I thought I was working with a reputable dealer with all the repeat customers. June 2025, I…read morepurchased a used 2023 Express H18 with a 115 Yamaha. I wanted to put it in the water and test drive it but they don't have anything near them. So I had to take there word on it. The boat was traided in with only 12 hours on it but had 14 hours when I bought it. I asked is there anything wrong with the boat. Salesman said one of the employees used it to help run a high school tournament. Then asked him was there anything wrong with the boat. He replied that nothing wrong with it, it performed as it should. The tires showed slight wear on the outside and I brought that to there attention. I didn't think it was a problem. I drove it less than 300 miles home and the tires were bald. I put the boat in the water to find it had a major leak. I had to run the bilge pump every half hour and it would pump out a couple of gallon each time. After several phone calls they said they would not replace the axle but would put new tires with a heavier ply rating. I also sent them videos of the leak. They scheduled me in to fix both issues and since I'm driving 5 hours each way they would fix it while I waited. I seen they put sealant on the two screws holding the transducer pad to the boat and the two holding the transduce. I put the boat in the water to find that the leak had not been fixed. I made it very clear that the leak was coming from between the pad and the boat. It was very clear in the videos. Then they tried saying I bought it as is. Also said I didn't make it clear where the leak was. I reminded them that I sent several videos at different angles and there was no excuse for not fixing it correctly. At this time, communications were breaking down so I sent a legal letter with my intentions to return the boat. Salesman called and said they will fix the leak but it's up to me to bring back again. That's another 10 hour drive for me. I said that's not acceptable and would talk to my legal counsel about my next steps. A half hour later the salesman called and again few minutes later and left a message to call him. The next day he called me again and said they will pick the boat up, bring it back and fix the leak. I would be responsible to pick it up when it's done. I compromised and picked it up. I will say the tires are doing better and the leak has been fixed. However, it should have never been in issue. You will never convince me that the employees who used the boat didn't recognize the leak. Next big issue. Purchased the boat in June 2025 and paid cash. In the middle of October I still didn't have my registration or titles. I was told the title was lost but now they found it and just got it released from the bank. They overnighted them to me along with a check for late fees and my 1% Indiana tax. It still cost me $250 in additional fees. I'm so glad to be done with them. You can bet I will not be a repeat customer.

They recommend contacting any listed registration office prior to arrival to determine if they are still registering watercrafts; especially in the Fall. (The office may be out of registration tags.) I called Sea Ray. The person who answered the phone was able to tell me everything I would need to register a kayak. A handful of small boat tags were still available, at the time of my visit. If visiting Sea Ray to exclusively register a boat, make sure to walk straight to the service desk. There they will be able to help with registration. A sign on the front door (September 2019,) reads that there are no boat registrations on Saturdays. Registration is simple. I provided the employee with the needed documentation, and they did the rest. There is a $3 charge for using a credit or debit card. This $3 charge is allowed by the state. If registering at a state agency, they will also charge the fee. If looking for a motorized boat, the showroom at Sea Ray is clean. Step stools are throughout the showroom, making it easier for customers to board the vessels. There were sale signs on many of the boats, granted my visit was at the end of the season. There is also a board with ads for used boats for sale. Near the door are various pamphlets about local waterways, and boat safety. Several pamphlets are geared towards children. If you and your children are new to boating, I highly suggest stopping here to pick up some of the pamphlets. The information is free.
