On the walls, behind the counter, next to you, behind you... everywhere you look... puppets! This cafe was my favorite find on a recent trip to St Malo where too many tourist traps abound. La Java is an original joint, the real deal where the owner runs his shop with a good dose of humor and booze. Sit down, relax and don't take anything too seriously. The drinks are cheap, the company friendly and the atmosphere is like nothing you'll ever see anywhere else. Enjoy the happy bric-a-brac and wisecracking that pervades this gem of a cafe.
