Good selection and some prices are fair but their customer service skills need some work.

Great products, but the customer rep on the phone needs some work. Very rude and quick to get me off the phone. Very frustrating!

The shop/outdoor rental place is in a barn across the road from the river and although it looks like a good size from the outside, I was blown away when I went in. Kayaks and bicycles can be rented by the day, and inner tubes and pumps purchased, taking care of river recreation needs. But allow a LOT of extra time for shopping in the rest of the store when you return your gear-- the rest of the 6,000 square feet of renovated barn is chock full of fun gifts, books, clothing, outdoor gear, backpacks, water shoes, jewelry, cute housewares and all sorts of upscale souvenirs to the point where I could have spent the entire day browsing. They also have a partnership with local nature organization supporting the Sourlands, so there is a good cause to support while shopping, and some interesting local guides available in the book section. In the age of internet retail, having a place like this to explore is priceless (although I think they also do internet sales and gift baskets too). Will definitely be back, hopefully very soon.

I wanted sconces that would hold taper candles, not the electric sort that leave you having to hide the trailing cord. So I decide to run to Sweet Magnolia to replace a candle that had recently burnt out completely when, lo and behold!, there is the most gorgeous pair of gold-leafed wall sconces hanging right before my eyes! This is why I love Sweet Magnolia - you can find such elegant pieces here when you least expect it. I also appreciate that their prices don't put a huge dent in your wallet. $58 for the pair? I'll take them! The store also carries the greatest soy candles ever by Aquiesse which last a rather long time and come in several delightful fragrances. They also carry an array of other home goods - Forte teas, place settings, bath and body products, stationery, baby gifts, and jewelry. Definitely a great little shop for finding last minute gifts or a treat for yourself. I've seen similar items at other stores like Anthropologie for twice the price, so why not patronize a local entrepreneur instead?

The host was frequently absent and didn't provide much guidance or engagement during the experience. It felt a bit like we were left to navigate things on our own. Additionally, there was no acknowledgment of my birthday while there, which was disappointing given that this was the purpose of our visit. Even a small gesture or simple "happy birthday" would have gone a long way in making the experience feel more personal and celebratory. For the price point, I did expect a more elevated and attentive experience. Overall, it's a nice spot, I just wish the experience felt a bit more intentional - especially for moments you're celebrating.

I looked on the website and I believe you have to book online only to reserve your spot. On the website, you can decide what experience you would like to have such as their signature candle in which you make two candles, the candle of the month or a cereal bowl candle experience. I chose the signature candle which was 75.00. Once I arrived, I noticed that the shop was cute and creatively decorated. I had the pleasure of meeting my host Becky who was sooo personable and simply Ahmazing! Becky explained how candle making works and discussed the scent bar in which I could choose between earthy, fruity or exotic scents for the candles and you can also select two candle jars. I decided to get a bigger candle jar which was an extra 10.00. Overall i became a chandler and made two beeyutiful candles and Becky gave me healing crystals and the large candle jar free of charge!! I was so grateful and appreciative being as tho It took me along time to accept nice things and blessings from people, I would always block it... but that's another story! Cork and candles!!! I will defintely be back for that cereal bowl candle which is also pre made for purchasing along with other creative candles. Great for couples, girls nite out, birthdays etc!

I found a cute little pink and green teapot that made me go "ooh." Be careful to check the price tags to make sure you're paying the right price though! The teapot had a reused price tag with the correct teapot price on one side and another (much higher) price for a different item on the other side. Just make sure they scan the right tag. I also saw some nice little ramekins, but wound up going with the teapot instead. Couldn't stop thinking about the ramekins though, so I started looking online to see if there was anything similar. Turns out both the ramekins and the teapot are available for a cheaper price on Amazon. Not just "similar" items--the exact same ones. Felt a little swindled, but at the same time I guess I'm supporting a local business. Still, it would be nice if they offered products that are more unique and not just off Amazon with a new price tag. If I go back I'll definitely do my homework first.
