The staff was incredibly welcoming and the culture of family permeated throughout his time there. Administration was always available for any needs that arose in everyday living, insurance needs, and always welcomed feedback. And the attention to detailed execution of COVID protocols was so reassuring to family members. The medical staff is extraordinary in terms of medical knowledge and treatment, as well as providing a level of emotional support that makes a resident feel truly valued. The team is always upbeat and positive, which makes a huge difference day-to-day. Dad LOVED the food at Brandywine. He ate three meals each and every day and the diversity of options and quality of the ingredients and preparation were at a level of virtually any restaurant. The social activities available at Brandywine provide entry points for anyone's interests and level of desired engagement. From exercise to movies to card games to trips, all of these activities build a wonderful community. And in dad's final weeks, the sensitivity and treatment were filled with love and compassion. Dad truly passed away "at home." Mitch K.

The Wonderful Residents, and The Entire Community of The Cliffs At Eagle Rock ... I wanted to take a moment to thank you for Blessing my Dad during the last Chapter of his life. Like many elderly folks I suspect, my dad didn't want to leave his home. He decided to give your Community a try because the isolation, boredom and loneliness brought on by Covid was very hard for him. He was beginning to decline and get depressed. Three days after dad moved into The Cliffs though, he began telling jokes again. His usual happy demeanor returned. He was participating and enjoying all of the activities, but mostly he began to fall in love with a place filled with warm and welcoming people. Within two weeks he asked me to sell the house he had lived in for 50 plus years. He didn't even feel the need to return to it. He said he "was happier than he ever imagined he could be, with his new home and family." I will never find the words to adequately express what that meant to me as a daughter... My dad passed away peacefully last month. He had lost his ability to speak. He slept almost all of the time. And yet, whenever someone entered the room he opened his eyes and greeted them with a huge joy filled smile. He did that until the very end. You all gave him that. The unbelievably dedicated Caregivers kept him comfortable and happy during his time with you... The amazing residents laughed with him when he told his jokes and said hello to him as they passed him in the halls. Others prayed with him. Some of you didn't even speak, but patted him on the arm knowingly while he slept in the Great Room. I don't think I will ever stop missing the man that I loved so deeply all of my life. A man whose happiness I wanted to assure until he took his very last breath. With that, I will always be thankful for the small part I played in finding your "Village"... This very special place, for him to spend the end of his life's journey feeling loved. With that, I will always be grateful to God, and I will always be grateful to you. Thank you for Blessing my beloved father, and Thank you for Blessing me.

It is a lovely facility; the grounds are spacious with walking paths, two gazebos, a patio, and a courtyard. The main floor has small cozy seating areas off the great room (which is lovely for visiting), a library, activities room, and a media room with the TV (most facilities we visited had a TV on all day on the first floor.) Their "beverage and snacks area" is actually a small dining area and kitchen, which was also terrific when we visited. Activities my mother enjoyed: performers who came a few times a week (especially singalongs); Ted Talk and discussion groups; arts & crafts; and physical therapy (because it was in a very nice room with floor to ceiling windows with a nice outside view). And we all loved the holiday "events", especially at Christmas. I highly recommend The Cliffs at Eagle Rock.

We were excited to visit her and see where she was living now. And to our pleasant surprise, we found CM to be a beautiful retirement village that catered so well to our Aunt's needs. My Aunt's apartment was so cozy and perfect for her, and what an amazing view she has from her balcony. You're literally looking into a forest of beautiful trees, especially now during the Fall season. And nearby, is another gorgeous view. My sister and I had the privilege of staying in an apartment right on the grounds of CM for guests to those who live there. How convenient that was for all of us. We were impressed with all the staff that my Aunt introduced us to. They were so friendly, attentive and all with a smile. We ate in the formal dining hall once for dinner, and it was so delicious. And we also had lunch one day in the Cafe, which was equally as good. My Aunt is 88 (soon to be 89) years old, but still has a lot of "kick and bounce" in her. And we're so happy she chose CM as her retirement home. We feel she's well taken care of, safe and has everything she needs right there. So thank you, CM, for a wonderful vacation you provided my sister and me. We're looking forward to coming back for another visit next year. And thank you for taking such good care of our Auntie Elaine, too! =)

