I hired Cargo Cabbie to move items from storage to my new home in July. A major piece -- a blue velvet loveseat -- was never delivered. I contacted them the very next morning and didn't hear back until almost two weeks later. I submitted a formal claim with photos, receipts, and detailed communication -- and followed up multiple times. They responded slowly and blamed me for signing a delivery form, even though I had no way of knowing at the time that the item hadn't been delivered. After dragging the process out, they offered a partial refund -- but only if I signed a legal waiver and non-disclosure agreement. When I refused and made my position clear, they continued to push for a private phone call rather than resolve anything in writing. This experience was marked by delay, denial, and pressure -- all wrapped in overly polite messaging that obscured a complete lack of accountability. I can't recommend this company to anyone. [Update in response to Cargo Cabbie's reply:] I contacted them the day after the move (July 16) -- not two weeks later. I submitted a timely, well-documented claim, and their first response came on July 28. I gave clear instructions that only one loveseat was to be discarded -- not both. The blue velvet one was not authorized for disposal. The compensation they offered was conditional on a legal waiver and non-disclosure clause, which I declined. I remained open to resolution -- but not at the cost of my voice. This review reflects my truthful experience. I had an excellent experience with Cargo Cabbie when I moved to Toronto from the US. I had a very stressful move in the US, sold a house, packed everything, arrived in Toronto one day late. Cargo Cabbie was AWESOME! They adjusted my arrival date for a small fee. They completely accommodated my needs. I arrived with a UHaul and they unloaded the entire thing with great skill and care for my belongings. They assembled my bed and dresser and when a piece was missing (which was my error) they gave me advice for what to do to get it fixed. They worked quickly but carefully. I am using them again for another move to a storage unit. This time I will have them use their truck since it will be most economical. They charge a fair price and they will deliver to any storage you choose, not just their company's storage location. One other company would not empty the UHaul, but Cargo Cabbie would! They made my move on the Toronto end painless and a positive experience. They earned their tip! A friend of mine hired their company to move his office, and they did a wonderful job for his office as well. I recommend them without reservation. read more

I can't say enough about or amazing move experience with the team at Cargo Cabbie. We had to store some items during the staging of our house, and the team came by and took care of everything. The day of the move, the team was on time and took great care in wrapping our delicate items, like our glass coffee table and mirrors. When we first booked the company, all of our questions were answered in a timely and professional manner and they were candid about what we could expect. Alex, Marc, and Adam arrived on time and made our move easier than I ever dreamed it could be. We were impressed by their efficiency and careful handling of every item. They arrived prepared and with everything they'd promised to bring (extra padding for fragile items and wardrobe containers). Last Friday, I called Cargo Cabbie to ask for a quote for a move that is coming up in about two weeks. I was specifically told on the phone that once I submitted my online request for a quote, that my date would be held and movers would be available to fulfill my request. I submitted the online form immediately and then submitted my photos to Cargo Cabbie by email over the weekend, after receiving the request to do so Friday. By Tuesday afternoon, I still had not received my official quote. Instead, I got an email informing me that just as the team was preparing my final quote, the day I wanted to move was booked. As such, they could no longer help with my move. I totally get why dates wouldn't be blocked off until a reservation is final, but (a) your staff shouldn't inform people that they are; and (b) you should really try to increase your quote turnaround. read more

