Indian food makes me happy. It makes me very happy. So imagine my delight when I saw this little corner restaurant, Chi Chops, in Barangay La Paz, Makati. You know that feeling when a friend who's a great cook finally opens his little dream eatery? Yup, that's the feeling I got here.
From the outside, it didn't look like an Indian restaurant, but there was a chalkboard out front promoting their chai, lassi, and samosa, and so I was intrigued. I did not expect I would find fantastic samosa and veggie roti wrap here. I also liked their rose lassi and the garlicky chicken. The food brought back fond memories of hanging out at my Indian friend's house back in high school and getting my first taste of their cuisine.
Chi Chops has a well-meaning "tambayan" feel to it, and the food's home-cooked appeal and taste is affordable and worth the visit. When you do drop by, look for Loj. A warm and friendly waiter who really knows the menu. read more
