Made appointment for 6:13 online. Filled out all forms and came in. You have to pay for your copay or any amount upfront before you're seen. Waiting for more than 45 mins. I have been to other ones. This is my second time visiting this place and I don't think I'll return. Not much service or care. This facility is new compared to other locations. Please be advised that the care may not be what you're expecting. Better to go to emergency room than coming to wait for a long time to be seen for your issues. Dr. Spent less than 5 minutes with me. My daughter, a teacher, came in for a flu and strep test. Bill mailed was over $700. We waited a while thinking that was without insurance's payment. Couple weeks later an amended bill was sent for a little over $500. We called CareNow inquiring why the bill was still so high. The billing person replied yes, that was still the amount owed after insurance paid. She also said my daughter was welcome to call BCBS to see why they didn't pay. So we did. Guess what? BCBS did pay and, furthermore, the highest CareNow was allowed to charge was $350 anyway. Wait, what? We did a three way call with CareNow and BCBS, where BCBS inquired about this outstanding bill after it was already paid. Lo and behold, the balance was all of a sudden $0 for my daughter's bill when 30 minutes before they were demanding over $500. For a flu test!!! I guess they are assuming people won't call insurance and will just pay a bill. That way they get paid twice. This is a business of scammers! I would steer clear of this business. read more

I've been coming to this CareNow for over 10 years, and they used to be so professional. The front desk women here, now, speak their minds as loudly as possible. Talk about providers, doctors and their schedules/being 'on call' for the entire lobby to hear. One of them was even like "I'm not trying to complain but". If you're going to vent, cool. But at least do it quietly. Before all of this, I walked in today and said hi in a cheery voice and gave them my name despite feeling sick, and not one of them looked at me or even said HELLO. Like what????? I stood there for a good 10 seconds in complete awkward silence literally AT the front desk. I verbatim state "Oooookay. Welp, this is awkward. Nobody's even going to say hi? Guess I missed the vibe check." They then, finally said--"sorry, my computer is down. Trying to figure out if she can take you (referring to her peer) That's totally fine, but verbally SAY something Then, the person (doctor/nurse) in grey scrubs grabbing patients. Man maybe in his early or late thirties with short black curly hair comes out into the lobby to grab patients with a blank stare and his arms crossed. Not approachable or enjoyable to be around at all. The lobby is warm as heck. Can only imagine the bacteria that's living in this office. I'm shocked it's as warm as it is. It's only 54 out, not 10 degrees. I understand this location has an influx of people with upper respiratory issues right now, but some sort of call to follow up even a week after would be nice. I came back TWO weeks after I was incorrectly diagnosed by the last doctor who saw me, when I should've been diagnosed with a sinus infection. I know my body. I get these every couple of years. There's no reason I should have chunky GREEN mucus I blow from my nose 20-30 times per day for two weeks, and be sent home with NO medication to get better. I took Sudafed for a week in & 1/2, then began taking Mucinex and still only temporarily (slightly) helps. Please do better. Please listen to your patients. I'm now having to spend another $50 for urgent care with my insurance because the original doctor that saw me isn't in office for follow-up. read more

I used this location's service on October 6th, 2024. I have visited before and have never had issues, until this visit. Problem #1: My pharmacy needed to speak with the prescribing doctor about a medication. They noted that the doctor never returned their call, so the prescription wasn't filled. Problem #2: They quickly pointed out that I hadn't met my deductible and charged me the deductible. I spent probably a few minutes more with the nurse than the doctor, but I'm okay with that as long as they resolve my health issues. Problem #3: Now that the visit is past, I am still waiting for this provider to file a claim with my insurance company. They have given me excuses such as "they didn't complete a step," and, my last name "was misspelled." It has been over a month and there is still no sign of them filing a claim with my insurance company. My son visited them the month prior and they filed his paperwork within the week he visited. Pretty bad that I've had to call their corporate office twice and have not gotten a resolution. At this point, if you can either wait for your own doctor's office to open or find a different urgent care to visit, that is what I would recommend. I will likely not use this location again, even though it's in my home city. read more

I came to visit, because I dislocated my pinky finger. There were about 4 people in front of me but I still got called back within 30 minutes. Front desk was super friendly & helpful towards my situation. Dr. Trung Nguyen was awesome. From the beginning, he was very informative and took a close look over my finger. He was explaining everything to me and was very kind about it also. I was in and out within an hour. Great staff, everyone was helpful and kind. read more

