It's no wonder they just closed all of their spin off locations. This one probably won't last much longer with their horrendous customer service. You don't get greeted, no one asks you if you need anything, there aren't prices on anything, you'll wait forever for someone to help to you and when you get to the checkout you will be treated like you're inconveniencing them. What makes it worse is that their prices are jacked up way higher than their competitors like B&H and Adorama. Sales and customer service is a dead art form here. Purchased a lens through here that had issues which I suspect was a de-centered copy. When shooting vertical, the lens would be so soft that it appeared out of focus, yet turning the camera 180 degrees (still vertical) it was tack sharp. Called Cardinal and they said they would exchange it, sent me a label, and I sent it back. A week goes by and I never hear from them so I call. They transferred me to someone in online sales (bought online), and he tells me it might be a week due to stock. That I could wait or just get a refund. Ok, I'll way I say. Another week goes by and no contact once again. I call again and the person I need to talk to isn't there and will call me back the next day, which never happens. They finally call Monday. I'm told they now won't exchange the lens and I can either have the same one sent back, or get a refund. They said the lens was tested and works fine. I try to explain that I also tested it and have the images to show the problem. A consistent problem. The guy I talked to won't have it and starts getting rude. He finally says they're just going to refund. I said ok, I'll purchase elsewhere and he hangs up. I call back and talk to a manager and she proceeds to explain how they can't exchange because shipping costs them money and they're a small company. She wouldn't let me get a word in until I finally asked twice if I could talk. I told her what happened and how I tested the lens. Finally she says that they can't send a third copy out. THIRD??? This is my FIRST. I explained all this and it appears she was misinformed. After all of this she finally offered to exchange it "this time" which I declined. After getting hung up on by a rude employee, I no longer wish to do business with them. I'd avoid this place at all costs and use a reputable camera store like Adorama, BHPhoto, or Amazon. read more

My initial choice was what I thought was for me, but it wasn't and upon my return they gladly let me choose a different bag. I used Cardinal several years ago to repair an old 1960's Nikon and was pleased then. I've since moved away but desperately needed to find a repair shop 4 days before Labor Day for my Nikon D60. I called around to numerous places in Philly and Montgomery County but came up short. I remembered Cardinal and spoke to the technician, Terry, who works on-site. I dropped the camera off that afternoon got a call the next day that it had been repaired!! The cost was $60 cheaper than the other estimates I received and even comes with a 1-year warranty on the service. I will happily drive the extra distance for any future repairs and am excited to be heading into the holiday weekend with my camera in tow. read more

I was recently in the store to inquire about a night photo shoot...the sales men, 2 of them knew no details about it. The one guy had called another store for the info and was very rude. Then when I asked about the "free class" that they had advertised on there website, he said "it's only if you bought your camera from Caridnal Camera." I told him, "no where on the website does it say that." He replied, "If you don't like it, then leave!" and then he walked away. Will never step foot in any Cardinal Camera! I rather drive in the traffic to King of Prussia to Ritz Camera where they sales people are friendly and very helpful! I had a GREAT experience with Cardinal Camera. I bought a camera from them eight months ago, when I went to sell it I found out it was a "grey market" camera. I then contacted Cardinal Camera and Brian said there was an obvious mixup and he would send me a new one. I received it this week. In these days of rushed sales-people and many people ordering on-line, a nice personal touch and genuine service seems to be going by the wayside, but I see it has not been lost on those who work at this company. I had ordered an a7riii from cardinal camera and got it from ups. Noticed that it was super light and when i opened it, it was empty. On closer inspection, it looks like the package was opened and retaped. Someone probably stole it during delivery and i do not want to blame anyone without proof but there are only limited ways and time that the package could have been opened. Any way, called for help and cheryl took care of me expeditiously. Also called ups regarding this incident and filed a report with them. I was called by Cheryl the following day and was assured another camera will be shipped to me. I am very disappointed with ups and how i got an empty box but i am very very happy with the excellent service i received from Cheryl and cardinal camera. Highly highly recommended read more

