I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this inhumane doctor. I am a domestic abuse survivor whose…read moredegenerative neck disease worsened because of the violence that I had just escaped. As a new patient, I was treated like a leper - the NP asked me "why I wanted to be disabled" then she made several referrals to specialists without my consent that have nothing to do with my condition. I needed a few pages of paperwork done and she said she could handle that no problem after that I got a week long run around from the office staff for a week - everyone I spoke to was more uninformed than the next. I was told that the doctor could help me based on the 17 years worth of medical records and most ER visit scans. The paperwork is pretty straightforward part B of the disability so I ultimately had a TeleMed appointment with the doctor himself because a member of his staff said that he would be able to accommodate me. I innocently joined the TeleMed appointment was told immediately that the doctor did not like me and that he was discharging me from his office just like that- horrible. I was referred to this medical practice by my insurance and I had high hopes stay away from this doctor's office. They are unorganized and the doctor is hateful and evil.

Professionals over the decades felt I had advanced as far as possible. Fast forward 47 + years enter Dr Bender. She is most extraordinary though it is what I would want our medical team members to model. She is tough yet thorough. Thrilled I finally am getting attention my TBI needs. Honestly I feel a difference and this is mid Nov 2025 first visit. She wants me in sooner. I return every other month for check up. She deserves 10 gold stars I can give her 10 here

Dr. Bender literally goes through your ENTIRE medical history. Diet, labs, medications... everything. Took awhile to get an appointment (as a new patient) but I now understand why (they take the time to request all your records and then actually read them?!) and she is SO worth the wait. I've never had an appointment where my list of issues and questions were so completely and throughly answered. Printouts... homework and goals set. Very nice, clean and organized office. Frank, (the office manager/medical assistant when needed) was a pleasure to speak/work with. I think I'm still a little in shock over my appointment. Seriously. It was that amazing.

Even though he was on…read moreinsurance as my doctor of record, they would not schedule an appointment until I had a little plastic card. My appointment was thorough. He made a good suggestion to move the time I take my blood pressure meds to avoid fatigue. That was a good suggestion. In December, I started receiving calls that I needed to pay $1500 per year to have care in his practice. I needed several referrals at my appointment. The one for imagining and bone density was fine. Dermatology was done incorrectly. When you call, you leave a message. By the time the Dematology referral was fixed, I was leaving on a trip. The sleep study to diagnose sleep apnea was never properly completed. The referral to cardiology was fine. 50% seemed too low to pay $1500 for services. I moved to Eisenhower 365. My new doc reviewed the same scan Dr. Gorman saw as fine. He deemed it not all fine and is sending me for a biopsy for cancer screening. If I in fact have cancer, it would have been nice to know a year ago. It could explain the fatigue. I pray the outcome is ok. I guess he did me a favor by chasing me away to get better services.

We were devastated when he left the Optum group to open his own concierge practice. We simply can't 'afford' to not use our insurance and pay out of pocket (like so many desert winter people CAN afford to do.). We wish him well but we will admit, we have struggled to find another doctor like him and it's been 18 months... hopefully we will find someone as good...All good things come to an end I guess.

However, it appears, in my opinion, that he has been a little lax in keeping up with modern technology and his record keeping could use some help. I went in for a possible heart murmur and he did an echo-cardiogram on me. The thing is, when I asked him to send a copy of the measurements and results to another doctor for a second opinion, he just gave me a one-sheet summary of HIS interpretation of the results. He said he couldnt give me the actual results because it was on a VHS TAPE! I asked him then for a hard copy of the results which should be in my file, which any doctor would use as a backup in case the VHS TAPE(!) got lost or destroyed. He told me that they dont keep a backup. I asked why not and he said they have never needed one before. Duh. Anyway, I insisted in a copy of the quantatative results and he finally gave them to me a week later. My "second opinion" doctor looked them over and said that three important measurements were not done and now I have to get another echo and pay for it myself because the insurance company wont pay for two. I dont usually do reviews, but this experience was pretty interesting, so I thought it would be worth my time in order to inform other potential patients to make sure that when you visit Dr. Majid, you make sure he does a thorough job with up to date equipment.
