My friends think that it's funny that I like to Yelp .. So they wanted to bring me some place that they thought was Yelp worthy. (they don't do Yelp)... So, knowing that I am a fan of good Mexican food and cooking it they brought me here to Cardenas. Cardenas is like the best thing wrapped into one store. You know that ice cream man that pushes a cart making shaved snow with flavored syrup on top. Well, those things are called raspados and they have a raspodo area in here which makes fresh (no crap) toppings. Like strawberry, coconut, tamarindo the list goes on. They have mangos on a stick with pico de gallo on top... Fresh fruit salads.. THE BEST MEXICAN BAKERY IN THE WORLD TOO! The cakes are amazing to look at. Huge over sized 15-enera and wedding cakes here that are so goddy it's insane! There is also a tortilleria here where they make fresh corn and flour tortillas. YES, HOMEMADE! There is even a little area where they grill chicken on a huge grill in front of you. They make fresh salsa here too. They even have little sample booths here like Costco. Except better because it's their food that are samples. Fresh and good! They have a meat department here as well as a seafood department. This place was rad! I left with tortillas and some pastries. The grocery part is rad too. I just wish that one of these stores would open in Orange County. This place was super rad and super clean. I'm coming back to the area today so I am for sure coming back here. I am bringing the boy here today. I think that he would dig it just as I did. Why four stars.. Well.... customer service sucks ass here. We waited F-O-R-E-V-E-R! to order and pay at the raspado area. Little Sleepy with her bad electric blue eye shadow and thick over exaggerated eye liner and black lip liner around the lips and no lipstick was too busy with her gossip as was her home-girls to help us out. Hi asshole's I want to give you money!! WTF!! the chocolate covered strawberries were good!

I love our local Cardenas Market!! Fresh fruit and veggies. Every where you turn you see beautiful colors and wonderful smells. Most of the time all the employees are friendly but we all have bad days but thats ok. If just once, you have to walk through a Cardenas market!!;)

Horrible customer service. Check out lines can become very long. It's unfortunate, because the prepared foods are usually good.

One of the cleanest Cardenas around.... I like the decor inside, specially by the eating area.

Honestly, wish I hadn't................ I got in line, not too busy, maybe 8 people in front of me. I ordered the Sexy Italian, minus olives and mayo. That, and a bag of chips was $23.00. Good lord! Better be good, right? How was it, you ask? Shitty! First of all, I took a seat in the room with the huge table behind the drinks. There was shit all over the table...napkins, crumbs, mustard stains etc. Wipe that shit down, man, seriously! Anyways.....I got my sandwich fairly quick. First thing I noticed was that it looked straight up like Kirkland/Costco ham on the sandwich. Nothing wrong with Kirkland ham, I buy it and eat it all the time, but for an Italian sandwich that costs $18 by itself, step up the meat game, man! The salami was cut pretty thick too and had a very overpowering smoke flavor. It was too saucy with the pesto and mustard and hard to eat. The kicker was the bread. It was a "parmesan roll", but it looked and tasted almost underbaked. It was really thin too! Subways Italian herb and cheese bread is way better, honestly. I bit in and was immediately disappointed. The quality of meat was bad, the bread was crappy, the produce was skimp, plus it was messy as a mofo. I ate half of the sandwich, and tried to take another bite of the second half, and I couldn't do it. Threw it away. Waste of $23.00. At least the Salt and Vinegar chips I picked out were good, lol! Definite one and done for me. Not sure how they have almost 5000 mostly positive reviews. Maybe people in Indio have different taste buds? Who knows. I shall not return. Meh.

While there are closer stores I could shop at, I religiously travel the distance to shop at the Indio location. Great prices, clean store, AMAZING wide aisles where we could have drag races with our carts if we wanted. LOVE the deli, sushi & pizza! But...what I love THE MOST? The employees. From the Dope AF guy in the deli that knows our order, the amazing employees who always give their time to help with questions and those amazing cashiers. In today's society where we're getting more & more disconnected from one another I think the biggest thing this company & store gives is that nostalgic, hometown, community vibe and that's not an easy achievement for such a large store - but they do! This store makes grocery shopping a more enjoyable experience! Well done to everyone who works at this location & thank you for being in the Coachella Valley!

The selection of veggies and fruits is unbeatable, as well as the selection of *most* things. The prices, oh the prices, if only we can get these prices in LA. I can't recall anything being more expensive than a Ralph's, Vons or Smart & Final. The only section that could be better as far as selection is alcohol. Don't expect super high-end stuff. But it's a *decent* selection nonetheless. Service - be patient; you're saving money because they save money by not hiring as many people as they should. Also you must bag your groceries. This presents a bit of a challenge for folks like me who are disabled (I can stand but am a fall hazard). Ambiance - um it's a generic grocery store. Don't expect bachata music to dance to while you pick the spiciest peppers. 5 stars for selection and prices 3-4 stars for service (still better than your avg Ralphs!)

Great attitude and there to assist 100% an excellent ambassador to the brand, he has the right stuff. YESTERDAY, While this is not the closest market, it is the one I choose to drive to as the market itself is great. Some of the staff, not so happy to be there. LOCATION: Excellent as long as you know how to get there off the 111. Don't miss the turn or you are screwed. Lots of parking and carts. FACILITY: Very nice buildout, wide isles, and ascetically very easy on the eye as you can see across the store. Bright and open. SELECTION: Not a huge selection but for me most of what I am looking for in greens, fish, and breads. I have my favorites and they are always in stock. QUALITY: Always top quality, someone is on this. Veggies are top notch and always arranged well. Excellent bread options as well as bulk. PRICING: About the same as other markets. STAFF: Since I shop here about one a week, not sure on this one, most people working here just do not seem happy or overly helpful. My last visit on a not busy afternoon, saw 10 people waiting to pay with one poor guy doing his best checking and bagging as a co-worker looked on and ignored the situation. She is also a manager I believe. Yo, we all got options do your job make happy customers happen especially when they are trying to pay so they can get on with their day. People here are obviously doing their jobs as the market is always looking great and well stocked, but zero eye contact, no smiles, and seem like robots... hummmm, maybe they are? I hope they are happy. TIP: Getting there early check out the Managers Specials, great deals to be had on turn items.
