This is a restaurant operated by independent industry veterans who really know what they are doing. Right out of the gate they start with high quality food which is so lacking at other restaurants along highway 7. There is actual talent in the kitchen with many, if not most entrees built from scratch. Excellent wait staff. Completely renovated interior with two levels. My wife and I have started to travel 30 minutes to eat there despite the cost of gas because it is totally worth it. The restaurant manager is Tara, a veteran restauranteur. The new owner is Bala. Real class act welcoming guests to the restaurant. Fully licensed. Highly recommend.

We sat on the patio to enjoy the view and of course you don't have that chance all year long. The tables inside were almost full and it was loud; everyone was enjoying a nice meal and the company. The staff are nice and friendly. We ordered "Shrimp Taco", "Seafood Linguini with Alfredo Sauce", "Battered Haddock", "Salmon New Orleans" and "Sautéed Shrimp". Our food came with sides our choice; grilled vegetables, fries, green salad and mashed potato. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Spectacular breakfast and some of the best customer service ever. Loved the servers and thoroughly enjoyed the food. (And I am sorely sorry to those who had different experiences!) I came to learn recently that Birdy's has come under new ownership within the last year or so. As such, the menu has changed and the quality of the food has more certainly dropped. We used to go there pretty often for special occasions. Birthdays, meetings, etc. Before, the menu boasted variety and class in Belleville that could not top other restaurants. Yet in dining here again in June, 2024, I am sad to say that they have eradicated a good majority of their menu for "basic" and mundane pallets. My spouse and I used to go for their vegan options which surpassed most other places we've tried, yet were surprised to find that the stroganoff we often eat was no longer there. Half the vegan menu was erased. Instead replaced by the simplest and cheapest of curries and another dish. Two options. Two, compared to the four-five that were given before. Also very curious to claim it as a vegan dish when the kitchen nor the new owners have read the packaging on the pita bread that accompanied it. (It was not Vegan so if vegans are eating here, please beware!!) The portions were also a bit small for the extravagant prices. It was one of our favourites and I hope to see return to what it was prior to the ownership change, but it is clear that the new owners are less inclined to think about quality and more inclined to think about the profit it generates. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The croquette was perfectly crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside. It was a lot better than other croquettes I've had in Canada. The octopus was also really good, it was perfectly flavoured and the texture was not too chewy. The star of the show was the paella. The paella was super good, a little on the saltier side. The mussels were delicious, but it was a bit sandy inside, I felt it could be cleaned a bit better. Overall love this restaurant and would come back!

I recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment. We were early for our reservation and the hostess was able to give us a table. There are 2 dining rooms with different themes. The front room has a beautiful bar beside the open air kitchen. The dining area has a nice bright rustic ambiance. Definitely, a great place for date night. The rear dining room has a lounge feel. The light is dimmed and tables have candlelights. There's nice lounge music playing here as well. Now for the food. The menu is divided into 3 sections: Tapas del bar - small dishes to share and sample some curated Spanish delicacies. Grande provides a selection of main course entrees. Paella is a Valencian rice dish that is great for sharing and served on a large cast iron skillet. We ordered the jamon croquetas. The croquetas were served with pickles and garlic aioli. They are delicate and packed with flavor. The second tapas we ordered was the Albacore tuna served with bulgur cracker. The dish was esthetically pleasing and we really enjoying the green liquid sauce. Very impressive dish. For our main we decided to share the seafood paella which consisted of Argentina red shrimps, organic salmon, and mussels. The rice was flavorful and we love the crispy rice on the bottom of the skillet. This dish checked all the boxes in flavor, presentation, and texture. We finished our meal with the grand finale: Spanish Churro. This is not your regular churro. This was shaped like a cinamon bun and you have two delightful dipping sauces - dolce de leche and dark chocolate. This was by far the best churro I've ever had. Overall, the experience was exceptional and I recommend this place if yoi are looking to try some elevated Spanish cuisine. The server was attentive and provided advice on how to eat each dish. The prices are on the higher-end so plan on spending about $50-$75 per person.

I rolled into Belleville on a late Saturday afternoon. After I had checked in to my hotel room, I…read morewanted to have dinner and drove over to Pho Viet. The parking scene here is odd. There was a huge truck blocking the entry way. I actually cycled around the block before he left. There are roughly five tight parking spots at the back of the restaurant. I ended up parking next door at a bicycle place that was closed and walked in. A woman said that there was only takeout on Saturdays. How interesting. I was fine with that. Thank goodness I had already checked into the hotel that I was staying at, so I could take my food back. I ordered the rare beef and beef pho noodle soup. It only comes in one size. I also got a small order of pork and vermicelli rolls, with dipping sauce. I sat at one of the tables to wait for my order. There is wifi, which was helpful as I uploaded some photos and checked my e-mail. I'd say that roughly ten minutes later, my order was complete. You can pay using cash, and debit and credit cards. I paid with a credit card. The woman was nice and it felt like a family-run business. She told me to be careful with my order, as the broth was hot. I drove back to my hotel with my goodies. The broth was seeping out of my bag by the time I got to my room. The lid had popped open. Ugh! It's a good thing that I was staying in a hotel room with a kitchenette. I managed to put my vermicelli rolls on a plate. I needed to use two soup bowls to hold all my pho. The one-size-only pho felt like a medium. The vermicelli rolls were amazing. The skin part of each roll was thin and crispy. The filling was flavourful and yummy. Frankly, I should have ordered more of these rolls and called it a meal. The dipping sauce sealed the deal. My pho was disappointing. It may have tasted better all in one huge bowl at the restaurant instead of doing takeout. I only got a few bean sprouts, and my sprig of mint looked sad, wilted, and dinky. I did not like the broth. I don't like ginger slivers. It had some. It dampened my spirits. The rare beef was tough. On a good note, the beef balls were yummy. The pho noodles were done right, too. I really wanted to love this place. I will come back again for the vermicelli rolls, but will steer clear of the pho. I will also try coming back when I can sit there and dine. (335)
