Last time getting the wrong parts complete waste of time going here. The last 3 trips to carcraft the parts are mismatched and not correct. Shame on me for 3 tries to support a small business. read more

I have an older car craft turbo kit on my sand rail, probably pushing 20 years old considering the car was built in '03, I noticed some cracks in the the hot side housing, upon further inspection there were 2 cracks in different spots that had spread through the entire structure of the housing, not minor surface cracks. I called car craft in order to figure out what kind of turbo it was so I could order a new housing and was told by 2 different people that I need to talk to Shane(it's a little odd to me that only one person knows what kind of parts they are using on these turbo kits but whatever). I called back the next day, get connected with Shane, I explained the issue and before asking for pictures or any other information his response was "all turbos crack it's not a big deal and won't effect performance", now me being a car guy I know all about how these things work, I was just trying to simplify the process of buying a new housing seeing as there is no information etched into the turbo. Well Shane, you're right turbos do crack, and most of the time it's not going to be a big deal, but you shouldn't downplay these issues, for those who don't know it's not uncommon for a turbo to take an entire motor with it when it decides to let go at 6k+ rpm so with my motor being a built 2275 you can see why I'm concerned. So long story short, car craft lost me as a customer before they even had me, do better guys, there are already enough scummy, sleazy people in the modified car industry. Don't treat your customers like idiots because believe it or not some us are also car enthusiasts just like you guys, some of us know what we're talking about and when something is a problem. read more

So I read all the reviews and was a little reticent to use Car Craft. I gave it a shot and was very pleasantly surprised. I spoke with one gentleman who then transferred me to Shane. Both were very helpful, informative and courteous. We needed to get our 1969 Volkswagen Beetle raised back to stock after buying it from someone who lowered it. They gave us a quote, an appointment time and an estimated repair time. They also let us tow it in the day before so that we didn't have to come in at the same time that I was taking our daughter to school. Not only did they fix exactly what we asked them to, but they did it for under what they quoted us. Shane and everyone I dealt with was very helpful and friendly. We own a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle and a 1968 Volkswagen Bus and we will definitely be back here for any and all repairs we need in the future. read more

I am really new to the Volkswagon club. Inherited a 1973 Karmin Ghia. Started for me one day but after that I couldnt get it started. Long story short I was told by a mechanic who couldn't get it started about Car Craft. Had it towed there...and I am so glad I did. They were awesome and knew the Volkswagon brand without a doubt. The car's engine had been rebuilt but unfortunately was sold on stuff I didn't need. Nick who worked on our car...explained in detail about the car's engine. I thought by being a women that I might get the run around...and for the first time I was treated like a customer and apart of the Volkswagon family. Nick got it started called me as promised concerning what the car needed in service..simply outstanding and very reasonable and the ghia runs great. I will continue to go there and only there. I appreciate Shane and Nick of Car Craft. Thank you so much..see you soon! Excellent...... read more

To those who complain about "customer service", this isn't a dealer where they need to pamper you. They are a VERY busy shop and have done nothing but top notch quality work on all my water cooled VDubs, my MK1 Sciroccos, Corrado, Eurovan, MKIII Jetta and even a Porsche, Bimmer. Like I said they are busy, so much so that they can refuse business. Once you recognize this, and be respectful, patient, they'll treat you great. I moved away from CA a decade ago now I'm back, and I'll show off my latest vintage water cooled baby, my all original '92 VW Cabriolet Wolfsburg Edition triple white. Car Craft rocks! read more

The worst service, is incredible how the ( Shane ) have a special and bad attitude... i never ask for any free... i pay over 7,000 dlls for my services and the first day ( brake leak ) , the oil at the engine are BLACK ,, the electric parts not wok appropriate and now my engine is not good after 6 months,, and the respond when I ask ( when i can drop the car to fix ?.. i DON'T KNOW... I DON'T KNOW. !!! ) ... I don't know ????... maybe i respond same when i pay for the service. my comments about for the Service person Shane is not only from me, a lot of persons think the same. read more

This place really makes you feel like an idiot when you go in there. I got the worse attitude from the short chubby karate guy. I will never go there again. The first couple of times I went in I figured they were having a bad day. But after spending $500 in the first two trips there and still got a very condescending attitude from him I figured that's how they are. I'm mean you work at a auto parts store as a counter person how bad can it be. If you don't like your job you should do us all a favor and quit maybe the dojo is your calling. read more

The guys at the parts counter were all knowledgeable when I went by twice. Had everything in stock. Also we're able to help me with my vague descriptions of what I was working on(never worked on a bug before) they had a ton of used oe parts too. read more

