It was breakfast time and I had scrambled eggs on toast - 2 giant sourdough slices with a huge amount of eggs and a hash brown cake. My eggs were custard-y and really good. The Mister had the "big brekkie" and it was HUGE - so huge he couldn't finish it and that's a rare thing. I ordered a vegetarian burger which turned out to be a grossly over deep-fried mushroom. It was such greaseball that I could take only two small bites, before giving up. The best part of the sandwich was the three small pickles that came with it. The other food may be OK, but the tendency seems to be to deep fry everything. read more

If you want dinner with a view, but are not trying to spend too much, then go to Cargo. Since we dined on a Tuesday evening, there was no wait, and we were able to snag booth seating by the window, overlooking the central pier at sunset in summer weather. The coolest thing was we witnessed a romantic proposal on the pier from our seats! The food was pretty good, generous portions too. Recommend trying the open souvlaki (lamb), huli huli chicken, and the seafood paella (could probably feed 3). Drinks were standard, no complaints. Service could have been more attentive; nothing to write home about. Great choice in Docklands area to bring out-of-town guests, or if you just want an affordable meal while soaking in the views. read more

The decor, view and food were top notch. Nice variety, made with healthy ingredients and right size portions. Enjoyed the fish and chips, grain and bean salad and a Margherita Pizza. Their cocktail menu was impressive. I ordered the Cargo Flirtini it was delicious. My only issue was the service it was a bit unorganized. I receive part of meal before my cocktail. Good food, great ambiance, lovely service, this place has it all. Wandered to the Docklands on a Sunday evening and was looking for a place to dine. Stumbled into Cargo and was immediately welcomed by the friendly staff. Since they are equipped with a traditional brick oven, we couldnt resist ordering a pizza. With cheese and prawns, it's a combination that I wouldnt think will be on a typical pizza. However, the flavour combination is really great and the prawns are really fresh. Pulled pork burger FTW!!! Wifey and I paid this place a visit on Sunday night and what a treat. We were looking for something easy and fun, this place looked like it fit the bill, and did it ever. The service was top notch, portions and flavors of the food were perfect. I had the pulled pork burger and wife had to have one of the pizzas. My burger was mouth wateringly savory with a hint of sweetness. The margherita pizza was pretty dang good too. Fantastic beer selection and what looked like some fun cocktails. Walked around Docklands yesterday and had an amazing deconstructed cheesecake with passionfruit sauce from this place. So good! The cheesecake is nice and creamy, and the honey corn flakes on top work great - there were graham cracker crumbles too and seasonal fruit. Good coffee. This place has an amazing location on the water. Watch the boats go by. We saw lots of boats on Australia Day 2016, including Dragon Boat races. Sat down at our table right away, no wait. Jumped into the breakfast and lunch menus and selected pizza, open souvlaki, avo mash and eggplant to share. The food was great, and it came out quick. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The eggplant was deep fried and delicious, I think this reached perfection. My avo mash was one of the best salads on toast I've ever had. I would love to go back and order this again. Service was friendly and no nonsense. Water was refilled fast. There was a delay in taking our order, but this was made up easily with plenty of attention from their wait staff after that. I've previously only stopped in at Cargo for pre-dinner drinks, but after getting a serious case of food envy the other day (eyeballing what looked like an amazing thin crust pizza), decided it was finally time to go and have a meal here. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! The menu is extensive with so many dishes that sound delicious, and we had a hard time deciding what to order. However, this problem was quickly solved by the 2 'Let us feed you' options on the back of the menu, which for $35 and $40 per person, represent amazing value in my opinion. It was a spectacular winter night down by the water. We were waiting for the fireworks to start and the football was on at Etihad so the waterfront was buzzing. Cargo invited us with warmth and libations in the form of, well warmth and beer. It was 2 adults (if you include me) and 2 kids and we quickly decided on our selections. Mac and cheese, sliders, margarita pizza and fish and chips. The food came out quickly which was a good thing because the staff quickly became overwhelmed with the Friday night crowd. The order the second beer took much, much longer and required a couple of reminders. The food was okay to good. I am an expert at fish and chips (yes, I have paperwork), and the chips were nothing to write home about. Neither was the fish. Don't get me wrong, I ate it. You just think, nice restaurant on the water, the fish and chips should be automatic. The Mac and cheese got average reviews. But a great place for date night. Great views of the water and the city. We went here for lunch. We ordered Pizza and a Pork sandwich. The pork sandwich was advertised as a pork burger, which tells me burger, pork coleslaw, etc, but nope, burger part was missing. Im still trying to figure out eating out in Australia. Service was good up to the time we got our food, then we saw no one for, and this is not an exaggeration, over 30 min!! I wanted a dessert calzone, but no one ever came over to see if I wanted one. Finally I put our empty water pitcher up on a ledge and that finally got someones attention. Once we pointed out the issue, nothing was really done about it except getting us cashed out, no offers to make up for it or anything. Disappointed with the quality of the food. From the outside it promised so much. The chicken burger is not breast meat but thigh and thus not as enjoyable. My boyfriend and I came into Cargo for a nice dinner. We were hoping to have a lovely dinner with a couple of cocktails. What happened instead was the manager came up to us and said -- can you please stop kissing each other, I voted no. This meant that we felt very discriminated against and had to leave. In this day and age I can't believe that two gay people can't go to dinner to celebrate their anniversary without feeling unsafe. If you're gay or lesbian, don't go to Cargo. read more

I told her I was still waiting on our mains to come and then she had a look on her face as if we never made the order. We were sitting there for over 30min wait for our food and were told to wait 8 more minutes for the burgers to be ready.
