They provide a little notebook and ask that you write your name, the date, what you bought and the total of the purchase. I think that's smart, and I'm happy to oblige. The line up is an eclectic mix of Maine products and vendors. Whether you need a sweater (or her lamb), specialty vinegars (and recipes), or any other delicious housewarming or holiday present, the market offers a diverse array of products besides the organic produce and other goodies. We like providing them to our VRBO guests too. We do wish they would move Hootenanny's Bread to the south end of the market near Dharma Farms and Kelly Bros beef-- it would reduce the congestion from the long lines and make the "main street" of the market more enjoyable. The market moves indoors with fewer vendors in November-- being in the historic freight shed is a little more crowded but also cozy as the winter months progress. And our freezer is never without a Mainely Poultry pot pie or two, some haddock "burgers", or a Chase Farms apple pie. It's our kids (and their kids) favorite activity when they visit.

Baked goods from local folks, cookies, Whoopie pies, sourdough bread. Local meat, cheese and milk. And the very best part? MOSES DYER COFFEE. Roasted right in Harpswell. They are the best coffee, and that's that!

Brunswick's Saturday winter market is so popular. The wide variety of vendors is impressive. Shoppers peruse the aisles of vendors and usually see a familiar face or two. The energy is joyful and vibrant. There usually is someone playing music to add to the atmosphere. Vendors are always happy to answer questions. The parking outside tends to be crowded so if you don't mind walking, there are nearby public parking spots/lots in Maine St. The entrance is in the corner/center of the mill (flea market on the left side of the building and Dutchman's Bagels on the right). Once in the building, the market is to the right. There is an info table upon entering. You can purchase Bumper Crop coupons for 5$ a piece, that can be used at most, if not all, booths. It is so important to support our local farmers and crafters.

The store is small but has a ton of veggies, fruits and baked items. They also make sandwiches - we had a BLT on the most delicious bread made to order. So good! They also have a bathroom (if you've been on the road awhile this is always a great find). The prices were really good. Huge pumpkins for $6 (wish we'd bought one) and we got a bunch of items including cucumbers, the sandwich and chips for under $20. The woman working there was super nice. She even gave us some lemon grass to dry and use in a tea. I wish this were closer to home as their meat selection looked fantastic but we couldn't buy meat mid-way through a vacation hours from home. Definitely next time though!

What was really amazing to me was the section of awards, and photos of people who had been in the military. I think it's a shame that they don't have a owner, or a family member to go to. Normally in stores like this, you can't help but to smell someone weird through the air. Maybe the combination of old things from all the homes. However, this doesn't happen in this place.
