The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, allowing students to suggest topics they're curious about, and the school supports these interests with genuine enthusiasm. The staff excels at helping children through transitions, fostering emotional growth and resilience. Snacks are provided, and families bring lunch from home. Expect plenty of outdoor time--there's a beautiful patio that serves as an extension of the classroom, encouraging exploration and creativity. This was my son's very first school, and I'll be forever grateful for the WSU family!

The 7th grade last year was a bit rude to the teachers and made the Spanish teacher and art teacher quit their jobs, I can say this school is one million times better than Mac or lee. The sports teams are nice and competitive but not in a rude way. They have assistance for special educational students and the orchestra/band/choir go on field trips to preform for the elementary schools and the theater goes to show cases and such. I rate the school good but some is bad, ifyky.

If anything, the students get told they can't bring it because a stress ball was "too distracting to the other students". They also do nothing about the bullying that is almost constant there, and if it is reported to the teachers, they brush it off, saying "oh that student would never do that to you!"

Mountain View High School suffers from a serious lack of professionalism among its teachers, deans,…read moreand principal. Instead of fostering a respectful and supportive environment, many staff members handle issues poorly, dismiss student concerns, and fail to address real problems like bullying and fights. Teachers sometimes act unprofessionally by showing favoritism, enforcing rules inconsistently, or treating students disrespectfully. The dean and principal, especially Mr. Antony, seem more focused on strict and unnecessary policies--like the harsh phone rules--rather than actually improving the school environment. Their lack of leadership and failure to take student safety and well-being seriously make it clear that Mountain View is not being run the way a school should be.

Just moved from Houston Independent School district to the Vancouver Public Schools…read more I'm comparing them coming from a 5 star school in Houston. Building is old but it's updated, so it has a modern feel to it, you can't see much wrong with the school from glancing at it. School hours are from 8:30am to 2:50pm. They release earlier at their discretion sometimes. This school helps out families by doing food distributions twice a month on a first come first serve basis. Compared to the school in Houston, my kids believes it's better. The people are nicer, it seems less stressful to pick up your kids. In Houston, people are rushed, disgruntled, will sometimes get in fights about people cutting lines, in front of kids and all. Here it seems like people care about the students ALOT. They are tight knit in the community, a dog was loose on the playground, and tho he was friendly, the owner was called, cops showed up. A report was done, I got a message from the community bulletins about it online. In Houston this would not have happened. Idk why people think it's bad, maybe compared to other schools it's "not as good" but it is waaaaat better than the school system we came from.
