Being a medical professional myself, I understand the inner workings of clinics. I do not recommend this clinic. They are extremely slow in getting patients in and out. It personally took me two and a half hours, with four others in the waiting room, to have a simple urinalysis, blood draw, and TB test. While waiting I visited with a young man that was there and he stated he had to come back for his drug screening on that day, because he had waited an hour and a half the day before and had to leave. Totally inexcusable! To top it all off he came in 30 minutes after I did and he was taken back before me for the same test! This facility runs on a skeleton crew and the poor lab lady is overwhelmed!! Avoid if all possible! I will be advising my company to move their testing to another provider! read more

Care Now-ha, more like Care Later! Wait is insane even after the call-back. Nurse was extremely rude and very unprofessional. X-ray tech brought me in then realized she had the wrong patient paperwork. Noticed on my bill I was charged for 3 x-rays-they only took 2! Thought this would save me time and money versus going to a real ER, that obviously was not the case. I would recommend you go to the real professionals at the Hospital! read more

Warning! Do not go here. I went to the Care Now about two months ago for a thumb injury and the doctor did X-rays to make sure nothing was broken which is good, but then told me it would be good to get a brace for it and it would be 100% covered. Two months later I got a bill saying I owed $50 for a brace that I was told would be 100% covered by the doctor and that was the only reason I accepted it knowing I could get one from walmart for $10 or less. read more

I love this care now, the wait can take forever just like any other urgent care, but they go just as fast as they possibly can, very efficient! I felt absolutely horrible and was very nervous and slightly embarrassed to come in for just allergies, the doctor was very thorough and spent a good amount of time with me, he made me feel justified to have come in and was so nice. Then a nurse came in to give me a steroid shot which I was incredibly nervous about because I've had some painful ones before, she was so kind and patient and was so good I didn't even feel a thing! Wonderful staff all around, never had one bad experience in all my years coming to this care now. And the building is as clean as can be! read more

I was very happy with the service that I received. The Nurse, Doctor and Staff was excellent, I would recommend them to anyone. I loved that I was able to Check-in online because my wait time was pretty long and I was able to wait at home. I went to this location several months ago after fracturing my foot on a Friday night. I was X rayed, given a boot and crutches and told to see an Orthopedist ASAP. I asked if everything was covered by my co pay and was told repeatedly that it was. I had a pair of crutches at home and certainly didn't need to pay for any more. I was told I had a fracture where weight must not be placed my foot. Again, I asked REPEATEDLY if everything was covered. When I went to the Orthopedist the next Monday, I was told that I had been completely misdiagnosed, that all I needed to do was wear the boot, continue normal activities and my foot would heal, no need for crutches. A couple of weeks later I received a bill from CareNow for over $200! I can see maybe $20 or $30, but $200?? When I ask if something is covered and you don't know, say, "I DON'T KNOW'! I feel I was completely a victim of fraud! And they didn't even read the X rays correctly! These people are masters of RIP OFF! read more

Here's the deal. When you do this be prepared to wait. We have done this a couple of times at the same place. Yesterdays wait was up to 3 hours. When they told us it would be three hours I took my son home. My wife and I went to a birthday dinner. I get a call from CARENOW and the guy tells me that he needs my drivers license. I said you can see it when we come in at our time. Then he says, he has to have it NOW. I said, "Why didn't you ask me for this when we came in to set up the appt.?" He said, "I thought I had it but realized then that I didn't." Here is the kicker, He said to me, " You don't have an appointment until I can scan your driver's license." So I asked him if we had lost our place. He said yes. He said I will put you in front of the line as soon as you can get us your license. Well I was not happy. As soon as we got there we were still at the end of the patient list. Not a very good policy. read more

After calling ahead to get an appointment we had over an hour wait once we got to the room. The waiting room wait was quick and only 2 other patients. It really did not seem to be very busy for such a long wait. If there was good reason to keep us so long it would have been nice for someone to at least have the respect for our time to let us know that they were running so far behind. read more

I came in on a Sunday in need of an allergy shot. I was also having trouble breathing, a very scary situation. I came in, filled out paperwork, and was called back within 10 minutes of waiting. I do not remember the name of the nurse, but she was very prompt and informative. I then saw Dr. Lloyd Walton, who was one of the kindest and most gentle doctors I have ever been to. It is one big cattle call. You get herded through, see multiple staff members and then a doctor. If all you need is a prescription for an antibiotic or steroid, then this is your place. If, however, once you leave you have an issue with the antibiotic or any other medication that you were given...good luck getting a call back. They have your money already and have moved on to the next round of cattle in the waiting room. I hate to go to the ER for a sinus infection, but I would rather go where I can get someone who cares. read more

I was very impressed with the office staff and Dr. Nguyen. The staff was professional, courteous and listened. I worked in a medical office a few years ago, and know everything to look for in a "good" office. This one made the mark in all areas. Dr. Nguyen was very welcoming when I met him. He really listened to the problem I was describing and asked excellent questions, as well as did a thorough exam. I did not feel rushed AT ALL, and it was near closing time at 9:00 p.m. He gave me a correct diagnosis and also took the time to write down his recommendations for over the counter medication/supplements to take. Very kind and caring doctor. I will not hesitate to visit this Care Now again, and especially request Dr. Nguyen. read more

