I love chicken wings for as long as they're dry on the outside and juicy inside. Unless I'm eating at home, I don't like the messy variants like buffalo wings. Thus, when I visited Paseo Center and saw Captain Pepper, a new place that sells chicken wings and other quick bites, I decided to try them out. After all, I was drawn to their outlet's Asian-inspired design. I find their black, red, and white color theme, plus their use of wooden stools to be appealing. But since I didn't have time to dine in, I had my order of chicken wings in Mexican spice in a takeaway bag.
It was before 10:00am when I visited, so the food outlet was barely open but they accommodated my request without hesitation. However, they said that my order might take about 10 minutes to prepare. I said it was ok. While waiting, I chatted with the staff at the counter and asked about the company. I learned that it's a sister company of Serenitea and it has a bigger outlet in Little Baguio in San Juan.
So what's the verdict on the chicken wings? It's spicy and tasty and good when eaten hot. read more