The old neighborhood camera stores are slowly going under. Not this one. I am a pro with 30 years experience. While waiting to have some scans done for some comp prints for friends, I hung around. The salesman was helping a customer choose a rather high end digital camera. He was straightforward, knew his product, and while explaining the advantages of a more expensive model, there was no hard sell. That was nice to see. And, their in house scans are a great value. Beware when buying online from Cardinal Camera at cardinalcamera.com. I ordered a camera (Canon 330HS) from them back in March. A week later, I never received the camera, and called them. The salesperson I spoke with at this store said they would have someone call me back, and this person told me there was a "mix up" with the order and the camera I had ordered was discontinued and out of stock as a result. He offerred another model (Canon 340HS) instead of what I ordered. I wasn't interested already knowing that model has poorer image quality, so I requested a refund, and he said there would be no problem and that I'd have the money back in a few days. But a week later I still hadn't received my refund, and called the store again. The salesperson again tried to sell me the other model, which I said I wasn't interested in as that was not what I ordered. He said he'd let the person in charge of internet sales know and that he'd call me back. Well he never did, and I called again, to get the same runaround. Fortunately I paid with Paypal and had to file a dispute, now almost a month later, I finally have my money back as Paypal decided the case in my favor. No one from Cardinal Camera returned my messages or the ones from Paypal. Needless to say I don't plan on buying anything from them online again. They seemed to hope that I'd just forget about the order and that I'd go away. I'm writing this review to urge others, at least online, not to make the mistake I did by giving these guys my business, because once they have your money they could care less about giving the customer what they ordered or their money back. In a way, they tried a "bait and switch" by taking my money by having a discontinued, out of stock, camera on their website, and then trying to sucker me into buying another model which was inferior. But I was pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with my purchase. The camera turned out to be brand new even though I bought it a few hundred bucks cheaper. I have been buying camera and equipment from Cardinal Camera for many years the tent sales are top notice events, really they are events with lectures and training sessions. I have purchased 8 high end cameras and several regular ones and many lenses there, mostly during the tent sales. This year I took about 5 cameras to sell, normally there is a pro dealer who asses the equipment and gives a fair price for you to sell, not this year a young man who didn't really give a fair assessment of my equipment "I'd give ya five bucks for that camera" "maybe a hundred for that one oh 5 more bucks for the power booster on it". I left pissed off and felt insulted by this person, not the best way to do business. Yeah maybe a few things were not new and not worth as much as they once were, but don't insult me with flippant pricing and a bad attitude. So first year I bought nothing from them, I bought a new set up straight from Nikon and I sold my stuff on eBay for a LOT more than I was offered. So sad this was the first time I felt slighted by this wonderful store. Take note I gave them 4 stars I really, really wanted to give 5 stars because the sales people really do know there stuff and they take the time to really help and THEY are nice and friendly. read more

Wow, I should have read the John P. post of 4/22/14 regarding the purchase of items online from Cardinal Camera before I bought something from them. I ordered a camcorder on 6/4/14 and to-date have not received it. I made several inquiries about the item with no response from them. I even emailed the President of the company. Since I paid through Paypal, I have filed a dispute and hopefully Paypal can help resolve the issue. At this point, I would just like to have my money back and go somewhere else for the purchase. Can't comment about their service if you go to one of their store locations, but I can tell you, "don't buy something online". read more

I had a bad experience with this vendor. They accepted my internet order for a camera lens, and charged my credit card immediately for an item that they apparently did not have in stock at the time. I only found out about the stock situation when I called them 3 days after the order had been placed to ask about the shipment. The support person said that she would get back to me. She did not call back. I then contacted the support email address on their website on the same day, and the company owner responded, promising a refund if I wanted to cancel the order. I immediately wrote back to him that I would indeed like to cancel the order and that I, of course, expect a prompt refund. Nothing has happened in return. In the meantime (=5 days later), I have called them back twice about this, and have written an additional email. I have yet to receive any kind of cancellation notice from them, and am still waiting for the refund. Worse yet, during the last phone call, one of their employees (Claire) first lectured me about the fact that "personal interactions would always work much better than emails" and then hung up on me. I am a passionate nature freak and photographer. So when my flash stopped working 7 months ago I took it into the King of Prussia Cardinal Camera for repairs. When I dropped it off I asked the clerk what the estimated time would be to repair it. He state 4-6 weeks give or take a week. That was the end of June 2011. It is now January 16th 2012, seven months later, and no camera. I started to call the repair man, emailed him, even sent a raving letter to corporate. At first I was told the part was on back order. Fine. But then the one time I finally get to talk to Terry, he tells me that MY camera was sent to Nikon USA without my knowledge or consent. I told him the importance of the camera to me in october and he (terry) promised to try and get them to rush it. It is now January and he never even called back to say whether they would or not. Obviously not. After waiting seven months to fix a damned flash I am fed up with it. I have been nothing but sweet and patient. Even worse when I dropped the camera off the market value for it was 399.00. seven months later its 270 so even if i wanted to force them to let me trade it in for another of equal value I lose 129 dollars. Its lose lose. Cardinal Camera has been the worst customer service i have ever dealt with. At this point i'm sure they have lost it or accidentally sold it to someone else. I absolutely recommend going to another store, AVOID CARDINAL CAMERA AT ALL COSTS. read more