I waited to write this review so I would be able to reflect more clearly on the experience. Mostly, my father's and my family's time there was not very positive. I am leaving the two stars for those staff members that did treat my father with kindness, compassion and understanding. We decided to put my father on hospice so we could access more daily care and less medical testing ect. However, what we observed is less concern, less care and less compassion. My father's care was not easy as he had little mobility and dementia/delirium the last few weeks was significant. Hospice did provide pharmacological intervention but did not provide much support or communication with the family. Fortunately, my family was able to spend every day with him and provide him with the support required to make him as comfortable as possible. The most disturbing was that my father was placed at the end of the hall and after this daily visit once per shift by the nurse, there was no check- ins by the aides other than the alert bell that he could ring. The thing is when we rang, it was longer then 10 to 15 minutes before anyone would show up and at times it could be 30 to 40 minutes. No aide was stationed outside in the hall, so I spent much of my time searching for help. There were four occasions, I found them on their cell phones in empty rooms. Rarely, did not see supervisors on the floor making periodic checks on both him and staff. Basically, any assistance received other than the bare minimum, was mostly reactive not proactive. I would like to thank the nurse that did sit with him a few times during the end as his anxiety was severe and also the staff members that alerted me when his needs not being met. In the end, an aide assigned to my dad daily was treating me harshly, that I hired a private aide to stay with my father so that I could take a break from what appeared to be passive aggressive cruelty. This aide refused my father his last cup of coffee on his last day telling him the kitchen was closed, as my brother showed up and retrieved a cup in that kitchen. Previously, I did ask supervisor to speak to her but was told, that it was happening. I often wonder how she treated him while I was not present as he was somewhat helpless. Unfortunately, taking care of both my parents, I witnessed other facilities, and it is my opinion as a society, we must do better with the elderly. Working with the elderly and health care is a very difficult job. Owners and administrators must do better providing a caring emotionally and monetary rewarding environment for their staff. The response to these reviews asks the writer to call and discuss. Again, reactive, so I will offer my further input only if it is a proactive response.

I don't live in NJ, but my brother and his wife do. They met with Dolores, the owner, at my mother's home and assessed her needs. Within a week, my mother was paired with a woman named Joan. My mother liked her a lot; they have gotten along very well. First Joan came only once per week for a few hours to help my mother with errands or take her to appointments. Eventually she came twice a week. My mother is moving out of state to NY (to be closer to my brother, who is also moving). Joan has been helping my mother to go through her closets and drawers to consolidate her stuff before the move. Overall, it has been a very positive experience for our family. I'm in California so it's not like I can drop everything and come to NJ to help my mother on a constant basis. My brother and his wife are busy with their own stuff. It was wonderful to know that my mother could rely on Joan to help out. I would definitely recommend Seniors Helping Seniors. Thank you, Dolores and Joan!!!!

I have to say I am saddened to see so many poor reviews of this place . My parent has been here for…read moresome time now (( few years )) She is well cared for at all times . The facility is clean , staff is friendly and the dr's are good . I can't give a 5 star because no nursing home ,no matter where you go to is going to be perfect . I would prefer to have my mom home with me and to do my own care giving to her like I did before we had to place her in a nursing home . But knowing I can't care for needs now I couldn't be more pleased with the care they do give her . If I have questions , concerns , they always answer my family's along with my own concerns and questions in a timely matter . No matter where you go these days to put your loved one in the care of a nursing home , you will always always find wrongs , complaints , issues of some sort . It is so important to know families always needs to be involved in the care of the patient and loved one . And in most cases need to play a hands on role in caring if at home or in a hospital or nursing home . Yes you can hire an aid to help with this . I have an aid but I still do the care along with the aid &always make it a point to go at different times along with my family . My only complaint I can really have is the food . Not the greatest but not the worst. Could use improvement. All nursing homes no matter if state funded or privately funded . All have staffing issues , most times more patients come in and not enough staff . Not really the nursing homes fault . More that there is not enough facilities to offer care for loved ones these days , mainly due to the extreme high cost to run them in NJ . I must say give this place a try . Me and my family are very pleased with the care that our loved one is getting . They made this very hard transition easier for the patient and the family with there compassion and respect . Couldn't of handled it with out the help of daughters of Israel. Thank you for all you do .