We took our young son to the Allen location on a Saturday before the Thanksgiving holiday week. We usually go to the Plano location, however on this day, our preferred location had a long wait, so we made the extra drive to be seen. The staff was very friendly, gave him an oral steroid and directed us to wait 72 hours and fill an Rx if needed, which they outlined in our after care instructions. Upon waiting the 72 hours, we went to the pharmacy and was told the Rx was never sent (even though our paperwork from Care Now clearly outlined the pharmacy that the Rx was sent to). The next day was Thanksgiving, so we waited and called Care Now the day after. The nurse who answered the phone told me I needed to come back to the office for them to confirm what was noted on the paperwork. I am not sure why they didn't have the paperwork in their system, since they printed it there and gave it to us. After getting my sick kiddo in the car and heading up there, I was told that they could not fill the Rx since it had been six days and that I would need to have another appointment ... But that would be a minimum of an hour wait. So, instead of being able to confirm these details over the phone, I had to drive my sick kiddo up to the office to be sent away again, with a coughing child and no medication. The staff was cold and uncaring to the situation and not at all apologetic for the inconvenience. Needless to say I will NOT be going back to this location and will also be contacting my insurance company so that they notate the poor service that their contracted provider is giving. I will also be calling back to speak with a manager (as I was told one was not available), so that they are aware of the incompetence of their office staff. read more

And they will REFUSE to prescribe you anything to get through this very real and scary illness. They will tell you to go to the ER if you're short of breath and feeling bad instead of prescribing basic asthma medications like albuterol and a nebulizer, and even a z pack. These people are not doing their jobs and people are suffering because of it. It's dangerous and irresponsible. Don't waste your money here... they will not help you. I love this place. I've had two employer drug tests here and the staff is extremely friendly and awesome. Kalen helped me today with an employer drug test and got me setup quickly and effectively. With everything going on with COVID, I can't imagine how stressful their jobs are but they were super polite and amazing. Thank you to the awesome staff that works here!!! read more

I checked in twice online, the first time I got confirmation messages with a link, but when I tried to open it, it took me nowhere. Then I waited for 2 hours, then I checked in online again, but I did t get any messages this time, so I call the clinic, they said they called me but went to voicemail, I checked my cell, and there's nothing. So I was asking if I can go right now, the front desk simply said: no, you have to check in again, and the wait time is about 2 hours. I can't wait that long because I need to pickup my kids. So I said: "nevemind. I guess I ll have to go somewhere else." The front desk said: "ok" the. She hung up my phone. Overall, seems like they don't care about you at all, it's all just commercial, and you are just a number. I ended up going to Urgent care on exchange pkwy. They took me in in 5 minutes. That's why over all, Carenow will loose their business for sure, and I won't recommend anybody to go there. read more

I am a registered nurse of 40+ years and in the insurance industry. Whenever I have an urgent care need that does not allow me to get into see my primary care physician, I go here. I have never seen the same doctor, P.A. Or nurse practitioner twice, which is fine, they have all been excellent. They are VERY cost-conscious and fully inform you of your choices. The only thing I wish they could do (which represents an additional administrative cost) is to send my PCP copies of my visit. That demonstrates excellent coordination of care and helps prevent me from having to request copies of my record to send. read more

Facility is clean and the rates are competitive, though high unless you have a nice insurance co-pay. The doctors are good doctors for a general practice and they can do X-rays and base consults in house. So why the low rating? My low rating is simple: You can schedule and check in online. They then call you to tell you to come in based on the time you scheduled it for, their availability, and your commute to the office - By itself this option should be a 4-5star when mapped to the care. However, for the 3rd time in less than 2 months myself and or kids have needed to go to the doctor. We check-in, get the call, and magically in the 15 minutes before our arrivals they automatically end up 60-90minutes behind. I understand wait times and unfortunately have come to expect it, but when they call and tell you it's your time and don't advise of the wait, that's a horrible experience that the quality of care can not overcome, especially when you a sick kid who was better of resting at home not sitting in a waiting room. Advice: Complete the online check-in, when they call, confirm the wait and then get their quick -before hell breaks loose. Then be prepared to wait. read more

I couldn't see my normal doctor as it is a Sunday, so I checked into Carenoe Allen online. I received a call 10 minutes later asking me what my concern was. I was advised to head to the location in 15 minutes. I arrived on time for my appt. That was at 10:15. I checked in at the front desk and was asked to have a seat I would be called in shortly. I waited in the lobby for over an hour before I was taken to a room in the back to meet with an assistant who took my vitals. I am still in the room at 12:10 and no doctor has come in. I understand things are busy, but why ask me to come in when no one was available to see me when I arrived? A 2+ hour wait is not acceptable. read more

