First time homebuyer here! In early April, I started getting serious about purchasing a home. I was approaching my due date with my 2nd child and we needed a home that was move-in ready. I googled "Best mortgage companies" and saw the Moreira team on the list. I submitted an inquiry online and was contacted by Timothy Endress shortly afterwards. He was professional, knowledgeable and sensitive to our situation with the newborn. I received a preapproval shortly after submitting the documentation required. When i came to TJC mortgage i was already 2 months into the loan process with another lender. With the other lender i didn't feel like i was getting the best rates i qualified for nor were they keeping me in the loop on what was delaying the closing. So i did some research and TJC mortgage was the front runner on my search due to their great reviews. I called to get some quotes on rates I qualified for. They offered me better rates than the rate I was getting first and explained the process thoroughly. It was a no brainer to swap lenders. My situation was a little unique because the duplex that I was buying wasn't separated and only had 1 tax ID instead of 2 separate tax IDs. So we were waiting on the government to release a new tax ID for my side of the duplex. The wait lasted about 2 months and the closing date had to be extended about 3 or 4 times. During this wait, my apartment lease had ended and I had no where to live. I ended up moving into the home under a "temporary occupancy" while we were still under contract. Thank god because that extra expense was not planned in my budget. I was a first time homebuyer and they helped me every step of the way. They made me feel as though i had an army behind me and wouldn't let me be taken advantage of. I feel lucky they even decided to take me on with the stringent dates I had in place. I don't know where to begin about how thankful I am to have gone with the Moreira Team to get my first home loan. I had started the loan process with another company NOT the Moreira Team who was horrible. I had deadlines to meet and their communication was nonexistent . It was then that I switched lenders and went with Moreira which is where I should have gone first. I was now on an extension for my closing date and starting the loan process all over again I almost felt defeated but Moreira made feel comfortable and the line of communication I had with them was amazing. I worked with Renee Curry who was awesome and didn't hesitate to get the process started quickly and reassure me they could meet the deadline. One person I believe went above and beyond on the work they did for me and that was Amanda Bailey she was always there to answer an email or call I can't imagine doing this process without her and if I ever get the chance to go through this process I will choose Moreira because of her. Top notch team--hands down. I couldn't be happier with my decision to finally respond to a VA Rate Reduction Loan flyer I received in the mail. Given the historically low rates currently being offered, I decided to explore options. I spoke with six different agencies, a couple of which are highly rated on mainstream sites. The Moreira Team, then an unknown entity to me, was the second of the six with whom I'd spoken. The moment I ended my phone call with Al, I told my wife I was comfortable going with them right away. Wow. Just... wow. I found Moreira Team online through a fluke, and gave them a call after I saw all the rave reviews on Yelp. I had a rather unique situation, and wanted to know if they could help. Al called me right back, asked me a bunch of questions, and gave me solutions that no other bank had! I've been wrestling around for FIVE MONTHS and not one single lender could help me with what seemed like a simple refinancing. While my unique situation was beyond what Moreira Team could do, Al gave me some free advice. I called my current lender, asked for the things he told me to say - and for $266 my mortgage is getting a reamortization and I'll be saving something like $1,000 a month on my mortgage payments. I've talked to SO many banks, and had refinancing plans go awry twice after hours on the phone, and collecting and scanning financial documents. And Al solved my problem being on the phone with me for just a few minutes. He didn't even get any business from helping me. The guy's magic. I spoke with Nelson one evening, the following morning he sent over my loan application, by the end of that same day I received my pre-approval letter and was able to start setting up house viewings with my realtor. I found Alvaro online when I was shopping rates. I called several brokers and ended up using him for a refinance of my home from a 30 to a 20 year term. He was very personable and answered all my questions quickly. As always with a refinance there were hiccups along the way and he responded immediately throughout the process when I had problems with the IRS and finding some documents from my previous closing. Also he had the best rate which of course was very important to me as well. He also recommended me locking my rate as soon as possible and it trended up the next week which will also end up saving me some money over the term of my loan. Taylor's knowledge of VA loans helped not only us as the buyers and our realtor, but she was relied on as an expert by the selling realty team as well. The best part was the communication we received. While the corporate emails always went straight to my spam folder (be sure to check that!!), Taylor and her team were always communicative and provided clear and actionable guidance throughout the whole process.
