It's been a while since I have had Trini food and was really craving for roti. This place was marked for a long time and finally made it. The best part, the menu is clearly marked what is vegan, ordering is so easy. The girl on the counter still answered all the questions. Stuffed Roti with Daal and Channa and ordered extra hot. The large roti is LARGE and good size. The Channa very flavourful and hot sauce super good. Would definitely come again and try other dishes.

Hello fellow foodies I bring you another food review today for some curry goat and roti . This restaurant is located in the plaza beside the Fresco grocery store a nice clean and covid compliant place . I read some mixed reviews on this place but decided to try it out for myself today and see what there all about. Food 4/5 The curry goat was very nice tasty flavorful and tender well made with a really nice gravy . Really enjoyed it However for $11,00 dollars for the small portion I found it pricey . The paratha bread I really cant tell you if it was good or not as this was my first time trying this type of bread , but it seemed nice to me not having anything to compare it to . The reason for my rating is there price point and customer service . Service 2/5 my biggest issue with my first time visit to this place was the poor unsatksfactory customer service at this place just terrible . The young gentleman working behind the counter with a thuggish attitude that really seemed that he did not want to be there. Very rude attitude, not friendly at all, did not listen to instructions after asking him for hot sauce on the side twice ,he still managed not to listen or forget it in my order. And just mumbled extremely poor communication skills . I dont understand how owers of restaurants can have a front line worker like this greeting there customers and taking orders.

Found this little gem through Yelp (thanks fellow Yelpers!). Opted for the veggie plate with roti - it was so good. Tried the pumpkin, eggplant, chickpea, and potato curries, all were delicious. Roti skins were thin and tender, so so satisfying. We chose to eat in the restaurant which was cozy and clean. Bae had the boneless chicken roti and said he enjoyed it very much. They also have plenty of meat options for all of you carnivores out there. Try the "Ting" soda if you haven't before, it is a great accompaniment to the spicy roti. Will be back again to try their other vegetarian options.

I came here around 1pm on a friday and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered their lunch special to go which a small boneless chicken roti for $6 including tax. I asked for spice on the side because I find this can easily overpower the other flavours. Although they are not skimpy on the chicken, I felt that the roti was quite dry and different then what I normally get in Mississauga. There was also not enough sauce inside the roti. Although it was decent, it did not wow me enough to come back.

Came here twice in one day... literally hours apart! first time we came just got pick up some doubles because we had a craving and we were really happy with their service! Not the mention the doubles tasted amazing. While we were there we looked at the menu and decided what we did want to come back for. We usually go to the location down in scarborough so it was nice to know one closer to me was now open. So we came back to this plaza to get dinner only to be disappointed by the location we visited so we decided to go back to where we were happy. This time around we dined in, i got the goat boneless small roti and my fiancé got the regular chicken roti - mild of course. We were both happy with the portion size and flavour it, totally gave me my fix for west indian food! we definitely will be back again!

    Doubles for 1.99

This review is solely based on their doubles as I haven't tried anything else on their menu. My coworker has gotten me many doubles from the Etobicoke location, so I was psyched when I saw they were opening a location right by my house! I don't like getting my food too spicy to the point where I can't enjoy it, so I always get my doubles with slight spice. Trust me, they can make them really spicy for you if that's what you like! I just love Drupati's doubles so much! Their flavours and chick pea filling is so delicious. I've tried Vishnu's and they're just not as good to me. I kind of feel like theirs is a little too greasy. Yes, Drupati's doubles can get greasy but not as. Also a double is pretty much a meal for me and at 1.99, you really can't lose lol. They just opened this year, so if you're looking to try some good doubles, come here! My coworker also loves their chicken roti. I have yet to try it!

Lunch Special : Small Goat Roti on Paratha with slight pepper Don't think twice about this place , just go !

Everything is on point here , it's beside Gino's pizza . Service is amazing and they are very patient with you deciding what it is you want. Tomorrow I'll try their "Take 5" (5 doubles for $11.99) .

    Sahiena .. Delicious!

First attempt at Trinidad cuisine and luckily a good introduction to it. I was told by a friend to try Doubles in general and due to proximity & timings we ended up here. Service was super friendly and place is tidy. Doubles were great, not too greasy and chickpeas were melting in my mouth. For a party of six, I believe we ordered a lot! 2 doubles, 1 plulourie, 1 sahiena, 1 jerk chicken plate, 1 veg platter, 2 boneless chicken and 1 bone-in chicken plate. Too much! My major take away from today's adventure was Sahiena and Mango Curry. Without giving away any spoilers, these are a must try! Chicken in all dishes was tender and juicy. But next time around we're gonna ask for spicy level. Medium didn't leave any after taste. Guess we're gonna hunt down all other Trinidadian joints now!

My boyfriend ordered the curry goat roti for us. It looks like a burrito. The curry goat was savory, spicy and very flavorful. We would come back again to try the other items on the menu. A medium is a little too spicy for him so be careful.

I have eaten food from this place a few times now with some disappointments in the quality . But it's only fair that I give AJ'S a higher rating this time around as the food this time was quite good. The sauce was very neutral non acidic and you can clearly see sauce was feshly made for this dish and not from a jar at all really nice sauce with nice tomato chunks in sauce well seasoned with basil . The meat balls were fabulous tasted like a mixture of veal and pork homemade for sure very tender and juicy...the garlic bread that came with meal was also nice french baguette with garlic butter and sprinkled with some oregano very nice bread. Great pasta and the price was great and the lowest I found on skip the dishes for this dish. Again I have had other dishes from this place that got a 3/5 rating but this dish was well made and tasted great and recomended .

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

It's also been a reliable spot to be able to book tables for large groups. However, they have poor problem resolution if there are any issues that arise. Their food is all pretty good and drinks are fairly priced. Their staff are what I would call elusive and very no frills--beyond your first order, they're a bit hard to flag down to order additional items, settle bills, or otherwise. We had an incident where my friend ordered an alcohol-free beer, but when received, they had a sip and suspected it had alcohol in it because it tasted like the regular alcoholic version. We asked the staff to confirm if the drink they poured was actually alcoholic beer on tap, or if it was an emptied can of the alcohol-free beer. The staff came back and apologized, saying it was the alcoholic beer and poured from the tap but the order placed was indeed the alcohol-free beer. My friend then requested to have the can for the alcohol-free beer instead of poured in a glass to be safe, because she was pregnant. The staff then realized the gravity of the issue and went to get the can, saying we can keep the other glass. A few minutes later, someone who I presume to be a manager came over to say she had clarified the situation again and that it was actually NOT the alcoholic beer--which at this point we weren't inclined to trust. The manager did not apologize, but instead said that a bit of alcohol is okay when you're pregnant... We didn't say anything or raise a fuss, just smiled awkwardly. We left not too long after, and we were charged for the mistaken beer as well. This experience put a bit of damper on going to this place, as it was a frequent spot we visited for decent happy hour specials. However it's evident that staff do not know how to handle special circumstances, nor do they seem to have high EQ. If you are a person with no dietary needs, no wheelchair or crutches (because it's cramped as hell and the washrooms are located on the 2nd floor), not pregnant, and no allergies, then this place is probably fine. But if you have any of the above, then you should skip it in case of incident.