Beware of this place!!! I went in with an extremely high blood pressure reading and checked in at the front desk. After a few minutes I was sent at the back, where my blood pressure was checked and I was told it was very high and they could NOT treat me there, that they do not have the necessary equipment and I needed to go to the ER. Before leaving we confirmed with Sarah Vetter and Karin Langford that we will not be charged for this visit. Few weeks later I get a bill - for a headache visit!! I called their billing dept and the facility several times to settle the fact that I should not be charged, since I should have been told upfront that they can't/don't treat my condition. And they can't charge me for a headache because that is NOT what I went there for. And the 2 ladies confirmed that I won't be charged. The office person would not listen and threatened me with sending the bill for collection. She said that both the ladies who confirmed that I won't be charged don't work there anymore. I have never been able to reach the office manager, inspite of several calls and messages. Now I have a letter from a collection agency and it is under dispute/review. Next, I am going to file a complaint of fraud/cheating against them with the medical authorities. read more

I visited the office in Allen on McDermott today. The name is "Urgent Care", but this place is the complete opposite. I registered online for an early appointment before they opened, still couldn't be seen until 11:30. The doctor was Asian, which meant there was somewhat of a language barrier, all the while being sorta rushed. All in all, I should have followed my instincts and went through the regular emergency room, because what that doctor did, I could have done myself. Clinic is clean and features plentiful seating and movies on flat screen TVs in the waiting room. A selection of Bigalow teas and hot and cold water are available, as well as coffee. Exam rooms are clean and well lit, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The web check-in is fantastic, no (well, LESS) waiting in the waiting room. Overall, a good place for common, non-emergency issues. read more

I walked in on Sunday the 3rd of October 2021, at 3:00pm, after having tried online check in that wasn't available. I had a suspected broken ankle. I was informed that there was a 2-3 hour wait, and they probably wouldn't get to me as they closed in 2 hours. Incredulous, I opted for Allen Presbyterian, where I was seen and X-rayed in under 20 minutes. I did in fact have a lateral malleolus fracture of my left ankle. I don't know if Care Now has rules about seeing patients, but it seems to me if you walk into their business before closing time, you should be seen. The receptionist looked bored and uninterested in helping me. I will not be "bothering" them again. read more

Went and got a COVID test for my employer and was told that I'll get a phone call with my results in 3-7 days. It's been 8 days and no results even though other co workers that tested a day after me already got results. Been trying to call today and line to the operator does not work. Called once 3 days after exam and they told me to wait although one of my coworkers called and got their results when requested. Had to go get a rapid test in Dallas for results since time was running out for my employer. read more

Love the ability to pre-register and wait at home to be called! This is definitely much better than sitting at the CareNow, but even after I arrived when they called they had a surprisingly comfortable waiting room with movies playing on the TVs to entertain you. I didn't even have time to get into the movie though before I was called back. Really nice nursing staff, great doctor, and they correctly diagnosed me and got me all fixed up with very little expense! I will definitely be back if I ever need care quickly! read more

I called CareNow in Allen to see about going in immediately. I had sliced my finger pretty good with a while cutting fruit with a new knife. I was in the middle of telling the woman who answered the phone that I was bleeding pretty badly when she cut me off mid-sentence to tell me there was over an hour wait and that I needed to hang up and check in online. I was in disbelief. I was bleeding pretty badly and didn't see how I could wait an hour, just to wait for a call. I then called the Plano location and immediately the person on the other line told me to come in. I was told there was no need for checking in and that I needed to go into triage. They stitched me up with six stitches. I would advice to better train your staff. Never going back there again. read more

They require patients to register online which I did at 6:11 pm. They sent me home to wait for a call. The called me back at 7:25 asking that I return because they were ready. It's 9:13 pm and I am still waiting to see a doctor in a lot of pain. Their explanation: we only have one doctor and one nurse. Somebody need to do a better job at staff planning. This clinic makes good use of the online check-in. We get in, we have a short wait, we see the doctor, we are on our way. The staff is friendly and seem to like their jobs. I've been here twice in two months, both times on a Monday, and I've seen two different doctors. They both treated me with respect (something you need when you've taken an embarrassing fall) and empathy. Their treatment plans have been on point and as good as any other GP I've seen locally. This urgent care could be worse, but it's far from decent or good. The waiting room/front staff is pretty bad. They are monotoned and soft spoken, so it's difficult to understand or hear them. Especially through a mask. They speak like they don't care about anything. They cannot multi task or triage tasks. One lady spent 30 min talking to a patient about insurance and billing with 4 people waiting in line to check in. That was pretty unnecessary. It could have waited or she should have called her own insurance to figure out coverage. I was sent through my job for a tb test and checked in online for a specific time. They only have an NP I have seen here, no MD. Not sure about laws on that, but he was overextended and chose longer tedious tasks over something quicker or simpler to get done with and get people out. The front staff spent more time chit chatting then trying to get the patients in and out like urgent cares should be. It was annoying. $40 for a tb test at the cvs minute clinic and that's where I'll go next time. read more
