    Empanadas and Tacos
    Kristina K.

The food was DELICIOUS! I would so come back here again. We had the empanadas, tacos and pastelitos. Our server was wonderful, the owner checked in too! Really cute and authentic place.

Best avocado toast I've ever had! It's on a special large round English muffin bread. I swear it was about 7 inches.

This is a hidden gem! OMG the owner is the nicest and the food he's creating is amazing!!!

My family and I went here recently, the food was delicious especially the empanadas. Everything was right on, the coffee from Puerto Rico was really good. The owners and staff were very friendly. The ambiance was warm and seeing pictures of Puerto Rico made me feel happy about where my family came from. My family and I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Caribbean Hash

Just returned from San Juan and was missing the food. Caribbean Sunrise was just what I needed. The Carribean Hash is amazing, corned beef hash mixed with the sweet plantain is the perfect combo of sweet and savory. The beans are just as good as anything on the island. My only wish is they offered individual sides of the beans and maduros and iced coffee as option.

Best Puerto Rican Coffee I've had!! The food is delicious and packed with flavor. The bread for their breakfast sandwich has a great taste and crunch. Owner was very friendly and talked to me about his journey getting this place open. Also was a cute atmosphere and decor.

    Pinchos and tostones

A hidden gem near the beach. Amazing authentic Puerto Rican food with very friendly staff. Their jibaritos and pinchos etc are delicious. You may not have had one of these in your life, but I promise you're missing out. Their breakfast is also great. Go get it.

    Breakfast Sandwich

Can't believe I'm just finding out about this spot! I tried the breakfast sandwich and the Puerto Rican imported coffee, both were delicious. The bread was soft, bacon thick, everything tasted fresh and hot. The coffee was smooth and such a treat! The owner was friendly and passionate about his restaurant. I hope this place thrives!

Great food and service! The pork tacos with chimichurri were exactly what we needed after a day of cycling.

The food is good, but not usually worth these long wait times imo. Today, was a cloudy and cold Wednesday mid morning. The place was busy, but no long wait times. The food is always good. Everything I've ever eaten on the menu is good... but I have a special affinity for pig 'n the blankets, banket, and any Mexican inspired breakfast item in the menu. Today I had the chorizo Benny. It was fabulous and worth the $15 imo. Our waiter, Pedro, was the best! He's worked there for over a decade and knows the family that runs this restaurant--- 3 Dutch brothers--- he gave me a run down on the lore and all the pictures are of their family photos hanging around the restaurant. I think that's pretty cool. They will be opening and expanding into a new restaurant location on the corner of River and Lakewood Blvd sometime in the near future. That location will have more of a "hipster" vibe with breakfast cocktails, etc. Check them out when you want... but if you don't want to wait come during off peak hours and off season times. Make sure to peruse their bakery for some goodies to take home. Salud.

I drove up and loved the spacious parking lot. Walking in, the bakery was well lit and clean, and a bit overwhelming. They had so many kinds of baked goods, including some Dutch specialties like banket. (I honestly have no idea what that is but I know it's a Dutch pastry.) You can order 2, 3, 5, or 12 tenders at a time, and you can get them as a combo (with fries and a drink) or just by themselves. I opted for two tenders, one plain and one with original dry rub which is kind of like a ranch flavor. I also ordered a Diet Coke. The food didn't take too long to come out, and the tenders were hefty and super crispy. I liked the dry rub, but I think I'd just go with plain next time because they have the most delicious honey mustard. The Diet Coke was also super crispy and this was such a nice snack. They also have a menu of breakfast options like egg sandwiches, bagels, avocado toast, etc. The lunch menu is rounded out with salads, sandwiches, and mac and cheese. If I lived nearby I think I'd be a regular here!
