The small class sizes create incredible opportunity to be seen and heard by all of the staff. My kids love school, and love learning. My kids have learned what it means to be part of a close knit caring community that roots for you, and how to show up and be there for their friends. At the end of the day, my family believes this is the most important gift to give our kids as they grow up - and so we are so eternally grateful to call ourselves Gardnerinos. Our child attended Gardner for four years, preschool through first grade. We loved this school for…read morea long time and still think highly of many teachers, families and kids. Unfortunately, we completely lost confidence in its leadership. First grade was a disaster. An inexperienced teacher was put in charge with inadequate oversight. Parents raised concerns about classroom management, kids not having enough time to eat, cleanliness, bullying, an angry and intimidating environment, physical handling/restraint of students and academics. There wasn't even a clearly established curriculum until parents began demanding answers about what our kids were being taught and how progress was being measured. Our child went from loving school to having sleep problems, anxiety and major behavioral changes. At one point our child was hiding behind a classroom door and under desks crying during an activity involving sewing and hot irons because they were afraid of being poked or burned. We raised serious concerns directly with Head of School Courtney Tomlinson and told her in writing that the problems were affecting our child at home and were "increasing intensity quickly." Other parents were raising concerns too. It took parents organizing, demanding answers, discussing withholding tuition and pulling our kids before the teacher was finally placed on leave and removed. What happened afterward destroyed our remaining confidence. Getting straight answers was difficult. Communications were long on words and short on information. Parents asked for an open community discussion that never happened, while the Board publicly backed Courtney. Less than half of the students are returning next year. Families leave for different reasons, but that level of turnover speaks volumes. Gardner has wonderful teachers and families. They aren't why we left. We told the Board we would not return with Courtney as Head of School and would reconsider if leadership changed. If you're considering Gardner, talk privately to current AND former parents. We wish we had.

We really felt they knew our daughter very well. It's a very gentle and enriching environment and is quite remarkable that a room full of toddlers could feel so calm and peaceful. The focus on developing practical life skills through choice fostered a lot of independence in our child. There is a lovely outdoors area for exploring nature and they learned a lot about gardening. Ms. Julie is extremely knowledgeable and communicates well with parents, I learned a lot from her myself. My daughter is aging out otherwise we would be back next year for sure. I can't say enough good things about this school and recommend it to all parents of toddlers.

It was the BEST experience and I highly recommend Bright Beginnings Preschool! There are too many great things about the school, here are a few of my favorite things: 1. The teachers are fantastic (we had Miss Kathy and Miss Sinan)! Each room has a lead teacher and a co-teacher and we just love both of my kid's teachers so much!! They are a perfect team and so wonderful with the kids and seem to care about them so much. 2. They have a fabulous fenced play area with grass and playground equipment. They also have a huge indoor play space for days when it's too cold or wet to play outside. 3. They do the best art projects, and even made lovely mother's day and father's day and Christmas presents for us. 4. They had the most adorable Christmas program, as well as a "donuts with dad" program on a morning in January and a "muffins with mom" program on a morning in May. These programs were way too cute....just adorable! They are such special memories for us. They even had the most adorable evening graduation for the pre-K kids. 5. The school facility is light and bright and feels either newish or renovated. The classrooms are all nice and big and lovely, and have a private bathroom attached. 6. My kiddo learned so much (she now knows her uppercase and lower case letters, can count to 100, knows all the colors, and knows the 7 or 8 most common shapes) and is beyond ready and excited for kindergarten in the fall! I found out about Bright Beginnings through recommendations from a local mom's group and then through my own research, including campus tours of Bright Beginnings and two other local preschools, I found Bright Beginnings to be the easy winner. And we just totally loved it, so much that I want to spread the word in case anyone else is looking for an amazing preschool program for their kiddo!
