So there I was, almost settling for a 'meh' mortgage deal--$400K, 20% down, and a steep 7.45% interest rate. I decided to have a second opinion and Found Moreira Team with so many great reviews, so I decided to contact them. Enter Lucky, my mortgage matchmaker. Within half an hour (no joke!), he rang me back with a deal that had my jaw dropping: $470K approved, just 3.5% down, and a 6.75% interest rate! But wait, there's more: The team had a cherry on top: They referred me to a superb Realtor named Catherine, who gave me a grand tour of Georgia homes. From there, Taylor and Amanda whisked through the paperwork, ensuring everything was ready in two weeks. For a first-time homebuyer, they turned what could've been a daunting drama into a smooth, feel-good experience. I'm so happy I found them! So if you're in the market for a great mortgage team, look no further. This team is the best!

They worked so fast to help me meet the seller's request for a more accelerated closing period, and throughout the process I always knew what was happening and what I needed to do next. Highly recommend them.

We just refinanced to a 15-yr mortgage. After keying our data into a couple of the big loan search…read moreengines, our phone rang off the hook for days. I nearly went with a firm in CA and had gone as far as having them FedEx the papers to me. Then Andy Geismar from Capital Mortgage called. I literally almost hung up on him and told him I'd already decided. Fortunately, Andy was very persistent and insisted he could save us closing cost money if I'd let him compete for our business....I finally agreed. I'm glad I did! Some people may shy away from mortgage brokers in favor of going directly through their local bank to refinance. That's a mistake. Andy knows what he's doing and set us up with a lender who paid most of our closing costs in addition to getting us a 3% rate for 15 yrs. Everything was very fast. We closed 7 business days after I got all the documentation to Andy...And 4 of those days we waited for a payoff statement from our equity line bank. The closing attorney came to our home and we did the closing at our kitchen table. Everything was very professional. Most of the phone calls you'll get from the Internet when you're refinancing will be people trying to take advantage of you. They'll give you a low interest rate and then load you up on discount points and closing costs. One of the "large" online mortgage companies was going to charge us nearly $6,000 in closing costs! Andy got us the 3% rate we wanted and saved us nearly $2,500 in closing costs over the nearest competitor...That was certainly worth taking Andy's phone call instead of hanging up on him! He's also local, which is more reassuring than dealing with someone in CA...

My experience with AmeriSave involved a loan process that took approximately 90 days, and my main…read moreconcerns were the changes in discount points, the clarity of the pricing disclosures, and the length of the overall process. When I initially proceeded with the loan, the June 30, 2026 Loan Estimate showed 2.473% in discount points, or approximately $2,329, along with a $500 lock fee. I proceeded based on that pricing. During the process, the discount points later increased to 4.032%, or approximately $4,011.93. After I raised a complaint about the change, the points were subsequently reduced to 3.597%, or $3,578.60, on the final September 23, 2026 Closing Disclosure. While I appreciated the subsequent reduction, the final points were still approximately $1,249.60 higher than the points reflected in the original June 30 disclosure. My primary concern was not simply that the loan terms changed during the process, but that I did not receive a clear explanation of why the discount points changed so significantly. I also did not have a clear understanding, when I paid the $500 lock fee, of the conditions governing how the fee would be treated if the loan pricing or terms subsequently changed. The approximately 90-day processing time also made the experience more difficult, particularly because the pricing changed during the process. I recommend that prospective borrowers carefully review each Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure, ask for written explanations of any changes in points or fees, and make sure they fully understand the terms associated with any lock fee before proceeding. This review reflects my personal experience and the loan documents I received during the transaction.