Too bad they don't have Zero stars as an option in their customer service, have seen the work they put out and looks quality, Have used them in a pinch! But customer service Josh has been helpful. The other Guy is a Dick!Last time I was there I gave it right back! Told the jerk I'd come back maybe when he was in a better mood! Lol for Quality service use J bugs they are very helpful part prices are very competitive. They ship and in most cases got parts the next day! Will never lower myself to trade with them again. Hope this was helpful read more

They have great prices and that's why i gave them 2 starsbut man they are rude and condescending. From the counter to the whoever was dealing the engine case rebuild. I just had the case check and decided to take to brothers machine shop in Ontario, they seemed to know what i was talking about when I told them about carcraft and how rude they are. Brothers were really nice guys, spent 15 minutes with me answering questions and made 1100$. read more

Right of the start the dude with long hair was treating me like I was stupid, even after I explained to him this was my first ever project, gave me the wrong fuel pump even though I brought my old one with me, told me the rods don't wear anyways, later found out there are two types of fuel pumps and long and short rods for them, asked for any advice didn't get any, he was just in a rush to finish the transaction even though the store wasn't busy at all. I had this shop replace my starter while traveling on a long trip from Phoenix to the Northwest. On my way home after 3 weeks and about 3500 miles that starter failed in the middle of northern Nevada. I limped down to Vegas and got it replaced. The starter that Car Craft installed had a broken spring int he Bendix. Luckily it did not damage the ring gear on the flywheel. When I got back to Phoenix I requested a refund for the failed starter. I did not ask for covering the original labor costs, nor the subsequent labor costs to replace the failed starter. "Ron" at Car Craft told me to send back the failed starter and he would refund the cost of the starter. The starter was sent back by UPS with signature required. UPS showed that "Shane" at Car Craft signed for the return. But, a month later after multiple emails and a phone call...Car Craft has neither replied nor refunded. read more

Everybody here is really cool and knowledgeable about classic air cooled VWs except Shane. If you ask him a question he will try to make you feel stupid that you don't know what he knows. He obviously is not doing good and is unhappy with life. Too bad it overflows into his attitude towards customers. I try to avoid Shane at all costs but love this place. Steer clear of Shane!! Worst attitude ever, he should stick to working on cars and not with people. read more

I would consider myself a novice/intermediate driveway mechanic ... but whenever I need parts and help on whatever vdub project I am working on, they are there to help! I always have some dumb question (which gasket for the fuel pump? which way do the luevers go under the gen/alt stand?!) ... and they are willing to spend the time helping me out. Brock knows his sh!t. The young guy, the long hair guy, and yes, even the karate guy are super helpful. I've been in there so many times I should know their names by now. This last time I was in there, I had trouble getting my oil cooler to seal right, and they did whatever they could to help me get the right seals. I dropped off my engine case to have it machined and after three months it still was not touched. Then when I called and told them I was picking it up they said it was junk and there was a crack in cylinder one. If they would have inspected it in the beginning it could have saved me 3 months of delaying my project. Also about 2 weeks ago I called to ask if it was ready and the said " have you gotten a call....... then it's not ready" hang up! Rude I realize they are one of the few shops around that still work on air cooled engines but a little friendly service goes a long way. I would not recommend them for any work. Ok for parts purchase they have a lot in stock but they lost my Bussiness and all of my friends Bussiness. You have been warned! read more

This place sucks -- had my car for a month and didn't even do the repair correctly on my 03 vw tdi beetle. I agree with most of the reviews on this company. Their customer service is so horrible and estimates are NOT accurate. We took our car in to be worked on, they said it would be a few days and gave us an estimate. Well a week later we received a call, the mechanic said oh by the way you can't drive it unless you do "more" repairs. Seriously, at that point you really don't have a choice and they know it. What a complete rip-off! This is NOT the customer service I remember about car craft, one of the so called the owners I talked with went off the deep end during our conversation. He completely forgot I was the customer and forgot who was paying the bill. I refuse to go back, once again another bad review...... Maybe the company should hire a PR representative and invite them to train employees on phone etiquette and business ethics. read more

Service is hit and miss here. Sometimes you will get someone really helpful and other times you will get someone that makes you feel stupid and that you are wasting their time for even talking to them. These guys saved our day!! In short, we were in need of a part and needed it fast. When we called them and they had it but were just closing for the day. After explaining our situation they stashed the part we needed outside the shop and if it worked, they would just trust us to call them on Monday with our credit card info. That's customer service at its best, like the good old days. Not too many people are willing to trust anyone for anything these days. Thanks again for helping us out & I look forward to calling you on Monday to keep up our end of the deal. read more