This was my first time using an urgent care clinic. I loved the fact I could check in online and then they would call me when they were ready for me to be seen. From Victoria at the front desk who checked me in to the Nurse Practitioner Jennifer who tended to my injury who was so informative! They were awesome and I was in and out within an hour. The Nurse was so helpful with my questions and the Dr. called me the next day to see how I was healing. I just thought WOW a NP who cares! As a RN in an acute area at one of the magnet hospitals in the Dallas area I would steer clear of this facility especially Dr Walton.

First, I must say that the staff are friendly enough and the clinical is very well maintained. The competence of the staff (ESPECIALLY the doctors in charge) is a completely different story, however. We went in because my boyfriend had been in near constant pain for over 3 days after attending a rock concert with lots of "mashing" (everyone rams into each other). He had been taking ibuprofen regularly and drinking plenty of fluids but the pain wouldn't go away, so we decided to get it checked out and hopefully get something to help him with his pain. After spending over two and a half hours, and undergoing an extremely unnecessary X-Ray, their only advice was to continue taking ibuprofen... If we had not already been on an ibuprofen regimen this could make sense, but we've tried that for the past three days with no relief. THAT IS WHY WE CAME TO A PHYSICIANS OFFICE... The doctors reasoning for not giving my boyfriend any sort of pain medication was that he takes a prescription every night for anxiety, and the physician said that those prescriptions were already too sedative to take with a pain pill... Now, I'm not a doctor, but I can tell you from both firsthand experience and through intensive research that this medication has a VERY low risk of MILD sedative properties (i.e. it will slow racing thoughts at night) but is in no way intended to treat any form of insomnia. We brought that up to the physician in charge and his only response was "Well, all I can tell you is to keep taking the ibuprofen and it'll wear off in about a week." COMPLETELY unprofessional and unethical!!! Will NEVER return to this clinic. EVER. read more

Do not go to this care now. It is clean and nice looking. But they don't have a single care if you about you or anyone. All they care about is getting as much money out from you as possible. And they don't end up even helping you. I went there a month ago, and was to weak to even walk. I first asked then around how much it would be because at the time I didn't have much money and no insurance, and no doctor. They said it would be $100 maximum, and if they did any tests it would be more. The doctor was extremely young and naive. We waited there for several hours, and got maybe 5 minutes of his time. He asked me about all the symptoms I had, and then He said "oh sounds like the flu" and then said "do you want me to prescribe you medicine? It will be around $200." I said no, I don't have that kind of money. That was all I got from him. Ended up having to pay $200 anyways. They couldn't tell me why the price was so high either. They lie, and try to smuggle as much money out of you as possible and don't even help you. That day I threw away $200 on just getting to talk to a do for for 5 minutes and got no help what so ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Doesn't even deserve a star. read more

I love the web check in!!! I was called back within 5 minutes of checking in online and was told it was going to be an hour and a half wait. They called me back in 45 minutes telling me they had a room ready for me. When I got there I was put into a room within 5 minutes. Dr. Walton was very friendly and knowledgeable and the nurse that checked me in and out was very sweet and helpful. I was out of there in under an hour. I am already feeling better thanks to CareNow. The web check-in for care now is just ridiculous and needs to be perfected. I did web check-in and still waited 45 minutes to be seen. I was the only one in the waiting room. A customer came in after 20minutes of me waiting. They were seen immediately!! About 5 minutes later another customer came in.... Seen immediately. I asked why is it taking so long to be seen. I was told they checked in online before me. I was told I would be seen at 9:30 been in the waiting room 45 mins now and still not been seen cause people supposedly check in before me. Why tell me 9:30 if I have to wait for all the people that are late that checked in before to be seen first?. All I am being seen for is a simple rash. I could have been in and out in 10 minutes. read more

Excellent facility which gives the patient to book a time online and get a call to tell the patient to come to the clinic within 30 minutes. This really minimizes waiting. I had wonderful care from Dr. Cassandra Sheppard for a bad case of bronchitis; she ordered X-rays and blood work to make sure it was nothing worse, then prescribed a cocktail of drugs that had knocked the bronchitis out faster than any previous case of bronchitis I've ever had - and I've had a great many. I have a great doctor in Plano but will not hesitate to return to Care Now in Allen if I need to on a weekend or after hours. I am impressed. read more