When my mom arrived at of Israel, she was maneuvering herself, eating and drinking. She was totally coherent and communicative! The misdiagnosis and inability to properly care for my beautiful mother, was the beginning of her demise From the moment my mother arrived at this facility, the disrespect began. The nurses and the assistance had an FU attitude, no matter what I said, suggested or asked. All bit one or two staff exhibited that disrespectful smirk on their faces, when I tried to share information or share facts! Not only did these incompetent group of so-called nurses and aides disrespect me and my knowledge and experience of my 103 yr old mom, my mom begged me to get her out of there, stating how disrespected she felt, numerous times a day! I met my mom at the facility on the day she arrived. I found her lying flat on her bed, stark naked, shivering, as they performed a body assessment. My 70 lb, 103 yr old mother was freezing, and they just kept walking in and out of the room leaving her naked and shivering and begging for a bed pan!!! Not once, did they bother to cover her!! They kept telling her she had to wait for her aide to get her bed pan!! She began crying! She said "I've been waiting so long"!!! it was clear no paid any attention to her. I wanted to know where the bed was so I could help her myself, but I was told she had to wait for her aide! That is disrespectful, despicable, disgusting!! I just kept telling her to pee in the bed mom, just pee in the bed. Finally, about 10 minutes passed and an Aid walked in, stuck a bed pan under my mom, while she was lying flat, naked, and shivering, then turned to walk out of the room ! I stopped her and asked why she wasn't sitting her up!! This miserable person said nothing, just went back to raise her head!! At that moment, I should've called 911 and had my mom removed from this facility!! A swallow test was performed by a speech therapist, who knew absolutely nothing about my mother's past, never bothered to call and ask me, and did not receive approval from me to deny her drinking from a straw! I am mother's medical . Any medical decisions made must be approved by me. No one at this facility could have cared less, to run anything by me. The swallow test was performed.without using barium. They did the swallow test in the most unprofessional manner possible. This idiot decided that my mother was choke risk And refused to allow her to drink from a straw. the beginning of the end for my mother. I fought this decision! My mother was not able to drink from a cup. I was watching her get weaker and weaker by the day! I was told if I allowed her to use a straw, I would be asked to leave the facility! Finally on day four of my Mother's stay, a PA arrived and determined that I was completely correct. The staff was ordered to discontinue the previous orders allowing my mother to absolutely drink from a straw. by this time, my mother was so weak and dehydrated. She didn't have the energy to drink anything! On the morning of day five I called the facilityto find out how my mother was. Someone answered. "great"! How could my mother possibly be great past four days I watched her failing? I jumped in my car and drove to the facility. I discovered my mother sitting at the nurses station, slumped over in a wheelchair, shivering! And this is what these despicable people considered great! At that moment, I demanded they call 911 and transfer her back to the hospital! When my mom arrived at the hospital, her body temperature was very low. Explaining why she was shivering constantly at this facility. She spent days. under a warming blanket. She had a severe UTI and her iron was dangerously low. My amazing, beautiful mother, passed away October 1. I called the assistant director asking for my mom's medical records. She stalled for days insisting she didn't have my email address. I sent my Email on my first request. She continued to insist she didn't have it when in fact, the Director of Admissions had my emailed. She sent email numerous times! Here's the kicker... When I finally received the paperwork, I had to sign in order to release my mother's medical records, they wanted $25 to do so. I told them I would not give them five cents for this horrific lack of care and experience! I guess they'll have to release her records, when they hear from my attorney! Not once did these animals say they were sorry or even acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, their lack of care, their incompetence, they are disrespect jeopardized my mother's life! I didn't even receive, I'm sorry for your loss!! What I've shared is only the tip of the iceberg! Please carefully choose a facility for your loved one.
