I've been scammed before ordering shoes online so I was a bit nervous placing an order. My running shoes fit perfectly but have been discontinued. Carella's showed they had them in stock, I was leery because I spent hours searching online and no one else had them in stock, I couldn't even find them on EBay. I love the chat option on their website. Not only did they respond immediately when I asked to confirm they were in stock, they also sent me a photo of the box showing the size and color. This put my mind at ease for ordering online. Shipping was fast and the shoes were exactly what I was looking for. read more

Let me start by saying that my family has been a Carella's customer for over 30 years. Carella's was the only shoe store my three kids were taken to get their footware. In addition, I would take my mom there during her later years in life since she had diabetic neuropathy. However, I recently purchased a $140 pair of Rockports since I do a fair amount of standing at my job. Rockports are one of the few brands I feel comfortable in since I have flat feet. In less than 30 days, the Rockports for some reason are falling apart at the tip of the shoe and are fading in color. Note that I work inside and do not wear them 7 days a week. I recently went to see if I can return them and get another pair. My thought is that this never occurred with any of my other Rockports and maybe I purchased a lemon. It happens with cars, why not shoes. I was not given that option by the owner of the store. He offered other shoes, but as I stated, Rockports make my feet feel more comfortable then other brands. To make matters worse, I was treated rudely by the manager and he insinuated that I was a liar and a cheat. He thought I would bring them back every month for a new replacement. He didn't believe the current shoes I had on were 5 years old and in better shape than the current Rockports. I wish I had those 30 years back. The amount of money I spent in that store over 30 years and to be treated that way really turned me off. They will no longer get another dime. So think about this for the future. Hope you don't buy a lemon because you'll get a sour attitude when you try to return them. See the attached photo. That's approximately one month. read more

I ordered some Pink Ugg slippers for my daughter online on Friday morning. I literally received them by Saturday Afternoon! I got an update every step of the way and the shoes were authentic. New and in excellent condition upon delivery. It was so fast I am astounded. She absolutely loved her slippers and honestly I'm grateful. She really wanted these in carnation pink but everywhere else had sold out in her size. Seriously, they're a lifesaver! I'm excited to order other shoes from them. I'm beyond impressed with the speedy and professional service. read more

Just wanted to say that I had such a fantastic experience getting a Christmas gift from Carella's shoes! I ordered the hard to find gift from 3 other stores online only to be notified 3-4 days later that they were out of stock and my order was cancelled! Found them online at Carella's, called the store, got a HUMAN, and he was able to confirm that the did have them in stock and put them in the mail the same day. Had done the same with another store and it had cancelled. Was great to deal with someone who took the time to check their stock and not to waste my time. Would highly recommend this store!, read more

I have never had such a wonderful experience shopping for shoes. This is a family owned and operated establishment and their attention to customer service shows-I've been often enough and have been waited on by several people so I know that I didn't just go on a good day and got great service because each and every time I have received 5 star service from the friendly banter and conversation to the custom fit to the patience while they retrieve selection after selection they really are great people selling quality brands. read more

Great gem for buying shoes in Hamilton. This independent shoe store has great service and a pretty good selection. The prices are equivalent to what you will find online, but with personal service. The salesman was patient and attentive to my children. There's no reason to shop online for sneakers for your kids or yourself when can go to Carella's shoes for the same price but actually get to try them on. read more

Carella's shoes saved Christmas at my house! I was looking for the cow print Ugg Tasman slippers for a gift for my boyfriend, and EVERYWHERE was sold out of the size I needed (and I do mean everywhere--both in store and online). I stumbled upon Carella's Shoes' facebook listing for the shoes I was looking for, and was delighted to find out that they had the size I needed in stock! I swiftly ordered them online, only to immediately realize that I had selected the wrong size when I placed my order. I immediately called the store and asked if they could update my order to reflect the correct size, and the man I spoke with was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. He updated my order to reflect the correct size. The best part? They shipped out my shoes the day I ordered them, and they arrived to me just 23 hours later! Though I don't live in the area, I will definitely be ordering online from them in the future. They've got a wide selection of shoes, fast shipping, and excellent customer service. read more

