive. Can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Disclaimer: Carlos only provided a quote (very competitive, mid range ppsqf) to refinish my floors BUT he was excellent and I wouldn't gone with him except our SF refinisher is doing us a favor and crossing the bridge. I found Carlos to be knowledgeable, kind and informative. He noticed right away that the previous refinishers (hired by our realtor, fired by us) messed up the sanding process, didn't utilize water to open up the wood; left shoe marks in the finish AND more importantly cautioned me that even if I didn't hire him, I should make sure anyone else noticed and addressed those issues. read more

This guy did a great job fixing some damage to our hardwood floor. Efficient, on time and nice. Covid conscious and wore a mask the whole time. Would recommend! read more

We had an old, beat-up floor, with deep scratches, rot, and water damage in every room. There were previous botched attempts at repair and a giant hole that had been cut into the middle of the living room. It was a mess! But it was the original floor, and it was made from nice long strips of red oak. Carlos and his crew came in and repaired all of the damage using new strips of red oak that perfectly matched the 70-year-old originals. They also did a beautiful job of restoring the undamaged areas, which allowed us to preserve the vast majority of the wood and retain the style of the original floors. I am amazed at how good they look now. They look brand new, and I can't even tell where the old wood ends and the new wood starts. I am also pleasantly surprised at how quiet they are to walk on. The cost of his work was reasonable, the wait time was minimal, and it only took them about a week to finish the job, once they got started. We are quite satisfied and would hire Carlos again without reservation. read more

Carlos Reyes was able to remove my wood floors in my dining room and use the same wood to patch up a water damaged area to my wood floors in my pantry hall. No other flooring company or person would do this for me -and he also removed the wood planks so carefully and suggested that I keep them because my flooring had been discontinued - which I'm going to do. Carlos and his team were extremely professional and the patched floor looks great- I highly recommend Carlos Reyes and his team! read more

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Carlos. He was referred to us, and my wife and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about his professionalism and skill. We were looking to match our other white oak floors in our 1939 home, and the result we received was even better than we expected. And as a sidenote, Carlos stuck to the schedule he gave to us for both starting and completing the job... (These day it seems as if a person's integrity can never be assumed.) In short, Carlos was recommended by a different 5 star company that was booked up for months. He is a true master of his craft. He replaced / refinished a section of oak floor damaged by rain through an open window, weaving pieced in, and perfectly matching the rest of the floor. I am a wood worker, and OCD about my own work, and we had a philosophical discussion about people who care about their craft as opposed to just doing a job. He has an apprentice with him, who he is also teaching mastery, and it was interesting to watch him educating his helper. He also refinished a section of scuffed wide oak flooring in the living room to match the rest without having to do the whole floor. Prompt, professional, reasonably priced, on time, attendant to detail, extremely efficient and leaving everything clean and perfect. He also turned me on to a master painter, and has other friends, masters of other crafts. As we say in I.T. Good, Fast, Cheap - choose 2. Well, Juan is excellent, efficient and reasonable - so hitting the perfect middle of all. read more