The communication on delivery and punctuality was good and the movers were very good. What I did not like was having no alternative but to take 3 movers for minimum of three hours and they felt we needed 5 hours. I felt 2 movers would work since as they were only moving furniture to a garage. It took them 1.5 hours to complete and the cost was almost $900. I felt the push for 3 movers was a push for more money or it showed their inexperience. The third person disassembled but truly unnecessary as the job could be handled 2 people. Cargo Cabbie management team followed up and we discussed my dissatisfaction. They were agreeable to alter my invoice to 2 men for 3 hours. Excellent client follow up. Cargo cabbie had moved items for my university student in the past. He, as many students, is moving again. Most items have not changed. I was verbally told on the phone a certain date was booked however another was available for us. I said, great let's book that date. I then booked flights, elevator times in both buildings, signed the new lease to that date selected, etc. I, received another call stating they cannot insure the glass desk top (they previously moved and insured) or dining glass top. They would need approval from the owner, in which a couple days later I recieved with the estimate I agreed to right away. The very next morning, Kate called to tell me a verbal agreement to a date is not good enough and they booked our day /time to someone else while we were waiting for our estimate that was in hold from their staff. If you cannot commit to a verbal promise you are worth less than the paper your letter head is written on. The owner started this company due to his own stress and bad experience he had while moving and after reading these reviews, I'm not the only one left with that same stress that the basis of this very company was founded. I will never recommend nor use this company again. I have no means to defend myself after the owner replies, bashing me,my education or comprehension, my character, etc. This is the exact abuse and bullying... and lack of customer service or care this team has offered over the phone. I know see they are only following their leader. When you aren't Superman or Wonder Woman, moving a washer and dryer without the correct aid is impossible, not to mention problematic to your own individual safety. I needed a newly delivered stacked washer and dryer set moved out of the way in order to get some electrical work done. After a series of dead ends in trying to get reasonable and accessible help, I submitted a request online to Cargo Cabbie and then spoke to the staff there about what I needed done. From the first point of contact to the conclusion of the service required, you are treated with respect and care. Moving, regardless if it is a single item across the room or across town lends an added stress that nobody needs. Javier gave his assurances that no job was too small and that his employees would handle it with professionalism which they did. They arrived in uniform and strategized what they needed to do before they started. I would definitely give Cargo Cabbie business again. After 2 voicemails, an email and a quote request, I haven't heard back from them at all. Multiple phone calls were made with no answer. I was going to leave this be, but a company not returning your calls or emails or responding to their quote tool online is simply bad business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This was the worst experience I have ever had using any service. I was specifically told by Katerine from "customer service" that we had a priority hold on our date and all that was left was to send the pictures of what we were moving so they can accept our deposit. I found this quite strange that they wouldn't take a deposit but figured the date was held and we would finalize once I took the pictures. I asked Katerine to send an email confirming the priority hold which she never did. The next day I sent an email with the images and details to confirm the move and Kate responded that the date had been booked. I called Kate immediately and was quite upset and she told me there's no such thing as a priority hold & that's not part of their process. I wouldn't say Kate was rude but she certainly didn't care that I was upset or offer anything to make up for the experience. Additionally, she tried to make it seem like a miscommunication which it clearly was not. I was lied to. Basically, if you're looking for a complicated process, unreliable company, being lied to, and treated rudely when you call to complain then I guess I would recommend this company. read more

Why aren't all moving companies like Cargo Cabbie?! Without a doubt, these guys were the best movers I've had of the 4 I've used in the past. I had to coordinate a pretty last minute move (less than 5 days) from my storage locker to my new apartment. Customer service from the office was great - quick to respond to the form I submitted on their site, and also quick to confirm the details of my move that same day. Chris and the two other movers were super friendly, courteous, and careful with my belongings - the original move was estimated to be around 4 hours, and they finished in 2, beating me to my apartment when I went to meet them from the storage unit. They were also thoughtful about where to put the boxes in each of the rooms in my apartment, and arranging them for me so I wouldn't have a hard time later shuffling them around on my own to unpack. I was pretty surprised when I met them: all the movers I've had in the past have ranged from terse and inarticulate to straight up sketchy and rude - while also being careless with the move. I am deeply offended with the way cargo cabbie treated me. I called on a friday needing an immediate move. Unfortunately by the time they got back to me, I had found someone else that said they could move me so we went ahead and booked them. Monday morning rolls around and the other movers didn't show up so I called Cargo Cabbie again requesting their assistance. The man I spoke to was INCREDIBLY rude and basically told me that because I didn't hire him on the Friday, he was not interested in helping me and hung up on me. I tried calling him back and he would hang up on me whenever I called. I do not believe that this is the way you treat a potential customer and was very angry to be treated this way after I had done NOTHING wrong. These guys are fantastic. The booking process was easy and transparent, and the office staff was very responsive. I had no issue with booking or confirming my date (everything was emailed immediately when confirmed). The crew showed up on time and started hustling immediately. They moved all of our boxes into the truck in like 45 minutes, it was really impressive. They brought lots of supplies to protect items and floors - floor runners, cello tape, blankets, straps, etc. They were really nice people, obviously worked well together as a team, and were enthusiastic about the job. They were also very strong, and extremely creative in moving large and awkward pieces, including hoisting a couch from a third floor balcony. There was a delay in moving our shed due to the size, and Javier went above and beyond in making it happen for us, I personally have never encountered this high a level of professionalism and customer service before. Yes, they may be more expensive, but they are super efficient and professional, and I suspect we paid less for the value of services we got than if we went with another company. For a reference point, our 2+den bedroom apt move was done in about 5-6 hours. read more

I spent an entire morning trying to call them , fanilly when the girl answered I explained to her that my place was flooded and I needed to move my bed and couch to storage so it doesn't get damaged. She said that it would be no problem and not to worry . She said they have crew finishing up soon and they would come once they done. She was suppose to call me back in 15 because she needed to confirm with her manager. 3 HOURS LATER I'm still stuck in my apartment waiting for her call . I've tried calling their office number dozen and dozen of times . Still haven't heard back from them! Thanks to Jef at Rent a son for sending their crew at 9 pm .