I placed an order and received my order within the next week that I placed it. Unfortunately, the size I ordered was too small, so I contacted the shop to start processing a refund. I reached out to the shop at least 5 times, waiting for a response that never came. I finally received a response 13 days after I originally placed my order. Keep in mind, the refund policy is 14 days. The owner asked me to ship out the box immediately to receive the refund, without even providing a return label. I had to pay for the return label myself, which totaled out to over $30. After returning it, I finally got my refund processed, only to find out that it was only partially refunded to cover only just the product, and not the original shipping cost. Not once did someone mention that I would not get fully refunded for the entire amount that I spent. Having to cover the cost for the return label AND the original shipping on the order totals out to over $50, which was literally half of the amount I got refunded. Essentially I lost money just trying to return an order that simply did not fit. Worst experience I've had with a small business. Never ordering from this shop again. read more

The ONLY place I will take our kiddos for shoes. Staff so nice and experts! Have two children and a young lady with wide feet. Always good selection and fit is always perfect! read more

Needed to get my 1 year old shoes! No other stores in the area have that shoe sizer so you can properly get a good fitting shoe for your kid. The staff there is so nice and helpful to getting a good fit for my child. Very friendly to him too even though he was running around the store. Shoes are expensive $50 for my little guys pair but service was worth it. read more

This store does not care about customers . When waiting on elderly or children they are not wearing masks. Do they realize some of their customers are not able to be vaccinated because of their age? Go elsewhere if you want to find considerate and kind people. It would be nice to patronize a small business but NOT THIS ONE !!! read more

After 2 generations of buying quality shoes for the kids in our families, my husband and I were just there buying sneakers and the experience is as it has always been. Professional and satisfying. The Carella family is the best. read more

Awesome and cute business. It was slightly busy when I showed up with my boyfriend but within 5 minutes we were being helped by the sweetest guy. We stopped here while our car was being serviced at Hamilton Honda. With time to spare we found this spot on google and I'm sure glad we did. They were incredibly helpful, nice and welcoming. They paid close attention to my son who's not even 2 years old and doesn't sit still. They did a great job and we left with a new pair of shoes. My son hasn't stopped running since! I highly recommend them and will be returning. read more

I've passed Carellas Shoes many times through my life and always assumed it was a dying shoe store that catered to a aging clientele or an overly expensive shoe store because it wasn't a chain. Boy I'm sorry to say how wrong I was and disappointed I didn't go there earlier. I now have a child and a friend suggested Carellas. I was a little surprised and still unsure but I figured why not. I can always walk out. First off the store is very clean and organized and has all the popular high quality brands you find everywhere else, so my notion of it being for old people was wrong. So it must be that it's super expensive, wrong again! Prices were exactly the same as Stride Rite store and New Balance Store if not a few bucks cheaper. Granted these aren't cheap brands for children and I didn't look carefully at all the brands so there may be cheaper style shoes there as well, I simply didn't look because i specifically needed high quality shoes this time around. So with all my preconceived ideas proved wrong I was happy to shop there. Here is the thing though, the customer service was outstanding! I think I've gotten complacent with mediocre service becauseit is everywhere nowadays so it was refreshing to have someone who was knowledgable, kind to my son, helpful and patient all with a smile. If the shoes were more expensive then other stores I'd probably still shop here for the simple fact that the customer service was that good. I will continue to shop there for my son and will probably go there for myself for my next pair of sneakers. read more

I have been a customer for the past 15+ yrs, since moving to the Hamilton area. While our family's needs have changed over the years (children no longer in that stride rite mode for several yrs), what hasn't changed is our need for good, quality shoes. We could go elsewhere for the same item but their staff is the BEST !! If they don't have the size, they order it. If it's a questionable fit, they tell it like it is. They also offer shoe repair and they're never short on customer service. It's truly a pleasure to shop there and give them our business :- ) read more

for well over 2 months we had been looking in vain for an " old fashioned shoe store " and thankfully we happened onto Carella's in Mercerville, NJ. We had been to center city philadelphia, new hope, flemington nj, and even princeton nj and no luck. When i went into Carella's they offered a wide range of shoes and at various price points, from inexpensive to high line expensive brands. I was looking for a closed back clog and they had the Milan Side zip slip-on by Spring Step and they were perfect. The level of professionalism was outstanding, measured my feet and did things once the right way and in todays fast paced world to find a store that does exactly what a customer wants even went on line to see what other models were available but the Spring Steps were it, hands down. Now when we all need shoes we will venture from levittown, pa to Carella's because you support a business that does all the right things, and no pressure tactics read more

I visited Carella's for the first time today with my 2.5 year old daughter and 10 month old son. Tom helped us out and was wonderful! He was so calm and the whole process went very smoothly. We got several pairs of shoes including my son's first pair. We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend. read more
