Nothing was communicated as to what is going on or how much longer it would be. I'm not too sure if this is an everyday practice or if this is the way it just because it is just so busy. I am hoping it is the latter of the two. I am shocked because I come from a medical background. This office has no structure or organizational protocol to which the staff operates.

They seemed to have a good relationship with each other. Located at Pali Momi Medical Center, Dr. Chang's office was clean and spacious! The staff were very friendly and efficient! The EEG test took about half an hour in one room. We waited in for a bit, had vital signs measured, went to an exam room, then Dr. Chang explained the results. She was assessing me for varicose veins! I didn't think I had "diseased veins" because they weren't bulging out of my calves. However, using an ultrasound machine, the width of the veins can be measured. If the veins are too wide, the valves are unable to pump the blood back up to the heart from the lower extremities. I went to Nurse Joan's office in Waipahu. She works with Doctor Danelo Canete at the Hawaii Vein Center. It's a clean, tidy clinic with free parking in the front. I like the cute decor in the waiting area and the convenient water dispenser...Haha! The ultrasound technician was very professional and knowledgeable. He told me that the veins in question are superficial and other veins can be used in the future if needed for heart bypass. So, if we close off the diseased veins, other veins can take over...no problem. Hmmm...I'm still thinking about this procedure. If I do it now, I can prevent bulging veins, have less cramping, and feel more energetic. I didn't realize that my legs were tired due to varicose veins. I thought I was just walking and standing too much! LOL! I'll be back for further assessment!

He identified the culprit as her current high blood pressure medication and changed it immediately. After that, my mom condition improved 100% and she was back doing her daily tasks. He had her do other tests and found she may have attr-cm, but needed a heart biopsy to confirm. He performed the heart biopsy and pathologist did confirm she had the protein in her heart muscle that causes ATTR_CM, something that her former cardiologist did not catch. He then had his staff coordinate the process to have her on Attruby medication. Dr. Banerjee is a true professional, experienced, keeps up with latest medical technologies and pharmaceutical advancements, caring, easy to talk to...we are very fortunate to have him as a cardiologist.