I was not satisfied with the staff or services provided. The doctor wanted to run un necessary tests, when really they should just send you to an emergency room instead of repeated visits to take your money. Not only that but they are under staffed. I checked in online only to be waiting for 4 hours for the service to be completed. It's a waste of your time & money. Another dilemma was the doctor not fully knowing what infection I had. I was amazed at the care I received from Care Now. I arrived at 9:50pm and was not expecting to be treated with that much respect, considering that the clinic would be closing in 10 minutes. Everyone that we met was kind, sincere, and patient. I didn't feel judged or rushed at all. Able to see doctor within 15 minutes and Dr. Sherryl Shipes was the nicest doctor I've ever met --and I work in health care. She listened to my complaints and validated how I was feeling. Everything about her expressed a sincerity that you do not often find with doctors. I appreciated her thoughtfulness in explaining everything in an easy to understand way and also making sure I didn't have any questions before leaving the room. She also involved my husband in the conversation and in showing him what was going on with me at the time. The nurse (can't remember her name :() was also very compassionate. Overall, I'd give this Care Now a 10/10. It was the perfect thing for someone feeling sick. read more

I've never had a problem with this place, until today. I've been here before and have had a good experience. But today, I brought in my 11 year old daughter who had symptoms of the flu. Coughing, fever, sore throat, etc. The nurse took a swab for a flu test and left. When the doctor, Dr Tara Bagen, arrived, she said my daughter tested positive for the flu. As a result she said she was going to just stay away from my daughter. She proceeded to not examine my daughter at all, and just sat far away across the room from my daughter and was speaking to me. I asked her if she could look at my daughter's throat because I was concerned she could have strep as well. She then said, oh ok, sure. She reluctantly looks at my daughter's throat, swabs her for a strep test and leaves. As I'm waiting for about 30 mins at this point after the strep swab, I am upset that Dr Tara Bagen didn't even check my daughter's lungs (because she's been coughing), or her ears. So I go and talk to the front desk, who then sends Dr Bagen back in to speak to me. I tell her that I am paying money for a doctor to examine my child. How can tell me that she's not going to get near my daughter for fear of getting sick? She quickly apologized and proceeded to listen to my daughter's lungs, and then starts walking away like she's done. And I say, what about her ears? And then so says, oh ok.. And then walks back to look at her ears. I was pretty appalled that a doctor at an urgent care, during flu season, has the nerve to say she is going to stay away from a patient for fear of being sick. If a doctor is afraid of examining a sick patient, then they shouldn't be in the profession. I hope this never happens again. I've seen other doctors here and have never had this kind of experience. I hope this doctor gets promptly corrected for her unprofessional behavior. This kind of unprofessional behavior reflects very poorly on this establishment. read more

Generally I have had good experiences with the nurses and doctors at this location and the wait time has never been bad here. I did have one occurrence of a rude call back from a nurse and one occasion of a doctor over prescribing a medication dosage (nothing serious or unsafe about the dosage - it just was unnecessarily high and a followup with my physician said the dosage could have been cut in half). Overall there is a good staff here at this location and I trust them. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I did the web check in and was told it would be 3.5 hours before I got a call. I got the call and showed up and the receptionist said it would be a minute. I waited an hour, and I went back up to check and she gave me a bunch of forms to fill out. The whole point of the web check in was to not have to wait once I got there. They need to not offer web check in if they can't attend to patients in a timely manner once they arrive. read more

I went to Allen Carenow Clinic because I had flu like symbtoms. I was diagnosed with flu and got prescribed medication. After taking the medication, i felf allergic and called Carenow for asking a Question "What to do, whether to stop the medication". I left a voicemail, talked to multiple front desk people to get answer for me by sending notes to Dr. But, they are always telling Dr is busy, Will call later. Nobody called. I stopped medication and trying to go and see other dr. Worst after care support.I will never go again. read more

Dr. Walton did not show any concern about my condition.When my mother had questions he completely ignored her and walked out of the room.Then the nurse came in and was huffing and puffing impatiently because she wanted me to hurry up and signed the papers. When I asked her to explain what is it she wanted me to signed she rudely said "your visit here". She was asked if she was in a hurry and she ignored us. The staff and doctor do not appear to care about my medical condition and do not have any sympathy and medical concerns for me or the other patients. This was my first and last time at this clinic. And I will recommend anybody that I know not to EVER go there. The staff is horrible very horrible! read more

Dr. Lovell and the staff at Allen CareNow were amazing when I sliced off the tip of my finger with a mandolin. My husband called to alert them we were on our way; they were ready and waiting as soon as I arrived and had me fixed up and out the door in less than 30 minutes. clinic nice and convenient. However followup care is terrible. I had some torn muscles in ribs from coughing so hard due to allergies. Did xray no broken ribs but it is very painful especially coughing or sneezing. Initial care they gave me anti inflammatory and some narco and told me rest and to come back for follow up in two weeks. After initial pain shot wore off it started hurting so I started using narco, however they only gave me twenty pills and I was out 6 days later. I called to get a refill and they said the won't give out more without a follow up visit (more $$$ for them I guess.) I asked what I should use instead and they said ask a pharmacist. Most doctors will give you enough meds to treat an injury and not need a follow up for you to tell them it hurt like crazy. Probably an ok place to go for a flu shot or strep throat, minor cuts but for anything more than that better to just go see a family doctor or specialist. read more
