They took zero responsibility and told me there was nothing they could do. So, I 100000000% recommend you stay FAR away from Davis Collision. The fact that I'm driving around with a bumper that looks like is embarrassing -- for me AND for them. Because now every time someone sees my car, I can say, "Yeah, don't go to Davis Collision. This is the quality of work they do." I paid to have my car repaired, not to drive around looking like this. The least they could've done was stand behind their work. OG: They were friendly throughout the process, but unfortunately, my experience with the repair itself was frustrating. I was initially told that the only amount I would have to pay was what the insurance company had provided, which was $1,347 and some change. I kept receiving texts with changing dates for when my car would be ready, so I eventually called to check on the status. I was told they were waiting on the insurance company, but that on their end, the vehicle would be finished that night. The next day, I received a call saying my car was ready. I went to pick it up expecting to pay the $1,347 and some change I had been told about. Instead, I was handed an invoice for $1,409 and some change. They had to call the boss in, and I was then told they had repaired a bracket/clip that was supposedly broken. This was the first time I had ever heard anything about a damaged bracket or an additional repair. Nobody contacted me to tell me about it or to get my approval for the additional charge. I was told they could charge me for it because I had signed paperwork authorizing them to repair my vehicle. However, simply signing authorization to repair the vehicle is not the same thing as being informed about an additional repair and its cost. I was specifically told I would pay what the insurance company provided. Even then, I ended up being charged $19 more than what the adjuster had provided. Unfortunately, there are also visible issues with the finished repair. The bumper has a noticeable gap between it and the right headlight, and there is white paint left on my black grille. I understand that unexpected issues can sometimes be discovered during a repair, but the problem is the lack of communication. If I was going to be charged for an additional repair, I should have been told about it before the work was completed and given the opportunity to approve or decline the additional cost. I also expected the vehicle to be properly finished and inspected before being told it was ready for pickup. The staff were friendly, but unfortunately, the communication, unexpected charge, and quality of the finished repair left me disappointed.
