    Jerk chicken roti
    Irene T.

Delicious and cheap roti! We got the curry goat roti, jerk chicken roti and a spicy beef patty. Their rotis are absolutely incredible. Super huge, filling and only $8.99! Their patty was super underwhelming. The crust was very oily/butter and soggy as if they just nuked the patty. The filling was barely there! Was quite disappointed with it. Nonetheless, I'd come back for the roti. They close at 6pm so make sure you get in early!

I forgot to take a picture before I dove in.

It was my first time trying out this family run restaurant and I was impressed with the hospitality and food. I would consider this more of a take out place as there was only one small area to sit and eat. The young man at the front was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. I decided on the rice with jerk chicken and salad as I was told this was one of their popular meals. My order came to about $10.80 and I received a free double for checking in. The double was flavourful and filling. The dough was a little more oily then im used to but the flavour made up for it. The jerk chicken was a little spicy but not overpowering. The chicken was juicy and the rice was cooked perfectly. The jerk sauce mixed into the rice makes it even better. The portions were a good size for lunch.

Seriously, I've held babies smaller than this thing! Warm, soft, tasted amazing! (The Bus up Shot, not a baby)

The chicken is really good. Portions and price is great. Seating limited and ambience is not great. It's more of a take out place.

I don't think I've ever had goat before but it was in a very traditional curry sauce, just the right amount of spice.

Philthy Philly's was one of them. This eatery is in Clarkson, just south of the GO station. Clarkson is growing on me as a neighbourhood. It is roughly twenty minutes away from my workplace, so it's quite a distance from my home. I drove over here after work on evening. I pulled into this plaza, which has a bunch of stores that I want to check out when I'm back. I parked and walked in. There is plenty of parking. There was one person placing an order. It was enough time for me to review the menu and figure out what I wanted to get. Philthy Philly's has recently introduced Broad Street burgers to its menu. I love a good burger, but I was craving a cheesesteak more. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Grow-Op burger, which is a veggie burger. The person helping me with my Groupon was helpful and cool. The redemption was straightforward. I ordered a regular cheesesteak. I got steak, with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and apple butter mesquite sauce. I also got a Phil-sized bacon poutine and a Diet Coke. I got my Diet Coke and waited for my order at a table. It gave me time to observe the artwork around me. My order was ready. I picked it up and thanked the guy. I was ready to chow down. I was hungry! The bacon poutine is the best at this Philthy Phil's. The bacon was crisp. The gravy was perfect, melting all the cheese curds into the perfect cheese pull with every fork helping. One word: fantastic! My cheesesteak was so good. It was my first time trying the apple butter mesquite sauce. It has so many complex layers of flavour. I loved that it was almost different with each bite. Yum! This place has a single women's washroom, which was spacious and clean. I saw two guys go into the men's, so I can't comment on that and don't want to speculate! I thanked the staff here when I left. It's my favourite Philthy Phil's so far in my cheesesteak journey within and around the GTA. (304)

The bread was nicely pressed, as well as being fresh and tasty. It was large enough to keep me filled however, I did decide to try my son's grilled cheese, and loved it just the same. The restaurant itself was quite small however, it was cozy. We were able to see the sandwiches being prepared from where we were sitting, along with the outside parking lot. The place was clean however, very basic decor, which made it seem more like a cafeteria instead of a restaurant. Service was excellent; was given the sandwiches pretty quickly, and with a smile. The owners were making the sandwiches themselves, which gave us a warm feeling about the love and care that was put into this place. There were definitely a lot of great items on this menu, which would bring me back to try sometime in the future.

We ordered two of the korean philly cheese steak burgers, a new addition. We called to ask why, and they told us their manager called us and we didn't pick up. I waited until his conversation was over (which I shouldn't have had to do) and ordered a chicken Sharma. The chicken was unseasoned, and lukewarm. I didn't even finish it due to how it tasted. When I opened up my wrap on the Go train , everyone around me, asked me where I got it from because it smelt delicious, and I can say it equally tasted just as good. When I walked-in, there was a line-up of customers waiting to be served at the ordering counter. I took some time to look at the menu while I was waiting in the line. The line went quickly, which was great, and before I knew it, I was at the front of the line. Upon reaching the front of the line, I was greeted by a kind young woman, whom asked what I would like. I settled on two tacos; one with ground beef, and the other with grilled chicken. I was then given a number plaque, and asked to find a table in order to wait for the food. I waited about ten minutes, then was brought the food directly to my table, which I thought was great. When I noticed the two tacos on my dish, I was impressed with how full they were. There was also additional dipping sauce that came with my meal, along with two bottles of sauces that the server gave to me when he dropped off my food items. When I bit into the tacos, I was blown away at how delicious they were! The ground beef and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection, juicy and appetizing. I loved how full the tacos were, as there was plenty to munch on, which filled me up quite quickly. Along with the hip-happening Spanish music playing on the speaker, and the Mexican-themed decor on the walls, this restaurant truly embodied authentic Mexican cuisine. We decided to start with the Fries Supreme, which have obviously been modeled after Taco Bell's iconic dish. And yeah, they definitely reminded me of that concoction. The fries could've been fresher and hotter but otherwise I quite enjoyed this messy plate. For the main, I went with a couple of tacos: the Chorizo and the Pulled Pork. The latter I found especially enjoyable, as the sauce the pork had been cooked in was delicious. (It was large chunks of pork, though, so I'm not quite sure it qualifies as pulled pork.) The many hot sauces available, plus the two sauces brought with the tacos, really elevated the whole thing, but I really enjoyed the creamy, cilantro-forward sauce included on the plate. Contigo is a cool little place. I'm sure I'll be returning.
