She absolutely loves her class and says her teacher is the best teacher she has ever had. Of course, I had to share this with the school. Her writing and reading have increased exponentially. She has slightly more homework than her last school, and it requires a parent to be involved in the home learning process. They use classical education versus CORE or Beka, which is far more advanced, demanding, and structured. Grades are broken down into Pre-Grammar, Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. My daughter is in the pre-grammar stage. Then in 3rd grade she will enter Grammar. 5th, she will enter Logic, and I believe Rhetoric begins in 9th. Grades are broken down into stages. It seems difficult at first, but when you understand how it works, you will marvel. They begin Latin in 3rd and end in 8th I believe. Then they will touch on Greek in high school. They study the classics and will have strong presentation and debate skills by the time they depart for college. This is a K-12 school. Being Montessori based, the school focuses on the whole child, which after years of attending public schools has allowed my boys to again love learning. The teachers pay close attention to what makes my children "tick" and the space to make their own discoveries. In doing so, the teachers are giving them the skills to be hard working innovative thinkers in a collaborative environment while still incorporating the state education standards. It's in a historic house in the middle of old Battle Ground which really lends itself to play based learning. The kids don't seem like they are in a classroom setting. They do learn standard preschool academics here but the focus is on social and emotional growth and support and play based learning. My husband and I took turns going to the parent classes lead by the preschool teacher and I truly don't think any one thing has helped our family out more. We are better parents for it. As a co-op you learn and work alongside other families so you can really find a wonderful community here. I really can't recommend this school enough!

so hi have two different experiences with this school and none is good…read more the first thing is one teacher (whom I think is retired) made me and my brother cry into walkie-talkie and hate both of us. the other bad experience is from my brother who is now doing online school because of this, his 3 grade teacher made him sit in a class room because "he wasn't allowed to eat ice cream", he was able to, he did all his work but still he couldn't have ice cream. this teacher did many bad things and caused him to switch classes. he had another bad thing but that was because of the kids
