    Let me start by saying that my family has been a Carella's customer for over 30 years. Carella's was the only shoe store my three kids were taken to get their footware. In addition, I would take my mom there during her later years in life since she had diabetic neuropathy. However, I recently purchased a $140 pair of Rockports since I do a fair amount of standing at my job. Rockports are one of the few brands I feel comfortable in since I have flat feet. In less than 30 days, the Rockports for some reason are falling apart at the tip of the shoe and are fading in color. Note that I work inside and do not wear them 7 days a week. I recently went to see if I can return them and get another pair. My thought is that this never occurred with any of my other Rockports and maybe I purchased a lemon. It happens with cars, why not shoes. I was not given that option by the owner of the store. He offered other shoes, but as I stated, Rockports make my feet feel more comfortable then other brands. To make matters worse, I was treated rudely by the manager and he insinuated that I was a liar and a cheat. He thought I would bring them back every month for a new replacement. He didn't believe the current shoes I had on were 5 years old and in better shape than the current Rockports. I wish I had those 30 years back. The amount of money I spent in that store over 30 years and to be treated that way really turned me off. They will no longer get another dime. So think about this for the future. Hope you don't buy a lemon because you'll get a sour attitude when you try to return them. See the attached photo. That's approximately one month.

I was waiting for someone from Caleres, Inc. to contact me to inform me what steps have they taken to make sure this horrific and racist incident does not happen again. Unfortunately, Kristen was not helpful or was she receptive of the situation I had to explain again. She was combative when I asked her, " how would you feel if someone called you a racial slur" , she then said to me, " Don't come at me, you don't know me", very aggressively. I asked her what resolution have you come up with, she said " I was just told to call you to let you know that we are aware of this", this compliant went to the BBB on 10/16/2021, she calls me today 11/10/2021 and says she doesn't know what I want. She told me in a very threatening manner to not yell, I told this woman, This is how I speak, If I wanted to scream or yell she would have known it. I don't like that immediately she makes the assumption because I am a woman of color I am causing drama, yelling like an animal!, her superiority complex showed so very clearly. I am not satisfied with the response, and please IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR, DO NOT SHOP HERE, THEY TREAT US LIKE SECOND CLASS CITIZEN, not even their District Manager understands the complexity of this very ugly and traumatizing situation, did I mention my minor children were with me, when their sales rep, called me such an awful racial slur that I will not post here, but you can just about imagine.     Today, I did not think much of this cashier who worked at the Princeton, NJ Target store. She…read morehardly wanted to help me much with getting a price off an item. When I asked her to take the item back to the shelf to get the actual price, she did not initially want to even bring the item with her. When I finally found the price tag had stuck to my purse while this cashier was away in the aisles looking for my price, she came back with the incorrect price $45 ($15 more than my item). When I gave the price tag to her, then right in front of herself and her register, she read my item now being $30, which I told her, that was the price, I saw and another Target staff told me. This cashier did not apologize that she was wrong. Or even just to apologize for her mistake at all. I did not think much of her serving the public.

    I received an email indicating that my item shipped with FedEx, however, there was no tracking…read morenumber. I had to call the help line to find out the tracking number. In doing so, I had to speak to someone in another country that I could barely understand. This is "AMERICA." Okay, to make a long story short this is my first and last time that I will have my order delivered from Target. If I can't pick it up at the store, I will not be ordering any items. Virtual Assistant is horrible & will never replace man. No matter how much money you try to save by using virtual assistance to replace people it will eventually fail.

Boy, do I feel like an oaf - especially when crossing the transom into the Museum of Footwear Science and Sneakerism at the New Balance store on the strip mall outskirts of Princeton. Initially drawn in by the the promise that this well regarded enthusiast brand is made in the USA (truth... some are but the vast majority are made in China) these in-store Sherpas really know their stuff measuring feet and recommending the perfect pair to send me cruising to nowhere on my recumbent bike or just goofing off with my newly fitted techno-toes propped up a table watching actual athletes doing their thing. Five stars for a store that still believes product knowledge and customer service matter. That's more than I ever got from Stan Smith.
