She's always been kind when I go there and offered great customer service!! I've been coming here for over a year and the food is good but I had an experience today that kinda put me off of Carlos. I was attempting to place an order online and the website advertised a large 1 topping and Carlos bread for $16.99 but when I did my order it came up to over $20. I went back and triple checked that I checked every box correctly but still coming up way over price. So I call the store to place my order instead. When the worker answered the phone I explained to him just to let him know there might be a website glitch and he repeatedly interrupted me insisting I was clicking wrong buttons when I know I didn't because I did it 3 different times making sure I had everything correct and still came up way overpriced. I told him it's no big deal I'm gonna just order over the phone. He informed me of a coupon they had that was only good till 2pm. (It was 1:40 at the time) I informed him I was placing an order now but for 2:45 and asked if they'd still honor it since I'm ordering now but picking up in an hour. He then said "umm I didn't hear a word you just said" I repeated my question and He laughed in a very condescending way and said "no you can't just say hey I'll order now and pick up at 6pm it doesn't work like that" I didn't have a problem with not being able to use the coupon just a problem with his sarcasm, phone etiquette and customer service. read more

Very disappointed! Placed a pickup order and was told it would be ready by 6:50, mind you we placed our order 30 minutes prior. We walk in and are told "sorry we never made your order because it got stuck in the system" that was a lie because they had our salad ready before we even walked in. They gave our pizzas away! Carlos makes a good pizza. There's an old fashioned taste in there not found in most chains. I think it's the sauce that sets it apart. The bread sticks are full of Italian cheese and a step above the competition too. I'm not a fan of the large pizza specials. It's the smallest large I've seen and the toppings are clearly skimped upon. Like most East-side pizza places, they ration the pie to meet the price points. Uninspired describes it best. I was impressed by the New York style pizza however at $11.99 it didn't include any toppings. Who sells a New York style pizza with no included topping??? When I was in NYC pepperoni always came with the deal. BOTTOM LINE: Good pizza with the usual nickel-and-dime business practices found all over the East side. Real rating is 3.5 stars. read more

Let me start by saying I've never written a review before, but this Has to be done. Today I ordered a large square pizza, salad and cheese bread. When my wife picked up a slice of pizza it was visible that there was a long 12 inch piece of HAIR holding it to another slice of pizza. I decided to call Carlos and spoke with manager Steve. I informed him of the hair in the pizza. Steve said he had to see the hair for proof but then added that he believes me but has to see it first. I then offered for him to come out to my house and pick up the pizza, at which he denied. I asked for an account credit for a pizza. Steve told me NO. My wife initially drove 6 miles to pick this order up. We are outside of their delivery zone but we go to the extra miles because it is so good. This will be the last time I ever order from Carlos. I know mistakes happen but there's no accountability or sincere apology. That is why I have a problem with this location and I will never spend another penny there. My cousin works at the salon in the end of the strip mall this little joint is in. My diva queen daughter and I were going to the salon to get her hair done for homecoming and it was lunch time. I dropped her off inside the salon and walked down to get a sub to share and a couple slices. Good stuff!! They have the slices ready to go, and the sub was gonna take a few minutes so the girl asked if she could walk the sub back down to us. I said sure and took the ready slices back. DQ loved the pizza, and within 10 minutes the girl who helped me walked down the sub. Toasted Italian, it was delicious!! Great place, i'm real glad I stopped in. Female owner (assumed) is extremely Rude. Interior is dirty. Plenty of other pizza places around to give business to. Go elsewhere. In response to another rude comment. I did not deal with a Steve. I dealt with a rude woman. I stood there ready to order a slice of pizza. I forgot my mask. The woman asked me, "sir, do you have a mask"? I said sorry, I forgot it". This woman pointed at the door and said, "get out, I can't serve you". I said ok and left. I did sit in my car and order carry out from elsewhere. And I did give you a bad review. Whatever your rationing is, I was a customer. I have been for years. But now, I will never step foot in your business again. Rather than being confrontational, try problem solving. You could have said, "sir, you need to order outside". Or, I'm sorry sir, you need to have a mask on". Instead, you looked at me like a leper, pointed at the door, and told me to get out. Nice customer service. That's fine. Here's a tip, put some masks on your counter for customers. It will cost you a whole $5. But, know You will never get $5 from me ever again. I kept seeing the delivery cars in the neighborhood and had to give it a try. I think they have one of the best square pizzas around Macomb. I can't recommend the Chicago stuffed pizza though. It in no way resembles Chicago pizza. It's two pizzas as a sandwich, which both happen to be over-cooked. Was not impressed with it. read more

It's a shame that customer service will make us find somewhere else to support. We did not receive the pizza we ordered and when my husband returned for the replacement pizza the woman at the counter was rude instead of apolegetic for their mistake. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 is because it's not the absolute best pizza I've ever had but it was definitely above average and better than most of the surrounding pizzerias. Yet again another great experience! My son has been gone for a couple weeks as he came home today. He got to choose dinner and he chose Carlos. We ordered delivery and when the order came it was incorrect. Not a huge deal but I called and they made and sent back the correct order! One they were incredibly pleasant and apologized and two they corrected the mistake and the food was again amazing as usual! I have yet to have a problem here that wasn't resolved quickly and courteously. Other businesses should take note that if you want to keep loyal customers this is how you do business! If you order food from this store I hope the manager likes you or you might not like what you get in your food. Let me explain. This was my first time coming to this Carlo's. I called for a takeout Chicago style pizza. The girl told me 45 minutes. I said that seems a little long. I was going to be there in 20 minutes and didn't want to wait at the store for 25 minutes. She said that is because they have to send the pizza thru twice. I told her I know, the Harrison Twp. Store does too, but has it ready in 30 minutes. She said it has to be done all the way thru. I said forget the order, I will go elsewhere. She then said well, 30-40 minutes. I said fine. When I walked in 30 minutes later the food was ready. The manager asked my name and when I told him he said, oh, you are the guy that threatened to go to another store. I said yes I am. His response was "that is a good way to get your food spit on." I told him what I thought of his business and that I would never come back. I will repost this weekly to warn this guy's customers in the future. read more
