Synergy immediately latched on to the reservation and said they would staff it, so the agency booked them - nearly a month in advance of the start date. I was given continual assurances by Synergy that they were fully prepared to provide a home health aide for a period of 18 days while my grandfather's live-in caregiver was away. Just two days before my grandfather's live-in was going on leave, I found out through a system-generated cancellation via email that Synergy backed out. I started calling and Synergy ghosted me - first no response from Janet who had been VERY eager to take the assignment and had many emails and phone calls. Then, I finally got hold of the owner, Casey, on Oct 11 who was full of excuses, but promising to call me back the next day with any potential options which I waited for since we had nowhere to turn given Synergy's unprofessional, lack of care and notification. Casey, the franchise owner, never followed-up on his promise to call me back. My family is left with no help for a 100-year-old man who served his country for years. I would have been better off if I had never heard of Synergy, as given the 1-month lead time I would have found a caregiver myself. I would 100% choose a different home health provider since anyone in need of these services knows you need to partner with a company that is reliable, trustworthy and communicative.

I don't live in NJ, but my brother and his wife do. They met with Dolores, the owner, at my mother's home and assessed her needs. Within a week, my mother was paired with a woman named Joan. My mother liked her a lot; they have gotten along very well. First Joan came only once per week for a few hours to help my mother with errands or take her to appointments. Eventually she came twice a week. My mother is moving out of state to NY (to be closer to my brother, who is also moving). Joan has been helping my mother to go through her closets and drawers to consolidate her stuff before the move. Overall, it has been a very positive experience for our family. I'm in California so it's not like I can drop everything and come to NJ to help my mother on a constant basis. My brother and his wife are busy with their own stuff.
