Early on, after one visit our dog developed an ear infection from water getting into his ear. I paid the vet bill and chose not to make a big deal out of it because things happen. We continued going and things seemed mostly fine until today. On Monday they called asking if I could move our Friday appointment to Tuesday. I agreed and brought my dog in at the time they requested, 2:00 PM. When we dropped him off, we asked when they closed and were told 5:00 PM and that he would be ready around 4:45. They normally call when he is ready. Around 4:50 I still had not received a call so I phoned to check. The woman who answered said she would check and came back saying he was ready. We arrived at 4:55. After waiting for a couple ahead of us to pay, we paid and tipped as we always do. Usually they bring him right out, but this time they did not. I walked toward the back desk thinking he would be coming out any second. That's when I heard someone yelling aggressively and cursing at my dog. I looked behind the door to confirm it was Carissa and asked, "Excuse me, are you talking to my dog that way?" She immediately denied it. Another girl was in the room and when I asked, she said "it wasn't me," meaning she wasn't the one speaking to him that way. What made this even worse was that my dog was still on the grooming table being cut, meaning he was not actually ready when they told me he was. It was already close to closing time. She immediately changed her tone and said he was doing great, then rushed him off the table covered in hair. His nails were not finished and the overall grooming job was terrible. But the unfinished groom is not even the main issue. The way my dog was being spoken to and handled is completely unacceptable. No animal should ever be yelled at or cursed at like that. If this is how pets are treated when owners are not watching, people deserve to know. I will never bring my dog back here. If you care about how your pet is treated, I strongly suggest finding another groomer.

Today was my little 17-week-old Yorkie puppy's first official grooming. I was thrilled to have…read morefound groomer Carissa, as she used to groom my previous Yorkie so beautifully for years at another business before he crossed the rainbow bridge. ( See my review from 2016 at a business that has since closed). Current Yorkie puppy is 2.79 lbs at 17 weeks. He finally completed his vaccines, so we got him scheduled with Carissa. He is tiny and looked like a fluff ball. I'd bathed him a couple of times since I got him at 8 weeks and have been working on brushing and combing him out daily to every other day. Unfortunately, he is still getting used to this, and it is not his favorite activity. Carissa was super patient with him and she did a wonderful job! She bathed, dried, and brushed him out. That alone was a big success! She trimmed up his eye area, now I can see his eyes much better. I'm sure he can see better as well! She trimmed up his paw pads so now he'll have better traction on my wood floors. She trimmed up hair around his paws, trimmed up the sides of his lower body, (the skirt), and also trimmed up the hair around his penis. Carissa explained how he was not a fan of being brushed and she gave him multiple breaks so he'd stay calm. He didn't do well on the grooming table and was being a bit frantic, not staying still. She explained this is not unusual for a puppy new to grooming. He feared the trimmer, so how Carissa managed to trim those tiny paw pads is pure skilled grooming experience. Carissa said he was also very "face shy," I believe is what she called it. So how she was able to trim that crazy hair around his eyes is again due to her wonderful skills! I know he was a challenge and I couldn't be happier with all Carissa accomplished for his first grooming. She and I talked about how he did and how I should continue to work on getting him comfortable with brushing him daily. Hoping shorter, fun, positive, little brushing sessions throughout the day help get him accustomed soon. She also recommended exposure to the vibration and sound of an electric toothbrush to get him more comfortable with trimmers (obviously not to brush his teeth). Best if all, he looks better after his first grooming with Carissa! He'll be seeing her again in ~4 weeks for his second and hopefully, first full trim. Thank you Carissa!

This shop is wonderfully patient with him, and every time I've been there, the place has at least 1 or 2 other poodles (or mixes) happily in the pen. That should speak to their service. Christian usually takes care of my buddy. He is incredibly polite and he also takes the time to hear my concerns before and after grooming. I feel like he's immensely attentive -- as he takes notes on what I liked or didn't like about the cut; he notices when I'm early, stressed, etc; and he offers help for tackling various issues (matting, dry skin, etc). He is great! My buddy leaves here with a cute bandana or bow tie, and even though my dog hates being groomed, he doesn't seem stressed when we pull up.

City Bark employees were friendly and explained the process. During the boarding visit I received a daily update that included a photo, my dog's activity and the amount of food they consumed. I picked up my dogs and they seemed happy and healthy.

My dog got pink eye her second week there then kennel cough her 3rd week! I asked the staff if they had kennel cough going around and they said no. Took my dog to the vet and she was diagnosed with it. My dog was sick for a couple weeks. And I had to buy medication for both instances. It's so hard to trust places. No signs of physical abuse but they need to work on their cleanliness.

Noticed after we got home the pink area on one paw. Closer observation discovered two areas on that paw each with slight matting I would presume from the no stop product that was used to stop bleeding. Two other paws had been injured the same. Also, the coat was cut uneven and the face barely trimmed. So sorry and sad that I put my sweet pup through this.
